We have a 6000 model which has been great and is what led us to purchase the larger model for our bedroom. We had been looking to install a multi-zone minisplit, but given the quotes around $12k and that we’re likely moving in a year or so, we went all in on these “saddle” AC units (and the window kit as all of our windows are sliders – incidentally, the window kit works great).The new 10k BTU model can both heat and cool, and also uses an inverter to increase efficiency. This is certainly a beta product.Operation – I suspect 90% of people will purchase this device to use as an AC only device – Other than setting the device to “Cool,” every other setting (such as eco or sleep) allows the device to switch to either heating or cooling. This is problematic if you’re wanting the device to turn off the fan when it’s the device isn’t cycling. There really needs to be a few more options to allow for heating or cooling only in addition to modes such as eco or sleep. It really shows that this is their first “saddle” AC unit which can effectively function as a heat pump since the ability to manage the modes isn’t well considered.Noise – We have a Midea portable unit which also uses an inverter and that unit can be nearly silent at times – that portable unit is actually what this new device replaced in order to free up some floor space. Inverter ACs are generally expected to be some of the quietest on the market (and more expensive.) Fridges with inverters for their compressors are often nearly silent. This thing is fairly loud, although it’s not the compressor that’s to blame. The fan on the Soleus is very loud, even on the “quiet” setting – on my iWatch the dB sits around 45 positioned about five feet away from the device – considering that if you set it to “Cool” mode so that it won’t randomly start blowing warm air, the fan will be on constantly, all night long – at 45dB, this is problematic and I’m having to wear ear plugs. When the device has been off, the compressor seems to turn on first, run for a bit, then the fan itself turns on – it seriously sounds like a jet spooling up to take off before the fan turns on and gets much louder than the 45db when the fan and compressor are both running.Thermostat – This device is affected a fair amount by both the temperature outside as well as the condenser coils themselves – this is a problem given that on almost all the settings the device can also heat. On “Eco” mode the fan will turn off, and the condenser coil that’s still cool will cool the air around the thermometer causing the device to believe that the room is now colder than it should be… so to maintain the desired temp, it switches over to heat things up. Not economical. Now, I’m sure Soleus will point out that the remote has a “My Temp” option which effectively works as a remote thermostat for the device – this works OK, but the remote seems to supersede any other inputs, so if you change a setting on the app, or manually on the device itself, the remote will ultimately send a new temp update which also apparently instructs the device to resume whatever mode and temp had been set on the remote itself, effectively clearing out whatever changes you have just made.Sleep mode – The fact that this turns off the lights is a nice feature as the temperature display is very bright. Unfortunately I’m unsure the benefit of this mode as I can have the temp set at 68, and the room will be cooking at 75. Lowering the temp down to 66 (or lower) doesn’t seem to prompt the unit to turn on – so much for “gradually” allowing the room to warm up over the course of the night. I just purchased a Mysa unit to control the device, so we’ll see how effectively lobotomizing the unit’s own controls improves the functionality and usefulness of the product.Why three stars when the individual components are two stars? The overall design of the device is unique and one of the few that works well for those of us with slider windows. It seems as though the firmware might be upgradable, so I’m hoping that someone at Soleus reads this review and fixes a few of these issues – many of them are software or interface issues, not necessarily hardware issues (except perhaps the temp issue), so they may be fixable if there’s a possibility of an update. I would rate our 6000 cooling-only unit five stars in comparison and wish I had just gone with the 8000 unit as it likely would have been OK for our needs…. equating “inverter” with “quiet” as is generally the case with all other AC units was my own mistake.

I am an HVAC service, maintenance, installation technician and decided to purchase 2 of these units for my own home for a few reasons. The price for 20 SEER heat pumps is excellent. The reviews were good. I could get them delivered directly to my home. The units are up and running and I thought it would be good to share some insight from someone with 15+ years experience in HVAC repair.1. Delivery – excellent! All 4 units showed up together 3 days early and arrived in very good shape via Fed Ex.2. Installation – They do require professional installation. Fairly easy, mostly straightforward. The instructions are clear enough, unless this is something you have never done before. I did have a bit of trouble finding the correct clearances from walls and ceiling because it is different on the template than in the instructions, but eventually got it worked out. The indoor units were holding pressure when i took the caps off, presumably nitrogen. This confirms that they made it all the way from China with no leaks. The outdoor units have the refrigerant already in them. The two get installed, then connected with the pre-flared pipes (the flares looked good), then you need to pressure test and soap bubble the fittings, pull a deep vacuum on the lines before releasing the refrigerant. I saw where someone installed a sight glass and filter/drier. Neither are necessary for ductless but, as long as they are bolt-in, not brazed in, then its probably not hurting anything. Be sure to wrap ALL of the refrigerant piping and connections with the foam that is included. ANY exposed piping will sweat and drip water inside your walls, attic, etc. As for the drainage, the drain tube that comes with the unit is only about 7 feet long and the line sets and wiring are over 14 feet. This means you will need to extend the drain line if you are doing a second floor application. I just put the drain tube into a 3/4 inch pvc pipe and exited the house that way. It was not really an obstacle. The electrical circuit you will need should be determined by your electrician. I tried to find info on my particular units before they arrived but could only find general amp and wattage ratings. The only way to really know what size wire, breakers, fuses, disconnect, etc. you will need is to read it off the data plate on the heat pump when you get it to your house and out of the box. (at least, that’s my suggestion) The data plate will give you the volts, max and min circuit ampacities, fuses, etc. Mounting the indoor units – It is recommended to NOT mount them perfectly level. They should be tilted very slightly to whichever side your drain tube comes out (which is configurable). This is so water does not sit in the condensate pan and get gunked up with mildew and slime. That being said, I noticed that the cardboard templates that come with the indoor units are essential for marking your holes but they are not necessarily printed squarely on the cardboard! Use the PRINTED part, not the edges of the cardboard to square things up and you’ll have no problem.3. Operation – WOW! I cannot believe how quiet these are and how well they perform. I have worked on most brands and these are one of the quietest I have heard. They are on par with the other major brands that are a lot more expensive. After the installation, our 2 big bedrooms and bathroom upstairs cooled down really fast and stayed comfortable while the units were only pulling 1.9 ampsx120 volts = 228 watts!?! wow! I have not connected mine to wifi so cannot speak to the use of the app, etc., but all of that is available and included (other brands would require you to purchase additional accessories).4. Longevity – Only time will tell. Personally, i can do repairs if needed. I also purchased 2 complete identical units so that, if I ever need to replace one, I will be able to strip it for parts for the other one and it will still make good economic sense to me.5. Tech support – I don’t know about, but the seller did e-mail me to let me know their team is standing by if there is anything I need!Overall I am very happy with the decision to purchase these 2 units. My best advice would be to make sure the units you purchase are INVERTER, variable speed units. I think some of them are single speed but it is not exactly clear in the descriptions.Hopefully some of this helps you with your purchasing decision.

If you plan to purchase one, make sure you get one with the number of BTUs you need for the area you plan to cool or heat! Moving on, this unit had the best reviews and competitive pricing. I ordered directly from Senville through Amazon.com and the unit was at my house within two weeks.I decided to have a licensed HVAC technician install it to take advantage of the warranty (requires a licensed HVAC technician to do the installation). Finding a licensed HVAC technician for the installation was a little difficult. All the HVAC technicians in my area either stated they only install mini split air conditioners purchased directly from them, which are extremely overpriced for their BTUs, or wanted a crazy amount of money to do the installation. The easiest way to find a good HVAC technician for the installation is to go to Yelp.com and search for “Mini Split Installation” in your area. From the search results, use the Request a Quote button to get quotes for the installation. I was able to find two HVAC technicians who were willing to install this mini split air conditioner at an extremely reasonable price.The installation itself is easy. However, I recommend that the purchaser read the manual to know how the mini split air conditioner works and what to expect. Basically, make sure the following things are done during installation,- The lines are vacuumed and pressure tested to detect leaks- All connections are tight and made in accordance with the manualI’ve been using the Senville Leto 36000 BTU mini split air conditioner to both cool and heat my house for about two months now. It works perfectly!

Just received my acdc 12v air conditioner. Sadly first unit was not pre-charged with Freon, maybe leaked? Contacted velo solar and they met up with me in Goodyear AZ. To exchange unit!New unit is working great! Keeping my 128sf refrigerated truck box tiny home at temp all through the night no problem on my 600ah lifepo4 battery bank! Oil delivery called to say that oil had gone up to $5.15 (Sept. 2022), I told them to cancel the delivery and bought a mini!If you don’t know what you are doing don’t buy one like this, get a DIY mini like the Mr. Cool, it costs more but has preset lines.You have to evacuate this system, either hire a pro or buy the proper tools if you are capable of setting this up. I did it myself but I built, plumbed and wired my house. With that said, technical support was excellent, nice – real people.The unit itself is well made, like most newer mini’s it’s very quiet and super efficient. I got the 12k BTU Aura because I wanted the -22°F temperature capability. We’ve already seen (Nov 2022) 15°F and it still heats efficiently, at 30°F and 40°F it just coasts along. I’m still taking readings and monitoring its load at different outside temps so I won’t have all the figures for several months but, done carefully, you should expect good results.I left our other heating sources in and when it goes down below 0°F I light a fire in our efficient wood fireplace but otherwise it just keeps things at our set 67°F.I MIG welded a protective cover that has one side painted black for winter and the other white for summer cooling, it’s suspended over the outside unit. So far it’s kept the snow off and the temp up a few degrees when the sun is out.Glad I bought it, mini’s have come a long way in the last few years, this one has 25.5 SEER and a 13 HSPF. This is a solid company and I wanted that backup if I needed it.Recommended.
