  1. I guess I would give 2.5 stars if I could, balancing 5 stars for my child’s love of it vs 1 star for completely avoidable build issues.Pros: Looks good, 3 speeds to grow with your child’s driving ability (that you select with a key so it is tamper proof), plenty of power from the electric motor, kid loves it.Problems:-The rear U-shaped roll bar does not come pre-installed and has to be bolted together. I had defective thread on one of the bolts or internal threads and actually snapped a bolt off inside the U-bar when I was first assembling this. I received a new U-bar and bolts under warranty claim.-2nd issue with the U-bar is that the bolt holes on the frame were drilled vertically when they should have had some angle to them. As a result, there was literally a 2″ gap between the top of the brace and the U-bar (see photo). I had to force them together, bending the bolts in the process. I asked Go-Bowen customer support if this gap was normal and got NO response on this question.-Poor turning radius. There is a guy with a you-tube video who modified the steering mechanisms and achieved better results. I found that even with the wheels turned, the kart just wants to go straight because 1) no suspension to keep all four wheels on the ground 2) tires don’t have much tread 3) single rear axle forces the rear wheels to turn together (pros and cons to this but I think this kart would be better as single wheel drive). Obviously points 1 and 3 are just inherent design features and if you want suspension you are going to pay more. What can be done is use of a more aggressive tread. I am also going to attach some weight to the front frame. I have seen photos and videos of these karts with more aggressive tread. I’m not sure if they used to come with better tires or if these are after-market.-Also, regarding steering, the front tires came out of the shipping crate at angles to each other (i.e., not straight). I noticed after trying to figure out a way to get a better turning radius. I had to adjust the linkages to straighten the wheels.-I just had a right rear tire FALL OFF when I was moving this around in the garage and have submitted a claim to customer service for a new nut. The nut is gone, not to be found. It must have fallen off when my kid was riding it and fortunately he made it home. If that tire had fallen off when he was riding 1) he might have been hurt 2) 100% chance he would have been freaked out and 3) it would probably have damaged the disc brake. After the tire fell off, I checked and found all of the bolts to be barely hand tight. I pulled the cotter pins, tightened the bolts, and re-installed heavier duty cotter pins. In hindsight, I should have checked when the kart was shipped, but should this really have been a problem?-You’d think this would be quiet with an electric motor, but the chain makes a terrible noise because the sprocket on the motor does not align precisely with the gear on the axle and the chain is constantly catching and popping back into place. When I turn the rear wheels manually, there is a point in the rotation where there is so much resistance it takes two hands for me to overcome it. This has to be hard on the chain, sprockets, and motor. In fact, I just noticed metal shaving dust all over. I can’t help but wonder how long I have until I need to replace parts?-Finally, I don’t like the seat belt on this thing. The shoulder straps just fall off. I’m going to have to attach some harness guides to the top of the seat to prevent this.

  2. Update::My karts minipros are still working perfectly as new, and we love them. But it’s worth mentioning that Segway just started a Kickstarter campaign (as of 1-20-21) for the new Ninebot X max. This is the newest Segway, and it is different that the max or any other Ninebot. It has a 24 mph top speed when paired with the gokart, or the gokart pro, it has a 12.5 mph top speed as a stand on Segway. It will transform these original karts in to the newest fastest karts on the market. It’s nice that you only have to upgrade the Segway part and mot the whole kart to get the extra speed. They don’t come cheap, but they are an option if you need to go faster, and who doesn’t!!——————————————assembly and setup:Ninebot includes a tool for removing the knee bar from the ninebot S and the Minipro. its very simple and quick to use. It’s basically a clamp that turns in to a press and it presses the knee bar out similarly to a wheel bearing press.I’ll include a video later. My minipro did have the beeping issue when pairing to the go kart kit. It required a firmware update, and hard reboot to make that stop. Here are the steps from Ninebot, for this.HOW TO FIX BEEPING:“      Power off the miniPRO·        If the GoKart does not power off, remove the batteries from the steering column·        Disconnect the cables between the GoKart and miniPRO·        Remove the miniPRO from the GoKart·        Set the miniPRO upside down so the standing platform is level but opposite of the normal position·        Keep hair, long clothing, jewelry clear of the wheels·        Press the power button on·        The wheels will rotate about 1/4 turn in alternating directions·        Press the power button off·        Set the miniPRO right side up·        Power on the miniPRO·        Connect the miniPRO to the app·        Clear the cache (App > “Me” > “Settings” > “Clear Cache”)·        Check for any firmware updates, install as instructed (App > Tap the Gear Icon at top right > tap “Firmware Updates”)·        Try to download the tutorial again, even if you already did before (Clearing the cache will often clear the tutorial downloads)·        *** Make sure it is in GoKart mode. (If you have the GoKart Firmware update installed, you will find this setting by opening the App > Tap the gear icon in the upper right side > Tap the GoKart Mode icon > slide the slider to the right)·        Power off the miniPRO·        Reboot your phone·        Reinstall the miniPRO to the GoKart, making sure the straps and the cable are securely fastened.·        Power on the miniPRO. If you do not see a blue light on the steering column, replace the 6x AA batteries with fresh batteries. ”Now open the app, and select the minipro. Go in to settings in the app, and turn on the GoKart option. Now you should be all set to go through the tutorial, and start GoKarting. So far I’m giving this kit 4 stars. It’s function is awesome, and 5 stars all the way. But a few technical difficulties getting started, can be frustrating, and so I’m taking a star off for that.I’ll update this review after more use, but initially, I’ll proclaim these carts are awesome. I bought two from Amazon during the Black Friday sale. I got them for my 12 year old, and my 6 year old. My 12 year old did not really ask for anything specifically, but my 6 year old was very specific. He wanted a go cart and the big bucket of cheese balls. They are similar to cheese puffs. Well how do you say no to that. So I figured a toy like this would not be fun alone. This type of activity is a social thing. It might have been better to convince a neighbor to buy his kid one, rather than buy two, but what ever, I guess. So I bought two. I did not think my 13 year old would have much interest in this type of thing. He’s in to basketball, video games, and hanging out with buddies. So I left him out. Big mistake. He was a huge fan of the carts. So I’ll be acquiring a third one for a birthday. But remember that whole social thing, 3 really is better in this situation. It does not hurt that our neighborhood has 8 foot sidewalks throughout, and there is a closed course area at a nearby business, that is closed on weekends. It resembles an F1 track, and it’s a ton of fun to ride over there.Back to my six year old. Upon receiving his gift, he sort of looked stunned. His momma asked what he thought, and he said,”I can’t put in to words how happy I am.” It was a pretty profound statement from a 6 year old child, and our hearts swelled with joy. It’s that type of experience every parent craves, when giving a gift. Some toys are just plastic fillers, because we know we need to give a gift. This toy is something that our children can experience together, outside, while having a blast. I have donated lots of unused toys, that our kids play with one time and forget about. I have thrown out or recycled even more that were badly designed and broke quickly. This toy is well designed and constructed. It’s fit and finish are solid, if you follow the difficult to follow, and lacking, instructions. After the start up glitches, these carts functions perfectly. They do not require attachment to a phone, beyond initial setup. But phone attachment offers additional features, and functions. I set both carts up, with one iPhone. But these must be done one at a time. After setup is complete, you can simply power on the attached Segway minipro, or ninebot S, and go. You don’t have to select gokart mode in app each time or anything. I worried that I might have to set each cart up on a separate device, and those devices must be present anytime we want to operate the carts. That is not the case. My kids can go out the garage and start up the carts, independently, with no iPhone present. There are a few ways to manually disable the carts making them very difficult for the uninitiated, to be able to use. One would be, to remove the connector extension cable and put it in a secure location. It would be very difficult to use the cart with out that.I have personally ridden these, and even as a 6 foot 225 lb adult male, the carts are fast and fun. The tires grip the road, as you would expect from a race car, and they handle like they are on rails. The Segways operate virtually silently, with just a gentle hum. It’s a really cool experience. The carts have no suspension, but the pneumatic tires give the carts a fairly smooth ride. Other neighborhood kids were out using their new toys, and none appeared to have the ride, or drive capabilities, of these well engineered carts. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I hope all future Segway/nineBot transporters have gokart mode, and hopefully distance and speed upgrades will come with those. The new ninebot S pro is faster and has double the range. If that works with these carts, that would be awesome. Though I suspect the added speed comes from the 11 inch tires on the S pro, versus the 10 inch tires on the minipro/nineBot S. Those upgrades are currently available to the MP, and the S. I’ll be doing that when we wear out the current tires.I really want to upgrade these carts to 5 stars, because after the initial setup headache, the experience is fantastic. But I think I’ll leave it, because the star rating is for buyers, and they need to know the first part of their experience is going to be a bit of a struggle. I was able to get right through to tech support, and I was able to fairly quickly solve my problem. I hope that’s the case for each of you, though if you follow my instructions above, you may not even need to call. This review is too long, so I’ll end it here. I hope you love your cart as much as my family loves ours! Please note, I paid the full sale price available to any amazon shopper at my time of purchase. I was not incentivized in any way for my review. My words are based on my experience, and expectations with and for this product.

  3. Update #2: 3 years later, these still work great!! They’re still a blast to drive as well. We recently got a Tesla, and it’s a similar experience.Update::My karts minipros are still working perfectly as new, and we love them.

  4. My 12 year old son, who is 5’2″ and 90lbs, received this for Christmas and he loves it. It works fantastic. He’s ridden it almost every day for the past month, and he still enjoys it.*Update: removed a star (down to 4).* After using the cart almost every day for two months, the internal wiring between the steering column and the battery developed a short in it and the cart would only move if the steering wheel was pointed in one specific direction. After some googling I learned that this is a common problem for the Crazy Cart. To fix the issue I had to take the internals out and replace the wires that had developed the shorts in them, which took me a couple of hours. A product that costs as much as this one does shouldn’t require this type of maintainance so quickly, so I removed a star. After fixing the issue my son has continued to enjoy using the cart almost every day (it’s been three months now since he originally received it).*Update 2 (September 2021)* It’s been a little over 9 months since we purchased this, my kid is now almost 110lbs (crazy growth spurt!), and he still loves the cart. However, at this point it’s definitely not something I would recommend for anyone that isn’t willing (or able) to get their hands dirty and troubleshoot the issues on it. From our experience, some of the wiring needed to be replaced at about 2 months and then it needed it again a few months later (hopefully I did a better job the second time around!), the front tire needs to be replaced every 4 months or so (depending on the usage, I would assume), the front plastic stabilizer pegs needs to be replaced after about 6 months, and the on/off switch is currently blinking and will need to be replaced soon as well. I’ve spent roughly $90 on parts in the 9 months that we’ve had it so far, and about 20 hours repairing it. As long as you go into it knowing that it’s not a maintenance free toy, go ahead and buy it… your kid (boy or girl) will love it!*Update 3 (June 2022)* It has now been a year and a half since we purchased this, and my son still enjoys it but only rides it from time to time. He is now 5’8″ and 125 lbs (the crazy growth spurt continues!), so he a little bit scrunched up when he rides the go cart nowadays. At this point, in addition to the maintenance mentioned in my previous comments, we’ve also had to purchase a set of additional back wheels (about 6 months ago), and the battery no longer holds a charge longer than 10 minutes, so we are looking at replacing that as well. It’s a fun toy for sure, but it requires quite a bit of continuous maintenance to keep it going!

  5. My kid loves it! Road it everyday for about 3weeks and the tire went low, so i aired it up but the second time it wont take air. He wore the tire out until it popped moreless. I ordered a new tire, I just thought he woukd have got more than a 3 weeks out of it before it was wore out. But overall cant say anything but good he os thrilled with it.

  6. My sons and I have had Segway S machines since Christmas and we’ve really enjoyed them. We considered getting the Go Kart kit for them but when I saw this I waited until Segway Ninebot released this to the pubic. The box it came in was all beat up, and some of the Styrofoam was broken, but the actual go kart was in perfect shape. It pretty much comes assembled fully. You just have to spend about 15 to 20 minutes putting the little pieces together and then plug it in for a full charge.I was skeptical about how well this is built until I got it. This thing is SOLID! The pedals are well-made, the frame feels very sturdy, steering assembly is solid, the speaker is a nice piece of equipment, the handbrake works incredibly well and I never feel any instability at any speed. A couple of people have ridden this that well-exceed 220 lbs and they were able to achieve the top speed. I did buy a compatible speedometer from eBay which costs like $40 to $50 at the time. Not sure what it is now. That is my only real complaint. They should have included a speedometer. So, all I have to say is WOW! This is nothing but pure fun. The acceleration is phenomenal. Much better than the standard gas combustion go karts you use on fun park tracks. It really puts you back in your seat like you are driving a Lamborghini (which I have driven) but it tops out at 23 mph. So basically you are at full speed in about 1 to 1.5 seconds. This thing is VERY low to the ground, but you do have enough clearance to avoid smashing the front on most entryways to driveways and sidewalks. You need to be really careful and use the flag it comes with. Cars are going to have a very hard time seeing you around any objects. I would be very apprehensive letting any child drive this on any public road in any neighborhood because of that reason alone. Try not to be too cool for helmets and extra pads for your knees and elbows. You never know when you have to make a really sharp emergency turn to avoid something and flip this over even though it would be hard to do (it is possible though).Because you’re so low, and obviously you are wide open to the outside, the 23 mph top speed is going to feel much faster than 23 mph in a car. That is what Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain at Disney World achieves for speed even though it seems much faster. This will satisfy a lot of thrill seekers. The steering is pretty sweet once you get used to it. At first it seems very jerky but it isn’t meant to be precise at slow speeds without power steering. After a while you’ll realize that it performs nicely at high speeds and rounding corners at high speeds is great once you get the hang of it. I have NOT been able to drift in this go kart because the roads in my neighborhood need to be paved. It’s impossible to drift. I need to find a place where the surface is smooth enough and then I’ll report back on it.The speaker really is a neat aspect of this. It is rechargeable but one thing to note is that it does take a while to recharge. It synchronizes with the pedals so that when you push the gas it revs up like a race engine. It is done almost perfectly. As you accelerate the sound becomes far-more aggressive. Not using this leaves you with a silent ride which isn’t nearly as much fun. You can also synch your iPhone to it and play your music instead, but I’d rather use the engine sounds. The only thing I didn’t like about it is that it did not come with English instructions. Just Chinese – I don’t know if that is something they forgot to put in there, or they just counted on people figuring it out. It wasn’t hard and the Segway app picked it up right away. The lighting effects are cool but the green headlight on this is basically useless in terms of illuminating what is in front of you. I imagine they did not put real headlights on this because they don’t want people driving at night in this. I imagine you can find external, battery operated lights to mount on both sides if you wanted to. I might try that down the road, but for now I’ll keep the night rides to a minimum. This comes with a knee-bar if you want to take the Ninebot S-Max out of it and use it like the Segway S models (hoverboard style). It’s better than what comes with the S, but it does not come with the full extension bar that you steer with your hands like purchasing the Ninebot S-Max separately gives you. I imagine that Ninebot will eventually offer this as an accessory but as of today they do not. This was a impulse purchase, but it is so much fun. The only issue is that there aren’t many places around to ride it. Even in my neighborhood, people park on the side of the road during the day and it gets hard to see cars coming. We’re going to find other places to take this to. This is a no-brainer if you’re looking for something really fun and aren’t worried about the cost.

  8. 10. Cart was a great surprise! It seems very durable, has good power and speed… 11yo boy is large for it but fits fine… I even drove it at 6’1” 230lb! Time will tell on how it holds up, but two thumbs up at this point!

  12. The media could not be loaded.  Best packaging of the cart I have ever seen. The kart came in a welded and bolted steel frame that provided a rigid frame under the box. It was easy to assemble the roll bar and the rest was already assembled. The 3 speeds give parents a good way to allow kids to build up their skills safely. I had kids from 7 year old to 14 ride the cart.Fit Right Products has an excellent customer service. They respond to messages but also have a phone number where a real live person will talk to you about your order. They will also call you back. Shipper lost my order and Fit Right handled it beautifully. They gave me a discount for my trouble and shipped a replacement. Normally a lost order is a time when you discover the true nature of seller and Fit Right proved themselves to be a great seller.

  14. We bought one after my son played on his cousin’s crazy cart. Son has enjoyed it but this is the 3rd time the tire pops in less than a year for no apparent reason. He’s 10 years old. Not overweight or rather, under the weight limitations and it isn’t due to him driving over nail or sharp things!

  15. I bought two of these about a week apart from eachother, the first one the brakes are messed up, only the left brake works so when my son presses the brake he swerves hard left, the right brake could probably be tightened but it should come out of the box in working condition, I shouldn’t have to fix something (i paid this much for) straight out of the box. It is fun and a good idea, everything else works fine, but it’s not worth the price, i would value this at $200, going over the materials used and the construction, I can not find why the price is so high, maybe if they included a hoverboard it’d be worth it, you could get an electric and/or gas powered go-kart for this price. For these reasons I didn’t open the second one when i received it a week later, a couple weeks later when i finally had the time a loaded this big thing into my car and took it to UPS to return it to Amazon, that was 3 weeks ago and i still haven’t got a refund, i would return the one i still have if i still had the box, but then again who knows if I’d ever get the refund, so far I’m already out $412 after tax for the one i sent back and still haven’t been refunded (this is an Amazon issue, not a product issue), so I’ll just keep the first one and try to fix the brakes. Overall all conclusion: it’s a good and fun idea, but not worth the money, yet my12 year old son does have fun with it, my 7 year old son doesn’t use it cause the brake issue scares him, I can not say whether or not i recommend since i haven’t experienced the product how it’s meant to be experienced with working brakes even though i find the price high, but it is in the right price range for products in this category, all i have is my experience to give you, thank you for reading my long review

  16. Liked the product fine ….battery could last a little longer

  17. This is a really great little go kart. The kids love to whip around on it. Biggest warning: there are NO BRAKES!! We have a slight hill to a good part of our driveway, and then a steeper part up the top. The road is also a bit of a hill. Kids won’t go up there due to lack of ability to slow down. Very important to keep in mind!!

  18. The first was broken. The first we received did not work because the chain drive was not connected to the sprocket underneath the cart. It was a hassle to have to repackage the cart, load it into the car ( it was heavy )and drive an hour to a UPS store to return it. We have a new cart now and it seems to be working fine.
