Me: A foodie dad in the USA who loves to grill and has a couple decades of experience with serious grilling, smoking and outdoor roasting, up to and including whole hogs. Also, I’m an engineering geek that notices things that many less technical people overlook. You: Somebody who wonders if a portable grill is worth owning. My review: (This first review is being written after owning the grill for a week and using it several times. I promise to post updates as regards durability or other emerging issues)I like this grill, and here’s why. It’s well built. All stainless, quality fittings, includes a heavy gauge propane fitting (note: uses a standard 20lb propane tank, not a camp bottle). It zooms up to 600 degrees (F) in less than ten minutes, and cools to the point I can remove the grate with my bare hand within twenty minutes after I turn it off. The built-in thermometer is accurate and agile (it reflected with perfect accuracy that it was 100F in the Carolinas the first day I set it up). Initial setup required no tools and was no more difficult than unboxing, unfolding, and placing the burner covers and cooking grill in the right place. My first cook were some gigantic boneless chicken breasts I bought at Sams. I thought they were big in the store, but when I removed them from the package for marinating, I double-checked to make sure they weren’t turkey breasts… more than an inch thick at the wing-turn even after I broke them out for grilling. I was able to cook them perfectly with the right amount of char by paying attention… even with vegetables on the grill beside them.Steaks were next, and I got a perfect medium rare NY strip in 8 min after preheat.Every working surface is stainless steel, even the burner shields and the bottom of the oven, which makes cleanup easy. The legs fold up and the lid latches to the side, so that you can carry the grill like a suitcase and store it either horizontally or vertically (like you’d store a suitcase). When they say tabletop, they aren’t kidding. I stuck a thermometer on the table under the grill after it was preheated to see how much heat transferred. The air temperature rated only 5 degrees above ambient, and I couldn’t detect the difference with my fingers. There is a sealed bottom design with a large capacity, removable (slides out to the side) drip tray (also stainless steel) which collects an estimated 2 quarts of drippings, so there’s no reasonable way you could overflow onto your tabletop unless you’re cooking 50+ cheap burgers at a go. I’m confident that you could cook 4 steaks and 8 pieces of chicken inside on your dining room table without messing up anything if you disable the smoke detectors. What you need to know:1. The dome is very shallow. You won’t be able to cook a whole ham in here, although a pork shoulder just fits.2. The stainless steel is well engineered, but light gauge. This is to enhance portability and (undoubtedly) reduce cost of manufacture. This means that it heats up and cools down quickly, which is convenient if you’re moving the grill around and cleaning it, but inconvenient if you want to heat up a grill and have it hold its temperature, which leads us to my next point…3. The light gauge steel plus the shallow dome means that opening the grill top to turn or braise will cost you at least 50F, and often 100F. It only takes 1 minute to regain heat again, but purists should take note. This is why I call it a performance bike.4. Because it cools quickly and all the surfaces are stainless steel, I was able to serve dinner, eat, and then remove the cooktop, burner covers, and drip tray and put them in the dishwasher along with the rest of the dishes. This was my favorite feature of the grill… I’ve never had one that I could clean with a dishwasher, and using the same schedule I’d use to clean up the kitchen after dinner. This one feature was worth almost as much as I paid for the grill.5. Indirect cooking was super easy due to the 2-burner configuration and the shallow dome. You can turn on one side, sear your meat, and then move it to the other side of the grill to finish cooking. When you close the lid with the shallow dome, this works better than it works on a Coleman kettle grill. Will post updates.
Excelent product, 100% recommended
Made specifically for the Everdure Hub. Fits like a thick, beautiful glove.
It really is a nice grill. I received mine with a bent cover lid. I was sent two replacements both bent and damaged in shipping. The cover lid is too flimsy. The left telescoping pole for the rotisserie will not lock flat for storage. I was promised that a part would be sent for that and a rep would schedule an appointment. It’s been a month so Everdure decided to refund all my money and keep the grill. I thought that was generous I guess based on the price of the grill. I guess it could not be fixed. I will probably donate the grill to charity and buy something different. will add a picture later
Not bad for an affordable grill. Some parts came with rust. Overall it’s simple to assemble following the instructions. A little low as far as height but it will work.Overall, I think it will make many tummies happy.
Has solid heavy duty grates and a temp gauge which is nice to have. Its a little bit on the small side though. Big enough to make a meal for a family, but not big enough to headline the July 4th BBQ.
It’s ok but don’t expect a pure Webber. The crates are thin specially the one that attaches to the struts for wheels, won’t firmly hold a charcoal stater chimney.
Purchased this at the $398.00 price point. Never heard of the brand before. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the build and materials. Very rich-looking. The lighted knobs are cool. Assembles easily with clear instructions. Most of the screws are already pre-threaded so the parts just slot together and then you tighten the screws. Screwdriver was the only tool required. Solid packaging so everything arrived in good condition. A little bit of Styrofoam but mostly recyclable cardboard. Took about an hour to assemble. Recommend.
i ordered this grill after my 20 year-old Weber Genesis finally gave up the ghost. I live in New England and I do not grill year-round, so I did not want to drop $1700 on a new Weber. I looked at several of the grills on Amazon and all of the Monument grills had good reviews, so I gave it a shot. I ordered it on Thursday and it showed up on Saturday (two days ahead of when Amazon said it would arrive), so that was good.It comes in a very large box (about 4′ x 3′ x 2′) and all of the parts and pieces were well-packed. In fact, it took about 20 minutes to unpack everything, lol. After unpacking everything, I looked through the manual and got an idea about how to put it together. The manual is okay and it took me about 5 hours to put the grill together from start to finish. Others have said that it took them about an hour to put it together- they must have had a NASCAR pit crew working for them. lolA couple of tips I would recommend would be to use a power screwdriver; I used the Philips head bit on my Black and Decker cordless drill. This grill requires screwing a lot of large and small screws, so a cordless drill is a must. Also, if you have a headlamp, use that as well, since it illuminates the different parts of the grill that you are trying to assemble. Finally, do not discard the box after opening. If you do not have a designated workbench or table, the box serves as a great substitute. I did not want to be bending over all the time trying to screw in all the screws they give you. Once I was halfway done, I put the grill on the floor and then flipped the box on its side and used it as a place to keep the clear plastic container that held all the screws, etc. When it was finished, I rolled it outside on my deck, connected the propane tank, and gave it a test run. I made some burgers for my son and I. They turned out well. There is a thermometer in the front of the grill that tells the temperature inside the grill for that just-right cooking level.Admittedly, this grill is not as solid as my old Weber (it’s made of very thin stainless steel, so be careful when you are driving those screws in), but it is is about 1/5th the price, so you get what you pay for. It worked for what I needed it to do, so I am a happy customer. I am looking forward to more delicious meals on my new Monument gas grill.
This grill cover is of high quality material and has a drawstring which makes it very easy to cover the grill and ensure it stays covered.
This grill is the perfect edition to our backyard oasis. Of course, my husband takes all the compliments from grilling!!! Lol
Gift was loved by grandpa. Easy assembly my husband did it himself in less than 30 minutes. The knob’s are great for night grilling and I suggest getting a cover to keep it looking new
This is the nicest grill I have ever owned. Absolutely love the grill grates, sears food effortlessly. The rotisserie burner is also a nice feature.
Looks sturdy haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet!
Takes about three hours to put together, not hard just time consuming. Look at the pictures closely and you will not have a problem. Just the right size for the deck.
Grill arrived without any issues. It is a reasonably difficult assembly so if you’re not a person that is good at putting things together you might want to find someone to help you with it. One person can handle it, but you want to remove the things from inside the grill before you try to lift it and mount it on the base. I was missing a couple of the small A1 sheet metal screws that come with the grill, but I can find these at the hardware store. Also, the issue where the side burner doesn’t seem to ignite properly and the suggestion by the manufacturer that you use a match is a little bit weird to me. But I don’t use the side burners anyway, so not a problem. While the assembly is difficult as mentioned, the parts go together well, and the grill overall is very sturdy, if you do it right. I recommend this grill, and getting it shipped to the house was infinitely better than trying to go to Lowes or Home Depot these days and dealing with what goes on there with the terrible service. Also, buying a pre-assembled grill wasn’t an option for me because It would not fit in my vehicle.
I read the reviews and was skeptical at first but boy am I glad I made the purchase! It came in a box that exposed the product so my trailer park buddies were already very interested before I even got home. I told them that it was small and mighty and a bear to assemble to save a little face. I invited them over for a couple adult beverages to let them enjoy the show. They all brought their wives and kids too. I could have had this thing assembled in no longer than 5 minutes but I brought out the Loctite, a drill and a few extra screws. I went WAY overboard to make this thing hurricane proof just to show off. Added permanent Loctite to every nut and bold and even drilled through the bottom bowl three times. Yes…I told them this is how real men assemble grills and they were all in awe. I should patent this part but I’ll just share it with my Amazon friends. I placed three 1/4 inch stainless steel bolts (one inch long) inside the grill. I placed these directly under the top grill plate and you can nearly stand on the grill plate now! Grill plate has no wobble and no chance of any food sliding into the hot coals. I prolonged the assembly for the crowd as long as I could and by the end, everybody wanted to know how much it costs because they wanted to pick one up for their family (early Christmas gift). When all was said and done, half the trailer park already ordered their own and we are already talking about a trailer park grill off competition during the holidays. I’ve cooked on it once and several other singlewide neighbors came out and wanted to know all about it. They loved the smell of my seasoned squirrel and vowed to get a grill of their own. I was once just “one of the guys” at my trailer park. Now due to this reinforced cooking piece of art, I am now “The Man”. Everybody says hi to me now and they always talk about what they are gonna cook on their awesome little red grill next. We all named our grills too. They are like part of the family. I named mine “Beaver Cleaver”. Amazon friends…put in a couple hours overtime and save up for this grill. You will love it and I promise you won’t regret it. It not only makes great food but it will also make you great friends. Cheers!

Cheers!
Though I checked “Deliver to back door” option when ordering, it nevertheless was left at the front door. (a bit of a bear to get moved) :o( But, scheduled, Professional assembly gave me this marvelous grill… in 90 minutes! :o) Tested searing + grilling 1 inch ribeyes for last night’s dinner. EXcellent! :o)=)
The grill is ideal for two people. And that’s not home I whole lot of charcoals meaning that you cannot cook a whole lot of food. That’s enough grilling space for about two people. Likewise the amount of charcoal it holds is enough for two people. Yes but everything gets hot I did burn my thumb on the first use. It has three clips on the side so you can use to snap the top part down and it keeps the two grills inside from coming out and getting lost. I would not use the clips to keep the top part in place when it’s hard and see how about 99% chance of getting burned if you put the clips when it’s hot. I got burned taking the what I thought was burnt charcoal out. Very lightweight and easy to carry around that part was great but it’s actual use it’s not that great cuz it’s just too small. For a family picnic I would not buy again if I were single and just had a girlfriend I totally would buy again.
We are full time RVing, used this grill to give us a way to cook outside. I replaced unit gas line connection with another to allow us to plug directly into our outside RV connection.Plenty of room to cook for two of us.A word of caution, the cut edges of vents are very sharp. When wiping out grease from inside, I sliced off the tip of my knuckle, OUCH.
Bought this for my husbands birthday. It was a bit tedious to put together, however it was worth it. Been waiting to write a review until we’d used a few times. Although it says it cooks evenly on all burners. Anyone who’s grilled before knows that’s not going to happen, I will say it’s pretty darn close easy to use and easy to clean.
This grill is really nice looking and grills the steaks really well. I love the glass window
Love the grill & all it’s features.
Geat sear, very happy The grill warmed up quickly, our steaks cooked evenly (after our old grill, I would say ‘perfectly’). I used a basket for asparagus – everything turned out well. The grill looks well-made, no obvious flaws. I’m happy with this purchase
We just downsized house wise and needed a smaller grill for our backyard patio. This one assembled easily, probably 45 minutes or so by myself, and was very intuitive to put together. There were a couple points during assembly that was a tad confusing, but easy enough to figure out. Heat distribution has been fantastic, the blue lights are awesome, lights up super quick too. I do wish it was a bit heavier weight wise, but just be sure to lock the wheels so a wind storm won’t blow it over (I made that mistake). For the price this is an incredible grill.
We have a large pit and wanted something more managable for the small amount we grill. We just place it on a tv tray and it fits nicely under our large grill when not in use
Bought this out of necessity having been a lump charcoal person all my life. This grill is of good quality and went together easily. Directions fine. Sturdy packing. Several points: two burners are a must to replicated the charcoal experience – building fire to one side, etc. The temp control is nicely fine-tuned. Two big checks. My experience: line it with foil before using and save some mess. And deploy the flare guards. Keep drippy meats position directly over them while cooking. Chicken thighs and pork ribs, a must. I’m really warming up to this thing.
This seller has rectified the problem I had with this grill and I am happy to recommend them
This grill was exactly what I was looking for however it really requires two people to assemble it. It was very difficult for me to assemble it by myself and it took me over two hours to do it. The only flaw that I found was a dent on the side of the grill as you can see from the photo. But other than that it’s a very nice grill.
I like the looks of the grill and it looks like it will work fine. It was not hard to assemble but the instructions could be a little clearer. It was bent in one place but I got it straightened out with out much trouble. The box did not appear to be damaged. The mounting place for the propane tank is not great but it will work, I may try to improve that in the future. The burners ignite nice with each one having a starter spark. I think it was worth the money spent.
Decent grill for price. Seems a bit flimsy though. Will take at least 2 hrs and plenty of patience to assemble.
ok
Not sure if this is the samefor all these products, but ours had no instructions other then the pack of hardware referring to part numbers that were not labeled. Took 3 hours, 500 pieces…. we even had to assemble the piezo ignition system😳. Other then that it’s been a good grillfor the money.
My OLD grill fell apart on Thanksgiving Day and I had to patch it up to roast my Large Chicken… it is a 3 year old Char-Broil that I use a lot.** I purchased this one because the cost of everything is rising , I haven’t assembled and used this yet, I will put it into use when the patch job on the old one fails . Probably in the Spring. I am giving this review based on my use of the product experience I have had over the years. I have always bought Char-Broil.The Price point on this unit is a great value, Its the smaller size because I usually only cook 3 or 4 burgers or a couple chicken breasts on it at one time…. Sometimes I like to cook Fish or Fry chicken in a cast iron skillet and not have the odors in the house So the side burner works well for me. If this one gives me as good a service as the last one , Ill be happy. So for me this is a good deal !!!
I’ve had a bunch of barbecue grills. This one is the best by far because it doesn’t have useless doo-dads and gee-haws. No digital b.s., timers, probes etc. Cooks evenly. You determine how much of the grill to utilize. Vegetables on top, meat below. No fat fires (at least yet!) I would buy this again if it wears out.
I love this BBQ! It took about an hour and a half to put together. Reasonably easy. Cooks amazing. Probably my favorite BBQ. I love the lighting it provides as well. Perfect for all my outdoor cooking needs. Excellent Q for this pricing.
This propane gas grill is easy to install, and you can easily complete the installation in half an hour according to the instructions in the manual! Two collapsible shelves expand the grilling space, put sauces, tongs, etc. on it, so you won’t be in a hurry! The PORCELAIN-ENAMEL grill is clean and easy to clean, the oil catcher under the grill works great, but I personally recommend putting a greaseproof and fireproof blanket on the floor under the grill, you can find it on Amazon! All in all I love this grill and I will recommend it to my friends! For safety: Keep flammable items such as wood, paper, etc. 3 feet away from the grill!
Item was easy to assemble to my amazement.Used it once and was surprised at the ease of clean up.Excellent choice on my part.
Green mountain grills is the best out there, so you can never go wrong buying one. Very very sturdy and well bult. Everything comes out great on it. My favorite are burgers. 450 degree’s for 20 min, ( 10 minutes a side)
