What is a Bladeless Fan?

A bladeless fan is able to propel air without any use of fan blades. Different types of bladeless fans are available on the market, including oscillating electric fans as well as ceiling fans. Bladeless fans operate by pulling air in with a motor and propelling it back out via an internal impeller. Bladeless fans are far more allergy friendly than conventional fans: they collect and spread less dust, and can come equipped with air filtering systems.

The bladeless ceiling fan was pioneered by a company called Purifan. The company created a fan system in which air is drawn in by motors, cleansed by a HEPA filter, and dispensed throughout the room. The filter and absence of blades ensure circulating air has far fewer allergens than a conventional ceiling fan. Bladeless ceiling fans consume about as much energy as a normal fan and are able to disseminate air fairly quickly.

In 2009, Sir James Dyson, the English inventor known for the bagless vacuum cleaner, debuted a bladeless version of the standard room fan. This type of bladeless fan is able to oscillate back and forth as a normal electric fan would, and claims to be able to produce a stronger and more streamlined current of air. The bladeless fan stands on a base with air streaming through a ringed portal resembling a jet turbine. Air is drawn in by a motor in the base and impelled outward through the cylindrical aperture. Using airflow technology called inducement, air behind the fan is sucked in and carried with the current of air being propelled outward. Another process called entrainment, in which air below and above the fan is pulled into the air stream, also makes for a more powerful current of air. According to Dyson, these processes make the current of air generated by the fan fifteen times stronger.

Bladeless fan manufacturers claim to eliminate the choppy airflow generated by blades. With motors and impellers, the air current resembles more of a solid stream, as opposed to waves of air. Not only is the air flow more consistent, but it may also be cooler given the advent of air cooling systems located inside than fan. The possibility of stronger and cleaner currents of air, coupled with the removal of potentially dangerous and choppy blades, makes the bladeless fan not merely a sleek and futuristic oddity, but perhaps a practical investment in an efficient alternative to the conventional fan.

  1. Although not perfectly silent this circulating fan system is much quieter than the other fans we’ve tried over the years. We have no trouble sleeping through the night with this fan running 24/7. We bought two of them, one for the Master bedroom and one for our front hall. We did this as an experiment to try and improve the circulation of cooled air in our house. We live in an area where air conditioning is not required and thus most houses don’t have forced air systems optimized to move cold air, relying on the natural rising of hot air, and thus having the air plenums come up through the floors rather than through vents high on the walls or in the ceiling. We added air conditioning to our system about 20 years ago and experimented with a few fans in the Summer to try and get the cold air coming up through the floor moved up higher into the rooms we occupy. All the commercial systems we investigated to apply over a vent to push air up turned out to be too noisy to sleep with. So this year I decided to try something different and in researching different fan systems I ran into this design. We put them in more than 6 weeks ago and the results have been excellent. They move a lot of air in a rather broad swath and at a moderate to low noise level. For the front hall we placed a unit next to one of the floor vents and put it in the 90 degree sweep mode and its been running full time ever since with no issues. We placed the second unit in the master bedroom, also in 90 degree sweep mode, next to a vent and it, too, does a great job of lifting the cooled air higher into the room and spreading it throughout. These units have a prominent display of the current temperature easy to read from across a room. They have proved to be very reliable so far running 24/7.The manual provided with the units is marginal though. It talks about the automatic mode of fan control which one might think had something to do with managing fan speed based on prevailing temperature but it has no explanation of what the rules are that the automatic mode is based on, making a vague reference to it having an algorithm. And whatever the algorithm is, in our application seems to have no effect since we only very rarely see the fan speed change. It typically runs at its highest speed all the time. But as I said, the fan is quiet enough to sleep through, moves a large volume of air across a broad range, and is mindful of a cool breeze outdoors as it quietly moves side to side. The remote control is handy when you have the fan moving back and forth as it allows you to set things while the fan is operating. But the symbols they use are not the best. But we really don’t use the remote but for intial setup – and since then it’s been flawless.I liked the fact that the base, and therefore the power cord, can be set to one of 4 positions when installing onto the unit making it easy to keep the power cord relatively hidden and away from your feet when walking by the unit.I’ve been using a Honeywell T9 thermostat for over a year now and we just got our July air conditioning usage e-mail report for this July compared to last July. And in that comparison it appears we’ve reduced our air conditioning usage nearly 40% over last year, in part due to these fans, in part due to 1 degree higher set points which we’ve found to be just as comfortable thaks to the new air circulation, and in part dealing with this years 1 degree lower average high thanks to the fire smoke from California and parts West of us. So I can’t say the fans are responsible for all of that but we’re convinced they are a big component of that savings because of how they’ve improved the airflow generally on the main floor of the house.Although too early to judge overall reliability, the unit appears well made, although largely plastic, and it functions as needed, so I highly recommend it!

  2. Dreo vs Lasko Tower Fans–Which Should You Buy?Summer is coming, and everyone could use a little more cooling on hot summer days. Gone are the days of box fans or awkward top heavy circular oscillating fans. Today, when people need a little extra air flow, they go for a tower fan with a remote. As you might expect, there is a dizzying array of choices available. In this article, we’ll compare the Lasko 2511 with a new option on the market, the Dreo. 36” tower fan. Both of these fans offer a quality experience, but which should you buy?Air FlowAs you would expect, fan speed, or more specifically, the wind speed of the air leaving the fan, is probably the most important consideration when selecting one. You want something that will move air! Both the Lasko and Dreo tower fans offer multiple speeds to customize your cooling comfort. The Lasko has three speeds, the lowest bing really gentle, with the highest being significant enough to be felt 8 feet away. The Dreo, on the other hand, has four speeds available. 1, 2, and 3 are pretty comparable to the feel of the Lasko. However, speed 4 is noticeably more powerful than what the Lasko offers. It’s also worth mentioning that the Lasko oscillates over a 45° spread, while the Dreo has a 90° oscillation. So overall, the Dreo is going to move air over a larger area, but ultimately it seems like this difference is going to come down to a matter of preference.NoiseThe noise level of both fans is pretty comparable, with the Dreo being noticeably quieter at lower speeds. From three feet away, at speed 1, the Dreo registers at a whisper quiet 34 dB, while the Lasko is 44 dB. You have to get the Dreo up to speed 3 to hit 44 dB, and at that speed, the Lasko only goes up to 47 dB. Basically ,the Lasko doesn’t add much more noise at the different speeds. The Dreo does have that extra speed 4 that cranks up the noise a bit with the wind speed. At speed 4, the Dreo runs at 48 dB.The Dreo has an extra feature that Lasko is lacking. You can mute the button sounds. This is handy if you want to make adjustments without interrupting the quiet.DesignThe design of these two fans is similar, but also so markedly different that it’s hard not to remark on it.Lasko, as with many of their products, has opted for a functional, utilitarian design that gets the job done. It doesn’t look particularly bad, but it’s not great either. The light indicators let you know what your settings are, but they’re just dots of lights next to numbers. In the case of the sleep timer, they even require you to do math to know what the timer is set on. And the numbers you’re looking at are printed on the fan, not backlit. So you’re going to have to turn on the light to check your settings if you’re in a dark room. The Dreo, on the other hand, looks like a work of modern art, with its all black design, and the big LED screen. You won’t have any problem knowing what speed the fan is set to or what the sleep timer is set on. No moving closer to inspect tiny numbers printed on the casing. The design differences carry through to the remotes. The Lasko remote is functional, if unsightly, while the Dreo is beautiful and sleek (and the Dreo remote also comes with a battery; the Lasko doesn’t).Ease of UseTo be honest, any fan is pretty dead simple to use, but some are easier than others. In the case of these two, the Lasko comes with fairly simple instructions: push the power button to turn on, adjust the speed, etc.The Dreo has similarly simple instructions, but also has some additional options (mute, auto mode, natural mode, etc.).Also, the Dreo instructions are delivered in a much more appealing and professionally polished package, which I can’t ignore. Providing an instruction booklet like this sends a message to your customers that you take their experience seriously. One feature of the Dreo that isn’t included in the instructions is the easy to remove and clean back panel. If you’ve ever run a fan for any amount of time, you know that you’ll be dealing with dust buildup. With the one screw panel removal, the Dreo makes that much simpler. The back panel on the Lasko looks like you’ll have to remove six screws, but I’m not sure if it’s really designed to remove and clean.ConclusionChoosing from a wide selection of very similar products can be daunting at the best of times. For something like a tower fan, there’s really just not that much to the hardware to differentiate one from the other, but Dreo does manage to bring a more compelling product to the market. With quieter operation, a large and bright LED display, more features, a more appealing design, and a better user experience, the Dreo 36” tower fan really does offer a better product than the Lasko 2511. And you’ll pay $10 more for that difference, as the Lasko only costs 59.99, while the Dreo retails for 69.99. Whether or not the upgrades are worth the extra expense is really up to you, but for a product that will last for years to come, my money is on Dreo.

  4. I got this for my mother in law for Mother’s Day. She mentioned a few times how she display her old light, which was a bit broken. This light just gives her entrance a much more modern look. The light is slim with a fan in the center. The inner flower also lights up and you can control the color temperatures on both independently. The fan have 3 speed and pretty easy to control via the remote. Overall a really good looking light. The installation was pretty easy. I was able to do it by myself and took me only 15 minutes. I was able to find the wood beam so one of the screws are securely tighten on the beam. There were a few screw with dry wall anchors, which I used for the area without wood. The light itself is pretty lightweight and would do fine even without the wood beam.My mother in law loves it so this was a win.

  5. This unit replaced a ceiling fan we’ve had for 20 years. Used existing fan box. Not a lot of instructions but figured it out. Old fan wiring had a red, white, and black wires with a green ground. Did not have to use the red wire. Which I believe was for the old fan lighting. I put a scotch lock on the red wire and connected the white to white and black to black and connected the ground wire. We like the bright light which has three different colors and it’s also dimmable using the remote. Fan works great with three speeds and a louvered rotation under the blades which moves the air around. Satisfied with purchase. Light weight and looks nice replacing an old blade type fan.

  6. The battery charge only lasts a couple of hours at most on high. I love the different shades and the setting that gradually changes color as well. I bought a few to help cool down the kid’s rooms when the ac stopped working. It helped keep the bedside cool.

  7. Dreo Tower Fan Model DR-HTF001 (There are several different models reviewed here!) I don’t remember writing a review on the first day, however, I know how to Update my Review and DO if anything goes wrong!… The major reason I bought this fan (after spending 2 days and Many Hours reading reviews of dozens and dozens), was how a dozen or more people said it was their Favorite Fan ever!Let me share my DELIGHT! Well packed! It took less than five minutes to assemble while talking to a friend on my phone with a headset! Instructions are Clear and easy to understand. The remote included a battery, just pull out the clear tab to make it active! It does make noise on the higher settings. It has six fan Speeds and three different “Modes” of flow ~ each of which also has six speeds:: Automatic, Nature: which varies speeds like if you were outside in nature, Sleep mode). I don’t imagine many people would sit right next to the fan at the highest settings!, so the noise is not an issue for me. (And I am a Highly Sensitive Person, sensitive to loud noises!) It Oscillates back and forth farther than any other fan I have had. If you are next to the fan in the Sleep Mode, you can hear a little tiny hum. However I put the fan about six feet away and kept me perfectly cool and I did not notice the noise that far away. It also displays the temperature in the room and a Timer if you want it to go off at a certain time 0 – 12 hours. AND… you can even turn off the beeping Sound it makes when making changes!! Nice if sleeping with someone else in bed!If that was not enough, there is a Card inside that says to join the Dreo Family and extend your warranty 5 years! Yes FIVE years!! How many other companies offer that? The card says:” Do Not Return to Store. We have the power to bring a smile to your face.” And they include the support email address and phone number on the easy to keep card!!!!!!! 8. Seems quieter than blade fans, nice breeze, lightweight. Only con is that battery life only lasts 2-2.5 hrs. Have to charge it a lot. So will use in kitchen with no AC, plugged in for most part.

  9. The media could not be loaded.  Thought this would be a great extra fan to have around but comparing it to the one I purchased from Amazon about six months ago, this one is noise level is very loud. If you have a hearing aid, you can turn it off and it’ll be fine. Can’t say much about the battery life because we are going to have to return it, but for an inexpensive fan, there is decent value for your money

  10. Update: I was able to contact the shop, the customer service and they solved my problem! Amazing guys! I can always trust Amazon shopping!Old comment: We had to replace one, it arrived, worked great for about a day or two and then just wouldn’t stop. Wouldn’t turn off. We got a new one, luckily still in the “return window”. But now it’s dead again 🙁 sad..cause it is a really nice good looking device and a very good product!

  11. Definitely overpriced for what it is, but it’s cheaper than a dyson! Like others have said it’s a little bit noisy, but it personally doesn’t bother me. At level 5/10 I can still clearly hear my tv. Also not sure this is normal but air is only coming out of the top half of the big ring. Nevertheless, it moves enough air for me, and for a fraction of the price of a dyson I personally think it’s worth it! Now I’ll just have to see how long it lasts. Also DISCLAIMER: the 39 model DOES NOT include heating. It’s only a fan. A bit misleading as that was half the reason I bought this modelUpdate: it broke after 5 hours. DO NOT GETUpdate update: decided to take it apart to see why it wasn’t working, turns out the ppl who assembled it screwed through the wires for the main blower motor lmao. I fixed it with some solder but really?? Come on.

  12. I really like this fan. Lightweight and compact in shape. I use it at night to drown out noise, but also to stay cool. I haven’t used the sleep mode. Easy to pack on a road trip. I’d definitely buy again

  13. I was pretty skeptical, not knowing the brand and the affordable price. This fan has been a savior in my new office that gets direct afternoon sun and heats up like crazy when I have to shut the door when I’m on calls. It’s quiet and kicks off an impressive breeze. I think the battery has good life too.

  14. So far ot is all that I was hoping for. No issues with this fan. It’s much more quiet then my older fan with blades. Even on the highest fan speed the sound is quieter then I expected. As for the price. Well these days everything is over priced. But for what I paid. I am satisfied. So if you want a good breeze and quiet motor for sleeping. This is the fan for you

  15. I never write these reviews, but I just looked over at this little cute and felt a wave of love. This mighty fan is my lifesaver. I have two, one for my desk and one for my bedside, and in the sweltering DC summers, on my glass enclosed 8th floor apartment, they have made my life bearable when AC doesn’t cut it! And since it’s USB-C, and will hold a charge, I only need one charger cord to share with my phone.

  16. I liked everything about this fan. My only problem was I really needed a changeable battery fan. This fan is rechargeable by plugging it into the wall.

  17. This fan works well on normal settings and has a strong flow when on the highest setting. When on the lowest, it’s really not that loud. Out of the box, the oscillating feature did have the strange vibrating creaking sound others have mentioned, but after it fanned for a bit, that stopped. I haven’t heard it since. The one frustrating aspect is that to dim the bright lights on the panel, you have to put it in sleep mode. However, it won’t maintain the highest fan setting on sleep mode. After a few hours, it mysteriously drops to the lowest fan setting. This causes me to still wake up hot in the middle of the night. I’ve reached out to their customer support to see if they have tips on it but for now, I have to choose between low fan speed or bright lights at night. If that quirk doesn’t bother you, it’s a great fan for the price.

  18. Fan is small and cute . Most fans are a sore to the eye and take up a lot of space. This is perfect for a work desk. It is very quiet and gets the job done. It is important to note that this is not a high powered fan but creates a light breeze to cool you down. This was what I was specifically looking for so it’s great for my needs.

  19. I’ve always liked the Dyson products, but cannot afford their prices. This fan works along the same principle and moves a fair amount of air quietly. Most of the time I keep it on level 1 and it moves a good quantity of air with almost no noise. Even the higher settings are still more quiet than the tower type fan I had previously purchased. The only drawback is that the remote has those thin film buttons that seem to require some special technique to get them to work. Despite that, I would buy another of these if the need arose.

  20. I have a very small room with no window and so I wanted a fan that didn’t take up a lot of space. My girlfriend recommended a bladeless one, which I never knew existed up until now. I always hate having to pull apart a fan to clean it so this is definitely a bonus that I don’t have to. For me personally, the fan does what it’s supposed to. I haven’t had it on max yet and can contently be in my room with a hoodie and sweats on. Highest I have kept it is the medium setting. The noise is loud enough for comfort but not overbearing, which I like. Customer service reached out to me the day of my package said to arrive and gave me a few pointers in how to work/understand the fan, which coming from someone that has never owned one of these, I graciously appreciated. Overall, for my personal use and necessities, it’s great for me. I did leave it off it’s charger once and noticed that it gets less powerful when off. I’m so used to having a fan that plugs in all the time to be in use. I also tend to forget to turn a said fan off when I’m doing other things not being in my room. So I’ll just have to remind myself better, but if that’s the only difficulty I’m having then I think it’s a good bang for my buck.

  21. I read good reviews and saw this on a blog that it was a good fan. I purchased and when it arrived quickly I set it and placed on a nightstand. The size is perfect. Not big or too small. The fan has 4 settings and 4th setting is the highest which blows a great amount of air out, love that. The fan is mostly quiet, actually soothing to me even on the highest setting. What’s also really cool if you have kids or enjoy sleeping with a nightlight in your bedroom, this has different colors you can set!!! Not too bright or dim, just right! Happy I purchased and will again for another room.

  22. I get a lot of compliments for its sleek look, doesn’t take much space. It’s reasonably quite and easy to clean. The remote stopped working after 1 day so 1 star less. The old fashioned finger still works tho so no big deal for me.

  23. The noise level is too high on number 3

  24. I ordered the fan and found that when I would set the speed greater than 3 and oscillating, the fan would beep and turn off. After some experimenting, I found that the fan had a short and when oscillating, it would rock a bit and thus cause it to stop working. I reached out to the seller and after sending them a quick video of the issue, they sent me a new fan.On just customer service alone, I would have given 5 stars, however, since I have read others have had issues with shorting out, etc. I decided to give them a 4 star since the product seem to have a few lemons in the bunch.Overall though, great fan and very quiet but powerful breeze.

  25. The product works great… A few months ago i lost my remote, and couldn’t find a replacement online. I filled in a customer request form on the manufacturer (Dreo) site, and was connected with a customer service representative, Hector. He took down the model number, verified what i needed, responded quickly to any emails, and a few days later i had a remote in the mail, absolutely free. What great service by Hector and Dreo… thank you !!!

  26. I bought this to replace a traditional standing fan that broke after nighly use and I am very happy with the look of this machine. I can hear the mechanism a bit at night when the room is quiet, but not enough for it to be irritated. I do like that it displays the room temperature even when it’s not in use.

  27. I love this fan. As I sit next to as I type this. Love that I can take it anywhere without a cord. I could push out more or colder air and battery could last a little longer but I’m not complaining.

  28. This will run from an ac/USB adaptor or from the internal USB charged battery. I have a few power outages here on the Georgia coast from time to time. Since I enjoy air movement whilst abed I thought I would try this. It works a treat and I recommend it. The low speed is adequate if the fan is close and the high speed is very impressive. You may have noticed that it resembles the design of a certain well-known ($$$) fan called the “Air Multiplier”. This little gem is a bargain. Cheers.

  29. Got two of these fans for my office, and they really make a great difference. Air gets pretty stuffy in warmer weather without the fans, but I can turn these fans on the lowest setting and feel cold a moment later. They’re practically inaudible when on the lowest setting. The other settings can get pretty loud with significantly increased airflow, but they’re effective enough that I never need it.It also features a swivel mode, a “natural breeze” type of mode, sleep settings, and more that I haven’t played around with too much so far. Overall a quality product that I’m sure I’ll put to good use for a long time.

  30. Just 4 screws & the base is attached, works well, even on lowest speed I can feel the air 20 feet away.I didn’t realize that the fan also has a Thermometer in it to display the temp of the air coming through the fan & I didn’t realize how much value that has because I am using this fan to move warm air from one to another so I can actually see that 80F air is being quietly blown into the living room :)It’s not perfectly quiet but decently so & the “tone” of the fan noise is low, like central or split system air, not a sound like an airplane propeller lol.

  31. I bought this fan for my room as its gets warmer than the rest of the house. I keep it pointed at my bed so I can’t say much about how it cools the entire room. I use the function where it changes speeda according to the temp of the room and it feels great! Blows strong and is a little noisy but its to be expected from a fan. I absolutely love the remote control as it means I don’t have to get up every time I want to change the setting and the little storage area for the control on the back of the fan is conveniently placed so when not in use you know where it is. Would definitely recommend 👍

  32. The product is a little cuttie from it’s tower (that I don’t have). However, in my option that it is a little loud, but moves the air and the USB cord is VERY VERY short.

  33. My husband and I wanted a fan for our bedroom that would make a soft fan noise and provide a nice breeze. The goal was to be more comfortable while we sleep. The bladeless aspect is perfect! It makes a soft noise, no annoying noises while it oscillates, and has great settings for lower or higher speeds. It’s exactly what we needed. We had previously purchased a tower fan that had blades and it made a terrible noise. This fan doesn’t do that! Get this one!!!

  34. I wanted something “cute” in the kitchen and this fit the bill. It’s pretty powerful for the size and a nice little fan for when the kitchen gets too warm while cooking.

  35. This fan is great for a small office. The noise is minimal unless you are sitting right next to it– even still it won’t drown anything out. It takes about 2 hours to charge it while it is running, and the battery seems to last for a few hours when running on high speed. It’s about as tall as a piece of paper and a little wider than a coffee mug. I would recommend this if you need some extra personal cooling while in a small space– it is definitely not going to cool down the whole room, so I suggest getting it if there is already some a/c in the building.

  36. Bought three of these over 1 year ago. One appears to have an issue with the controller with error tones and flashing lights. It has been disconnected and is currently out of service. Can the controller be replaced?

  37. The remote, as expected, briefly works only when directly having the fan pointed at it, so you have to be quick. The sleep and nature settings are weird, they go through flows of “on” and “off” which doesn’t make sense, because it disrupts your sleep. I just have it on normal the entire time. The strength on “high” is not that strong, so if your idea is to cool a room with this fan, do not buy this one. I purchased it for light airflow and also white noise. I wish it was slightly louder at times but it really does have a good amount of white noise, maybe my large bedroom is just too large. I never use the sleep timer but the 1 to 12 hour timer option is great. Overall a good fan.

  38. After having my Dyson hot/cool fan for 4 years, which was quiet and perfect for the bedroom when sleeping, it started to make a churning noise. They wanted a ridiculous money to look at/repair it so that sent me on the hunt to find a suitable replacement and this fan is it. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and here are my main comments. It’s quiet, perfect for sleep and has 10 power settings which is great so you have lots of options for a speed that works for you. It tilts, remote is easy to use, and my favorite feature of them all, the light (showing speed setting) turns itself off after 10 seconds so no more covering up a fan light while you sleep. Excellent! I don’t really care about the air purifier on it but I suppose that’s an added bonus. Overall, a great buy and it’s as quiet as my Dyson was.

  39. Love the look, remote control, etc. but with the strongest level of air had more power – not as powerful as my bladed tower fan but definitely quieter.

  40. For as small as this is, it works well. On this battery with high setting, it drains the battery quickly. If you have to sleep with fan noise, this will make you happy.

  41. For as small as this is, it works well. On this battery with high setting, it drains the battery quickly. If you have to sleep with fan noise, this will make you happy.

  42. My roku remotes do interfere with the fan but the replacement remotes are more of an issue than remotes that originally came with roku devices and the fan remote has never interfered with the roku devices. Light is remarkably bright in all color options and the fan works significantly better than expected. Bought this for the room my bird stays in, but my dad is considering one for his room, the kids play room and some of the main rooms since he likes it so much

  43. I had a big tower fan that made a lot of noise… Buddy, bro… This is cute compactible… I can travel with it… It does not make a lot of noise… And puts out enough air… I do wish that it would tilt so that I could adjust the airflow… I also wish it had an a hard off button… The often on button is too sensitive… For what I need for what I use this fan for… Hot flashes… But all in all eight out of 10 will recommend… Also, I have ordered a couple in different colors… Cute Decour… It doubles as a mood lamp… And when you see that it puts out cool air… Oh boy what a good time I do, wish it had a carrying case

  44. Bought this to keep the air circulating in our home office; it does the job so far. Doesn’t blow a ton of air, but it serves the purpose I bought it for. The noise level is about the same as a white noise. The second day using it the remote wasn’t working correctly (the oscillate button was turning the fan off/on), but after pressing several buttons I finally got the remote to work correctly.Update: The seller contacted me regarding the remote and provided a new remote free of charge. So far, the new remote is working correctly. Great customer service!

  45. I work from home most days and it has been really hot lately! My small apartment does not have AC sadly, and due to space as well as being on the phone throughout the day, my tower fan is too loud and bulky! I bought this little fan to sit it on my desk and to be quiet while I work. So far, it does what you’d expect! A light tap on the button turns it on, it has 3 different can settings, and a few different but fun colored light options. I can’t complain with this purchase. If you are interested in trying one out for yourself, be aware that this fan is not silent though! It still has a light hum on the lowest setting. I think it’s actually fairly calming. But I called my sister on my work phone to test if she could hear it.. And though not intensely, she definitely could hear it as background noise!Additionally, this fan is not built to cool down an entire room. Sure, it may work for people in small rooms or who like to have a light fan on at bed.. But if this product wasn’t on my desk where I am, I probably wouldn’t feel it too much. Still though! It’s a good little fan, and will get the job I need done. 🙂

  47. I needed a new cordless fan for getting ready and this little fan is perfect. Not too loud, easy to charge, adjustable speeds and doesn’t take up much room in my very small bathroom.

  49. Cool and clean! A perfect combo. No more dust build up that’s miserable to clean. Filters make it so easy. Cuts down on the spread of dust. Be sure to buy the fan thatAllows you to direct the air. The one that doesn’t, is useless.

  50. i was a little hesitant to buy this product after reading the reviews but i was shocked when it came. it’s small and great for putting on your nightstand or desk! it’s almost completely quiet on the first setting but can get a little noisy on the third setting. i don’t mind a little bit of noise but if you do i wouldn’t recommend. the air is cooling and powerful and is definitely worth your money!

  52. Perfect size to put anywhere a little extra breeze is needed. Desk, countertop, bedside, etc. Has good flow and easy to clean. No blades are great! Has 3 speeds but I thought on high would be a bit stronger. It serves its purpose and it being cordless is great. I don’t use it for long periods of time but a few times a day and I haven’t had to charge it since the initial charging when I first received it a couple weeks ago. Great Buy!

  53. This fan works great!

  54. Bought this fan to replace an older, smaller one that was having issues with turning on and off if the cord wasn’t sitting just right. I am going through menopause and need a fan on me pretty much at all times. This one has 6 different speed settings but the lowest setting is plenty of air for me. It has lots of other settings to use, including one that changes speeds like the wind would do outdoors. I love how quiet it is so we don’t have to blast the tv volume during a show. It also oscillates, has a timer and shows the temperature in the room. Having a remote is a nice feature also so I don’t have to constantly get up and down to adjust it during hot flashes. So far I’m loving this fan.

  55. I have reached the golden age for women, which means I run hot a lot more often than I used to. I also have some anxiety about flying. When we started planning a European vacation, I became very worried about how I would react if I had a hot flash while airborne. I ran across the category of personal neck fans and it seemed like one of these may be just the thing I needed. I asked about TSA rules and was assured that they would pass security so I ordered this one and one with a slightly different style. This one put out a lot more air flow but is heavier and louder. Neither of those worried me so I gave the other to a friend and kept this one.We returned from our vacation 2 days ago, and I have to say this is one of my BEST AMAZON PURCHASES EVER! No problems with TSA. I turned this gadget on low as soon as we were seated on our departing flight and the low hum and slight breeze was very comforting. By a few hours into the flight the cabin had gotten cold so I turned it off and it still showed 1 battery indicator light. On the way home is where it paid for itself! Our return flight was boarded and ready to go when the captain announced that our plane required some kind of additional device to start and that we were waiting on it. We sat for nearly 45 minutes with the plane getting hotter and hotter. Everyone was fanning themselves, including my husband who had scoffed at my neck fan. I wasn’t “cool” so to speak, but I had steady airflow on medium and did not get anxious. My husband told me later that HE was actually starting to get anxious until the plane finally started up.I read a number of reviews saying the fan didn’t last more than a couple of months. I’m hoping mine lasts longer than that, but for me, if I have to buy a new one every time I fly I will do so.

  56. It’s a tad noisy when put on level 5+, but it’s just loud wooshy sound not a whiny fan noise so it’s bad enough to be distracting. Other than that, it’s a good fan

  57. Our building turns off our A/C during any “chilly/cold” weather. However, with our growing family we needed extra fans around the house. This fan? Amazing! We bought a second one. Quickly cools the room down. Easy to install/ build together – no really it’s super simple. The rotation rage is wonderful too. In my little one’s room the fan has a gorgeous silent mode. The airflow is extremely nice too! It’s not anything that has an annoying hum.Portability wise it’s super lightweight and very easy to handle (even in my 3rd trimester). Battery? Just a plug in. I mean the remote needs a battery. Upon first opening up the package for the remote the battery was good to go.It’s funny how if you only want to hit the first fan the second will be effected too. However, a simple shift of body positioning and you don’t need to stress. I’ll admit it is nice to be able to use one remote with both fans. We didn’t even feel the to open up the 2nd remote packaging.

  58. Doesn’t hold a charge long at all but looks nice

  59. Compact for my desk and works great. Love the extra LED lights for decoration. Also, love the fact that it can be wireless and moved around if needed. Sometimes I use it in my bathroom as well while I’m putting on my make up.

  60. Small, useful fan. Good on a small surface since it doesnt take much space. Flow of air it smooth .
