  1. This is the 4th car seat I’ve tried (a couple of them were gifts), and this Maxi-Cosi one is the best one yet (I am comparing my experiences to the Cosco Mighty Fit 65 DX, the Britax B-Lively Travel system car seat, and the Graco 4Ever 4-in-1 car seat). Also, I tested them on my 10-month old boy.Pros:• Plush seats — Out of all the car seats I’ve tried, the Maxi-Cosi’s were the softest and plushiest. This package comes with additional seat and back cushions, but I didn’t need them.• Cleaning convenience — All car seat manufacturers should enact a mandatory requirement to allow the fabric/material to be easily removed. Babies are always leaking/gushing liquids, so it’s very helpful to be able to clean the car seats. All the coverings on the Maxi-Cosi are easily removable, including the shoulder straps.• Ease of strap usage — The center clip is magnetized, and it’s very simple/easy to take on and off, including the red-button seat belt. The other car seats I’ve used needed somewhat more pressure to release their straps. Additionally, the harness holders conveniently keep the straps out of the way, so you don’t have to dig through your kid’s back or butt to grab the buckles.• Neck comfort — This is my favorite feature…While using other car seats, my kid’s neck always craned/hung down when he fell asleep in the car, but not with the Maxi-Cosi! The design and recline level of this car seat has my kid’s head resting backward comfortably.Cons:• Packaging — I’m not sure if it was just me, but my car seat came somewhat dirty…After opening the box, the car seat was not wrapped in plastic or anything else (which I suppose is a good thing, environmentally-speaking), but there were several scuffs, while the fabric was somewhat littered with cardboard debris. Like I mentioned earlier, I was easily able to toss the fabric in the wash, but it was somewhat alarming when I first saw the condition of the seat, and it looked used.• Size — The Maxi-Cosi is larger and slightly heavier than all the other car seats I’ve tried. I had to move up my front passenger seat to accommodate.• Cup holder — Only one?? Not that my kid is double-fisting milk bottles, but having 2 cup holders is convenient for putting random toys and whatnot. Many other car seats in this price range have 2 cup holders.• Price — Cost is more of an understandable issue. This car seat is definitely more premium than the other ones I’ve tried, but it’s still a concern.Installation was also simple, and it was stable in the car. In general, I really like this car seat.

  2. I’ve been using this seat for about 1.5 years with my 2 year old toddler and just purchased another for my 3 month old because I love it so much. The click tight installation makes it a breeze to get a tight installation. The access for this is 2 buttons on the bottom of the seat that you press together to lift up the seat to thread the belt. It does have latch but since Britax recommends belt install I have never used or attempted with latch. Thread the belt, buckle, remove any slack and then press the seat back down until it clicks. For a tight install, I find I have to remove enough slack from the belt that I have to kind of kneel on the seat to have it click back into place. In doing this, the seat doesn’t budge at all.As far as comfort goes, my son never seems to be uncomfortable and there appears to be plenty of padding. My 13 lb 3-month old uses the infant insert and the padding is quite thick. The cup holders are excellent. I’ve yet to find a standard 12-oz kids water bottle that doesn’t fit. They easily remove for washing. I recently took all the seat fabric off to wash. It washed and dried wonderfully following the instructions and I didn’t even need a YouTube video to replace the fabric which was a first. This is not a slim fit or lightweight seat. If you frequently need to switch it to a different car, it probably is not the seat for you. While it removes and reinstalls easily, it is quite heavy and cumbersome to move around. I could fit 3 of these across in my expedition with a bench seat, but in a smaller vehicle like my outback, 2 could definitely fit in the outboard seats but an adult would definitely struggle to fit in between. The seat however feels like a tank and this was a big factor in purchasing a second for my infant. The seat adjusts very easily as my son has grown. The straps easily adjust by moving up the headrest. The tension on the straps easily adjusts by pulling the strap at the leg portion of the seat and releasing by pressing a button below the click tight and pulling the straps. I should add that my son is very tall for his age and has plenty of legroom while rear facing.I don’t have any review of the forward facing functions and adjustments for this seat but have no doubt it will be just as easy to adjust as rear facing.

  3. We have the old version of this seat for my older daughter and she still rides comfortably in it at age 4.5 (she even has one more seat position to grow into!) I love love LOVE it. The seat cover comes off so easily — without even removing the seat from the car. and can be washed and dried!I love it so much I knew we’d get the exact same one for my second child. We just bought this one for my 3 month old (who hates the car) and she loves it way more than her bucket seat. She is able to fall asleep now in the car, I can see her better, and she is occasionally happy and awake while we drive. I’m so glad I just went ahead and got this now. It’s great for even little babies!!I love the maxi cosi brand! Thoughtful design and quality that matches the price. Incredible customer service.

  4. I got this seat for our 2014 Dodge Challenger, it is placed behind the passenger seat, our son is 3 and very large in the 99 percentile for height and weight he’s wearing 6T clothing and shoes even too large for 5T6T training pants so we needed a seat that would be comfortable for his larger “dairy air” (aka Back side) I have grandchildren too It’s very hard to get CARSEATs in a 2 door car so I have a infant base in the middle and a rotating car seat behind the drivers seat)All of these fit very snug in the back seatEventually when my grandson now 1 year old is out of his infant carrier he will move over to the rotating (Cybex-Sirona S 360) and my granddaughter (whom is almost 3, now yes she is the same age as my Son her Uncle, I had my daughter and son far apart) I will move her over to Spider-Man (because she loves spider man) And My son will get a new Marvel car seat just like this Iron-man, Captain American, Black Panther, or the Hulk! My grand son will also eventually want one so we plain to have 3 of them in the backseat. The Challenger is orange and the safety tie backs match that you can seat out the back window. And it’s near to see super heroes riding in the backseat even when no children are with us. More visually fun for us too, I will say these seats are secure and harness is great once our son gets too big for the harness we will remove it and use the seat belt only! Shipping came fast but the original picture on the outside of box so if it’s a surprise that might be hard to hide!

  5. I researched to find booster seats for my twin grandchildren that were safe and that their parents would approve.. these snap into your seat hooks just like carseats but so much easier… they are now five and I don’t pick them up and cart them around as much… With a 77 lb border collie I do have to cart around often, I was constantly having to get help to take bulky carseats out and put them back in. These booster seats are a breeze to snap in, pull strap tight and they are ready to go. They use to argue which side they would sit on, so I choose different colors ( girl/boy) …they are thrilled and I am thrilled ! these seats are simple in and out…when I need to remove them there are two clips on sides that are orange you push and they release, lightweight to transfer to trunk, when they want to ride with me I can grab them, secure them and put seatbelts under the arms of seat and were off…I highly recommend these….great quality, attractive and don’t take up so much room… their sister can now ride in the back with them !

  6. I have three children and I have regretted EVERY Graco purchase. I have found Chicco is the only brand to go with. They are easy to clean when it comes to taking apart and putting back together. Their straps system is simple, I have fought with Graco and never have been able to get the straps tight enough for safety. Installing any Chicco is so simple. I don’t need to kneel in Chicco to get it tight enough and their system to loosen the straps is one finger control. I think the product is a bit high priced for many families though. As for quality of ride, two of my children have loved the soft padding and comfortable strap pads that also protect the chest from the buckle.

  7. Bought this after getting side swept in a car accident. Wanted to feel like my son was safe and secure in a new car seat. He feels good and safe in it which is a big plus for us considering getting back in a car is a part of life. My 4 year old 35 pounds fits perfectly in this. It is very comfortable, I love that when he falls asleep his head doesn’t automatically tilt forward. It’s adjustable so his head lays back comfortably, it has arm rests, and drink holders, haven’t had any issues putting any of his drink or snacks in the holders, he can reach them just fine, not to mention it’s very stylish. And also it locked perfectly in the truck seat. It covers him very well on both sides. I love the chest buckle it’s way easy and I love the straps feels very secure. Over all very happy with this product. Love chicco products.

  8. I’m so excited that I came across this car seat. I love it !!! & so does my son. It’s a perfect big boy seat. The cup holders , the extra cushion , & the recline option all comes in handy. My son used to cry when it was time to go in the old car seat, but since we purchased this one he’s comfortable and ready to go 🙂 I have no complaints

  9. I was super intimidated when having to shop carseats, it was for a new career where my car needed some to be able to transport children. I don’t even have children yet so it was all kind of foreign to me still so I asked 3 parents’ advice on budget and safety features. All in all .. this one kept coming up and was on the more-affordable side so I gave it a try. its Beautiful, not too too heavy, instructions weren’t problematic & setting up was easier than I thought. the kiddos really like them too, however in one seat.. I wish the crotch-buckle could extend a little? (maybe there’s a way that I don’t know of yet), so it was too close and tight fitting for one child.. so I extended the rest of the belt and then moved the buckle to the 2nd slot in the foam area, thus shortening the buckle length about another 1″ -but getting it 2″ further away from the crotch, so idk what’s best about that part. you should be able to lengthen it like the rest.

  10. I love how easy it is to remove the cover on this seat. It’s inevitable that a car seat cover will need to be washed and this one is super easy, two small hooks and four snaps then just toss it in the washing machine. Super easy.

  11. Thankfully I’ve never been in a car accident with this car seat, so I can’t speak fully on the safety of it, but it feels so secure in my car. The click tight installation is so easy to do and feels extremely secure every time. It’s easy to move it between cars. It’s easy to buckle my baby in and it feels safe. It can be adjusted so many ways to fit your babies needs at whatever size they are. The entire padding of the car seat can be stripped down and washed. I loved this car seat so much that I bought it again for my second baby. I would recommend to anyone.

  12. This car seat is everything I was hoping for. The fabric, security, adjustable straps, etc all meet my expectations. I’d recommend this car seat any day. Very light weight and easy to assemble. Easy to latch, easy comfort, Great quality, definitely can pass the crash test.

  13. I bought this so I didn’t have to transfer car seats weekly when I have my 2yo niece and also because I have a small vehicle and hated having a massive car seat taking up room in the back. The cup holder being optional is so neat, I don’t know that it saves extra room having it slid in but the placement of them is a lot less wide than the previous seat I had. Its not as hard for her to reach her drinks now, I don’t know if this is just a specific issue for my tiny girl, but a definite plus for us.The seat as a whole looks to be more comfortable for her to be in.* Installation literally takes MINUTES! I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for the anchor straps that simply click in place. I loooathe having to fight with the hook kind to get them on/off. These you just have to push against the anchor, listen for the click, and pull to adjust your straps. Then to remove the seat all you have to do is push a button to release them! The straps are also soo much easier to grip in order to tighten. The car seat feels more secure and doesn’t budge as much as others I’ve used. The chest straps don’t seem to loosen and need adjusted as much when taking the seat in and out which is a big plus. The chest clip snaps together differently than I’ve saw before so she’s not able to push in the button and unclip herself like she did with the last seat!If you’re like me and spend 8 years reading reviews before making the purchase, do yourself a favor and go ahead and buy this!

  14. It’s only been two weeks but it is extremely easy to install which I’ve done a few times , takes only a few mins. Very soft and comfortable, my little one absolutely loves it more than her last, very easy to adjust straps with headrest , which is incredibly convenient, and double cup rest. It also doesn’t take up a ton of room, my kid loves this and is super comfy . So far I hope it holds up .

  15. I bought two different car seats when they were on pre Black Friday sales. I decided on the Graco slim fit because it is a lot slimmer and I can fit two baby seats with room for a 10-12 year old in the middle of my (sedan) car. It’s plush and my granddaughter looks much more comfortable when she falls asleep in it.I do like the features of the plush seat and head rest and how the back can adjust up and down. The straps by the shoulders have a nice cover so they don’t cut into her neck (I had to buy ones for her back facing car seat)My daughter “put it together” under 10 minutes as she had purchased one for her car and it looked complicated – it would have taken me a LOT longer! It is color coded for where to put the straps to secure the seat which I thought was a great idea.

  16. These booster seats are so handy. When my grandkids come to town it’s so simple to take these out of the closet and put then into my car. The kids really like them…comfortable and they love being able to manage their own seat belts.

  17. My daughter is so comfortable in this seat! It is also very easy to install. The only downside with this seat is that it is heavy, but most seats are.

  18. My 5 year old grand-daughter saw this car seat. Ask me to buy it for her. When she saw it she was screaming up and down saying I love this. We took it out of the box she jumped right in and didn’t want to get out of the seat. She was buckled in right in the middle of the living room. Made her father swap out his car seat for the this new one. She just absolutely loves it. No problem getting her in her car seat. Now she runs to the car to get in her Cinderella Princess Pink car seat. Highly-recommnded.

  19. We have the 4Ever car sear in our SUV which is amazing, our little guy grew out of his travel system car seat so we decided to give the Graco TriRide a try. Do bot regret it one bit! Love how sturdy it is! Also stays in place and doesn’t move around. A benefit are the 2 cup holders and the fact that it feels so comfortable for our little guy. When he saw the car seat he got all excited and hopped on it right away. Although this is not a 4ever car seat, it’s a great bang for your buck, specially rn with the holiday sales going on!

  20. This is a great secondary car seat to have if you have another vehicle or need to take on the plane. I wouldn’t recommend this as a primary car seat for the simple fact that the padding is not as soft and comfy as the higher priced Nuna car seats and the installation can be a pain.PROS1. Price – great product for the price2. Excellent secondary car seat for another vehicle or to use as a travel car seat3. Build quality is excellent, it’s very strong and sturdy4. Easy to clean fabric5. Easy to remove from vehicleCONS1. Installation can be a pain. After installation I found that the car seat can still lift up and move side to side quite a bit. Re-installed a dozen times in 3 different vehicles with the same results.2. Comfort level is not good. It’s thin on the seat bottom, and the strap cushions are cheap velcro/plastic material and not thick at all.

  21. This is the best car seat I have found. I bought the blue one for my grandson a couple years ago, I loved it so much that I just got the pink one for my granddaughter. After trying a few carseats and returning them I got this one for the canopy feature. It’s one of a kind. It is hard to install but so we’re all the other ones I tried and returned. Car seats just suck to install. There is no way around it. I feel it is very safe and sturdy. It has more recline positions than the others in the same price range which is perfect for my car cause it has the seats that tilt back so stuff don’t fall out but it makes rear facing baby seats lean forward more and this one is the only one I could get to recline back far enough. Which is why I returned the others. It does have large sides around the head but that is what makes it feel safer in a side impact crash. It’s there to protect there little melons. It feels cushioned enough. My grandson has never complained about being in it. My granddaughter has not been in it yet. It just came. The straps are easy to adjust. I can’t comment on the infant or premie adjustments as they used the portable infant seats until they out grew them. So we started using the big kid seats after that. If they get twisted you can easily see that and they are so much easier to fix than a reg car seat belt. It has been easy to clean so far. You spot clean it with a wet rag. I mean I’m not too worried about it anyways, it’s not like you can sell these things after. They have expiration dates and most people know not to buy used carseats anymore. They are not safe as you can’t trust that they haven’t been in a car accident. The shoulder pads that come on it got some nonslip stuff on the back that seems to bother his neck. That is the only con I have found with this car seat. It has all the bells and whistles of a more expensive seat but for an affordable price. I would highly recommend this seat. The sun cover is by far my favorite feature. It comes off if you need it too. But it gets used too much for it to come off. Compared to other seats in this price range this is the best one.

  22. Normally dont write reviews but going to write the review i needed at the time when i bought it. Previously had a Graco TriRide. Caused my kid to have car sickness, threw up twice in it the week we got it. It was impossible to clean, had to trash it. Tried this one instead. I’ve had it for over a year at this point. Kid has had maybe two or three car sickness episodes in it due to outside factors, I don’t blame the seat. She seems to like it well enough, seems comfy enough and she likes putting stuff in the cup holders.Cons: it can be difficult to install into car and to tighten the straps on kid. Usually my husband has to install it into the car. I can do it, but I have to push the seat down by sitting in it, and tighten the strap by pulling really hard. It is slightly easier to tighten the install strap by taking the front edge of the car sear cover off just enough to pull the install strap back through the the gap under the cup holder but then you have to get the car seat cover back on. (There are probably other reviews with a better explanation). I dont use the seatbelt installation method because it makes the car seat way too sideways, no matter how loose or tight the seat belt strap is, since the shoulder strap is angled so high. Might be fine when we switch to front facing though. For the actual kid harness, the shoulder straps do get caught and it can get annoying to make sure it’s tight enough on the kid if you can’t pull it hard enough, because it gets caught on the back opening. But they can get tight enough, just something to be aware of. I knew that when I bought it so wasn’t surprised.Pros: the cover removes and goes back on easy. Slides off. There’s 4 buttons. Easy. And it can be DRIED. No more waiting a day or two for it to air dry. I bought it specifically because I wanted to be able to dry the cover.Cleaning food and vomit – it’s not super easy but way easier than the Graco seat we had. I do recommend getting 6inch cotton swab qtips and maybe a few long toothpick/skewers, maybe even a few pipe cleaners to have on hand just in case. But mainly the 6in cotton swabs. Buy them before you need them. Almost all spots can be cleaned, if you angle it right. Not great, harder if you have bigger hands, but not impossible. The ability to get it clean was the number 1 reason I bought this seat. There might be newer, better seats now but this one worked for us!

  23. I have been reading a lot of reviews saying that it doesn’t secure very well. I borrowed a friend’s car for the weekend (bmw 5 series). For rear facing, I was able to use the rear side passenger sides securely with just a belt (took some practice). Front facing mode worked on all 3 back seats using the belt along with an anchor (I didn’t have a need for the tethers but would have used them had I not been able to secure tightly with the belt. For the price, this is a good seat. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the instructions are horrendous.

  24. This thing has changed everything about having to take our newborn out! With our first daughter, we decided on a Graco Grow with Me car seat. That thing is a beast of a car seat – it’s super safe and will adjust as our daughter grows through each stage of needing a car seat. We have no regrets about that, and this infant car seat will be replaced with one of those once our newborn has grown more. That being said, the grow with me car seat is heavy, bulky, not easy to install. As safe as it is, it’s fairly inconvenient. I had to lug it up to the hospital room and carry our first daughter down in it. At each doctor’s appointment, I had to hold my daughter for an hour or so. With a bad back, and as she grew heavier, it became tough. This infant carrier car seat solves those problems so well! My second daughter is able to lay in it comfortably while we wait in the doctor’s office. We don’t have to wake her, pulling her out of the car if she happens to fall asleep. It has made travel with her so much more convenient while remaining safe. The carrier has the added benefit of fitting our Graco stroller. It goes from car seat to stroller with a click of a button. We love this thing!PROS- Convenience! This carrier car seat makes going to the store or doctor’s office magnitudes easier than a traditional car seat. It’ll save your back!- It’s light weight! I can easily carry it with one arm, and my wife doesn’t have a problem lugging it around either!- It fits with certain Graco strollers, too! It’s doubly convenient to push a single button on the car seat, push a single button on the stroller, then attach the two together. Our daughter hardly stirs through it all.CONS- Price. You pay for all this convenience and safety. Your child will outgrow this carrier and you’ll have to replace it, so it’s an added cost.- It isn’t as safe as a full car seat. At least from my research, a full car seat is safer. That isn’t to say that the carrier isn’t also fully safe – just not quite to the same degree.

  25. I’ve been indecisive about which car seat to get for my now 19 month old. I chose this because of the good reviews and style. I’m very happy with this car seat and my daughter appears to enjoy too. The print is very pretty and overall a wide comfortable car seat. Installing the seat was easily done with the instruction manual provided.

  26. Not very parent friendly.1-getting shoulder straps on takes two hands and they get stuck under the baby/child.2-unbuckling shoulder straps takes two hands.3-snapping metal buckles into the between the legs receptacle is very difficult. Sometimes pinches them. Baby sits on them so they need to be dug out from under them on both sides and the between the legs buckle receptacle slips under the baby even when you make sure it’s out and forward before you put the baby/child in. Then it can pinch putting on and again when unlatching. Always is a point of pain for the child and the parent. One time I could not get the straps off. Had to go home and use a tool.I never feel like I can take BOTH hands off the baby/child to keep them safe, keep from falling out.Seems so easy to fix. Suggest:1. Stiffen the straps or design a place for them to left and right of the baby, a side clip or stiffen straps so they open and close like a vest would. When removing the child, open each strap to an “open” ready position (not under the child).2. A push button or squeeze button that fully opens with ONE hand works when removing the child. Takes one to hold it steady and the other to squeeze, leaving no hands for the baby/child. Should be able he to put fingers under it then press with thumb to unlatch.3. Stiffen the strap that holds the between legs buckle receptacle. Should be able to flap it open and it stays until you fold it up to buckle in. Then make it easy to slip fingers underneath buckle and with same hand use thumb to push button to open. Understand you want it safe, but should not hurt the child or cause fear of being pinched/hurt for them getting in and out. There has to be a better design.

  27. I have 2 kids, 11 months apart. I remember buying my suv with the thought of one day having kids not realizing how large car seats are.I love graco, just one of the safest and long standing brands. My oldest has a graco 4 in 1 I think, it’s pretty large though. We wanted something slimmer once the baby grew out of her graco snugride. We got this and it’s great. It makes it possible to sit between them now. More room in the back. Also has all perks my oldest has in hers. Also very easy to install.

  28. I bought this for my grandson. He is 10 months but very chubby and his baby car seat was becoming uncomfortable for him. This worked out perfect. He loves going for rides now and isn’t crying as much as before. I love how it can be rear facing for now but can change to front facing later. I definitely recommend this car seat.

  29. This is a decent booster. Fairly easy to install and use. Looks good. My only complaints are fairly trivial and the price is low enough that it’s worth buying. The harness is significantly harder to loosen or tighten as compared to the Graco brand seats and the cup holders aren’t deep enough to prevent drinks from falling out of them around corners or braking on occasion.
