Let me set the stage for this long review. I am diagnosing myself as CP phobic (cat pee phobic). This is not yet an official disease but I am working on a patent. The roots of my CP phobia come from my childhood days as does everything else that is wrong with my life but I will skip the details for a book I will later write and discuss with Dr. Oz. Cats were around me in my childhood days and due to absent parents, they peed everywhere and little was done to clean it up. Therefore, the smell of cat pee brings severe anxiety, anger, and anything else that is related to a negative feeling. In 2002, a small kitten followed me into a 7-11. She was friendly but obviously abandoned and probably had her days limited if left in the busy parking lot of this convenience store. So on this wonderful day in the winter, I walked out with a Diet Coke, a pack of Marlboro lights, and a kitten. The litter robot is life changing for anyone who actually plans on owning cats for fun and for cats who refuse to use a dirty litter box. Due to my CP phobia, I plunked down the money. Everything worked great until my cat saw me enjoying life. The peeing began again. I put down a plain old square litter box and added “Cat Attract” litter. The peeing stopped. My adorable ball of high maintenance fur now uses the litter robot to go number two and the plain square box to go number one. The “Cat Genie” trash can is a must with anyone who has CP phobia. It keeps the smell down to a minimum and saves on trash bags.Now that my 15 year old queen is satisfied with her restroom, I am now left to attack the cat pee smell. Putting Febreeze on a cat pee spot is like putting a cute SuperMan band aid on an 8 inch deep gash; it’s super adorable but we all know I am going to pass out from the blood loss. Attacking cat pee is serious business and requires hours of work, determination, and money. Did I state how I will never own a cat again?First you will need Rocco and Roxie pet stain remover. Just buy the jug if you are battling cat pee. The spray bottle will not be used. Pour Rocco and Roxie on the cat pee. It needs to be a puddle that soaks in through the carpet and into the carpet pad. We are not using a band aid, we are going in and sanitizing this dire situation. As you get the spots you can see, grab a UV light, turn off the lights, and prepare for night battle. Find all the illuminating spots and pour that Rocco and Roxie on all spots. Cat pee is no laughing matter to people like me. After all the spots are drenched, wait it out for a few hours and soak as much up with paper towels. If you use a towel, I feel you are transferring cat pee from one spot to the next. There will be a slight chemical smell. Again, cat pee is not like spilling your tumbler of vodka and soda water because the cat trips you up on purpose. Cat pee is anger and anxiety wrapped into one huge ball which needs strong chemicals to destroy.If you are satisfied with Rocco and Roxie, and no odor of cat pee is present, then continue on with your life. If you are CP phobic and can detect a small whiff of cat pee, proceed to step 2.Step two requires buying Angry Orange. Angry Orange is a smell that cats hate and is actually pretty pleasant to others. It smells like straight oranges. I bought the spray bottle and the concentrated refill bottle. Because I am CP phobic, I put a lot of the concentrated angry orange in a spray bottle and a little bit of water. I grabbed my UV light and went after the spots like the crazy, mad woman I have become. I sprayed all the spots only to have the entire house overwhelmed with the smell of orange. I am pretty sure my neighbors think I have opened a juicing station in the middle of my kitchen. I highly recommend following the directions of using the correct ratio of water to Angry Orange. If you do not follow the directions, not only will you think about writing a book called “James and the Giant Orange” but there will be slight orange spots on your carpet. Which now we can go to step 3.Rocco and Roxie has an OxyClean product. This carpet cleaner gets out the toughest stains including my error of Angry Orange stains. Spray the product on any stain, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then start working on it with paper towels.At this point, I am satisfied I have fought a good battle but I am still wary. I have an oreck orbiter to clean my travertine floors. I bought the attachments for cleaning the carpet and also Oreck Dry Carpet Cleaner. I spray the Rocco and Roxie OxyClean product as a mist on a 6 by 6 foot spot and then sprinkle the dry carpet cleaner all over. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. I rub the cleaner into the carpet with my oreck orbiter. Wait 45 minutes to 2 hours and vacuum. The Dry Carpet Cleaner gets out stains but it also gets out all the allergens and cat litter smell. I am not a fan of steam cleaning carpets. I have never had success. The Dry Carpet Cleaner is great for spring cleaning carpets or being completely unhinged by cat pee and needing to verify, the carpet is indeed clean.Finally, after a week, I spray the areas in where I want my cat to never pee on, walk on, and or let alone even look at with the Natural Lemon Aerosol spray. Cats hate the smell of lemons and oranges.I am now 90 percent satisfied I have won the battle of cat pee. I will not be 100 percent satisfied until I replace all the carpet but that will not happen until my cat crosses the rainbow in which she will probably pee on because that is how she rolls.My cat has cost me a lot of money and time but I hope when I am old and peeing everywhere, that someone will take care of me and I will have two toilets in the same room. I clearly missed my chance as a saleswoman because I can sell anything, even a life attached to me and the feline. My cat is going strong and still a narcissistic princess with a special place in my heart and hell.I want to add a few other recommendations to some of the qualms I have read in other reviews. As you may infer with my post, I am borderline OCD with cleanliness. I do squats at the gym just to master the hover technique over a public toilet. My advice is over the top but it works.With any problem in life, you have to attack the source before treating the symptoms. Your decision to own this type of animal is the main source, the actual cat being second with their toilet being the third main source. After having a lot of self reflection on why you chose to own an animal that stalks you as if you were a gazelle and inevitably will latch onto the back of your leg while going for the achilles tendon to bring you down is the first step to solving cat pee problem. Then we move on to see if said cat is healthy and using the litter box. Finally we have to attack the actual cat toilet. Even when litter is scooped, it still holds the smell of cat pee. I change out my cat litter every 2 weeks and sometimes more. This means dumping the entire cat box into a black trash bag and then taking lysol to wipe the interior and exterior. This will help substantially in getting rid of cat pee smell. Again, attack the source, not just the symptoms.Many have stated they are not fond the Rocco and Roxie cleaning smell. Cat Pee Smell is at the top of my offensive list which also includes items such as robot phone calls to my cell, McDonald’s no longer frying their apple pies, hair in the shower drain, and taxes. When attacking cat pee, you have to neutralize the chemical composition of this awful smell. The enzymes in Rocco and Roxie deliver this result as best as I have seen. The after smell does not sit well with all. I use Rocco and Roxie with Oreck dry carpet cleaner every two months to clean my rugs and carpets. I admit I tire of the cleaning smell but have found a solution many may want to try.After cleaning the pee and other items out of carpet, grab baking soda and some natural essential oils. I found a box of oils on amazon. Add tea tree oil and lavender to the baking soda. In fact, add whatever smell you would like for the olfactory. Add lots of drops to the baking soda and mix well. Shake this mixture all over the carpet. It needs to look like it just snowed. Get a brush, preferably with a long handle to protect your back, and agitate the baking soda into your carpet. Leave it on over night for best results and then vacuum. If you can’t wait that long, at least let it sit two hours. Baking soda and the oils are all natural so safe for humans and animals. This step has helped in creating a more earthy and pleasant smell in my home when I do the manic bi-monthly cleaning.Thank you again for all the responses and I hope one day to get a book published. The short story is that I am very pleased with this carpet cleaner. It is lightweight, powerful, cleans well, and is inexpensive. It has some limitations, which I will cover later. Will it hold up over time? I will update my review if it fails. new, if you like to read long, rambling reviews, strap in.Prior to this I had a Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe carpet cleaner for cleaning large areas. It worked well but the bearings that ran the cleaning brushes rusted solid after a year or two of use. That machine had a kind of turbine, mounted between two metal ball bearings, which ran the brushes by utilizing the suction of the main vacuum unit. These bearings were completely unprotected from water and failed, as anyone with a functioning brain would expect. This was either a sloppy design choice or an example of planned obsolescence. Regardless, I won’t be getting another Hoover product again. This machine uses a belt powered beater brush like a normal vacuum cleaner. I purchased it specifically because of this and hope that it will stand the test of time. We will see.Now on to carpet. Carpets in general are nasty but they are the cheapest ‘nice’ floor covering out there so many places have them. Until I have the time and energy to upgrade I am stuck with them. They WILL get disgusting if you let them, and by ‘let them’ I mean not shampoo them religiously every few months. I made do with an existing spot carpet cleaner I had, a Bissell Spot Clean Professional (which I highly recommend), after the Hoover failed me, and it did well enough until I got a new puppy. While it was great for little accidents, getting down on your hands and knees to do a large area regularly was very unpleasant. Its also great for vehicles and stairs, which this machine is not, so they pair well. The Spot Clean Pro has lasted me several years of intermittent use so here’s hoping the TurboClean will as well.I used this machine according to the instructions and I have several notes. The instructions say to make one slow pass forward and one slow pass backward while spraying solution and to repeat the process while not spraying solution. End of cleaning, let dry. For my medium pile carpet this left it very wet and with quite a lot of shampoo in it (as evidenced by little bubbles in the pile). I made one slow pass forward and one slow pass backward while spraying cleaning solution and then two to three slow forward and back passes without spraying until the unit stopped picking up much water. This dried out the carpets much better and left them cleaner. Once I had finished the area I then made another full round of passes but only filled the machine with hot water. No cleaning solution. This helped get even more dirt out and left the carpets free of shampoo. If your carpets are very nasty you will have to repeat this process several times until the water comes out clean. This level of effort is required when using any carpet cleaner though, even powerful ones like Rug Doctors. While my puppy has left the carpets quite filthy multiple times (‘accidents’, garbage can raids, the murder of a few house plants, etc.) the has machine cleaned them perfectly and without having to pre-treat the stains. Carpets get truly awful if you don’t religiously clean them so be prepared to work at it, but this machine will get the job done.So, how were the results? Great. After extracting several tanks of what appeared to be chocolate milk from my carpets they look fantastic and, maybe more importantly, smell clean. This was very difficult to accomplish with a new puppy using only carpet cleaning sprays or the spot cleaner. It is also easy to clean and empty. Does it have limitations? Yes. This is the largest Bissell consumer level unit you can get without a stair or spot cleaning attachment, which I didn’t need because of the Spot Clean Pro. That said, its tanks are small, and its cleaning head is not very wide. You will be filling and emptying these tanks a lot and it takes a long time to clean a large area. As expected, without the stair cleaning attachment you won’t be able to use this on stairs. I also found the handle uncomfortable. The unit gets rather heavy when full of water and the hard plastic handle tends to mush your little finger after a while. None of these are deal breakers and it is a great value.Some additional tips: The small bottle of cleaning solution (8 oz) that comes with the unit is enough to fill the cleaning solution tank 4 times when following the instructions to the letter. That is enough to thoroughly clean about 50 square feet of carpet; basically, an area that is 5×10 feet. You may have similar results using less solution, depending on how nasty your carpets are. My unit came with a coupon for 50% off and free shipping on a ‘Pet Stain Removal Pack’ No. B0092 from the Bissell website. It includes a full-size bottle of cleaning solution (48 oz), a spot treating spray bottle (22 oz), and a bottle of ‘booster’ for the cleaning solution (16 oz). That kit is normally $37 dollars before taxes and shipping from their website without the coupon as of this writing. The same items separately cost $33 from Amazon, so it’s a good deal. I have no idea how long they will keep doing that though.Keep a paper towel or little baggy handy if you have someone in the house that makes a lot of hair. Pets, kids, significant other, Bigfoot, whatever. Even if you vacuum thoroughly beforehand this machine will clean deep and kick up lots of filthy wet hairballs. You’ll want to pick them up as you go or they will clog the machine. Do not let the tank get too full. Empty it every time you fill the cleaning solution tank even though it appears to be hold much more water, as the machine seems to have reduced suction the fuller the dirty water tank gets. If the machine makes a kind of popping sound and loses suction that means the dirty water tank is full. You must stop and empty it (it is a safety feature, as the dirty water tank would overflow otherwise). Rinse the machine out according to the manual after you finish cleaning, or it will begin to smell. Do NOT tilt or shake a full dirty water tank after removing it. If you do the water will puke out the suction tube and get everywhere. Learn from my mistake.

I was just so excited that it was exactly what I had been looking for – color, size, style and price!When I got it home it was perfect in every way EXCEPT the off-white that was so perfect in the fluorescent lighting was a dingy EWWW in the natural light of our living room. I took the armrest covers off and YUCK! I noticed how dirty the arms were and then noticed that I hadn’t looked that closely on the store – there were spots all over the chair!The store doesn’t take returns AND I loved everything about the chair except the grime and spots (how did I not notice those in the store???) so I googled best upholstery cleaner and the BISSELL Little Green Machine showed up as top-rated in multiple blogs so I searched for it on Amazon. It had awesome reviews confirming what the blogs has said so I ordered it.It came super-fast and was easy to set up. I got to work. Well, my sweet husband got to work. My plan was to have him handle the task as he’s usually in charge of the grimy stuff. Love that man. 😊🙏Well I had no idea cleaning upholstery could be so fun! This little machine sucked the grime right out! It was really satisfying to see it get sucked out right before my eyes. Before my husband knew it, he was free to watch his baseball game because I had taken over.When I was finished the cream chair looked like new!And I didn’t stop there.I had a 14-year old blue chair in my home office that had weathered two babies, lots of journaling and phone conversations with my feet tucked up underneath me, latte spills and just…a full life! Additionally, this was an inexpensive chair with a sueded microfiber fabric – not nearly as well made as the cream chair so I wasn’t sure if the not super-sturdy fabric would withstand the cleaning fluid or brush.I was blown away. As you can see by the Before and After photos – the BISSELL mighty little machine did an amazing job!!! The blue chair is saved and we are ALL excited. Yes, even me. 😃 I just wish I would have taken videos of cleaning the blue chair – the water was SO dirty. And the pocketbook!!!A little technique scoop (if you’re still reading) – on the cream chair we sprayed the cleaning water from the machine on the area, then sprayed Resolve and let it sit for a minute or two before we sucked up the dirt. The Resolve did make the dirty water in the tank pretty foamy and I’m not sure if it could damage the machine or the chair but when we tried it we were kind of thinking we didn’t have anything to lose as the fabric was so grungy when we got it home to natural light, we would not have kept the chair if the BISSELL didn’t work. The machine seems totally fine and of course the chair is now clean and beautiful!I could not possibly love this little machine more and now I can feel much more confident with all of our new carpet and furniture because if we get a spill or a stain this lightly little green machine will take care of it!I highly recommend the BISSELL Little Green Machine!

Initially the unit did not spray cleaning solution when you squeezed the trigger. Many have the same issue if you Google this. So after taking my new machine apart, taking several measurements I found the problem.Apparently somewhere between design and production one part was made too short by about the thickness of a quarter. That would be the actuating rod inside the handle.A good and easy fix is as follows;1) depress the button right under the top cord holder and sharply pull the handle assembly from the unit.2) obtain 3” of scotch tape and place a quarter right in the center3) turn the handle upside down and holding the tape by squeezing the two non-stick ends lower the quarter right on the end of the square plastic rod in the middle of the inverted tube. Be sure to secure the sticky ends to the inside of the tube walls to hold the quarter from moving while you re-insert the handle assembly.4) you have now provided that extra length of the rod to adequately depress the part inside that causes release of the cleaning solution.5) Although this repair works consistently if you have the skills then trace the shape of the tube onto a suitably thick (quarter thickness) or there about and cut out the shape slightly smaller so that it can freely move inside without tipping over inside.The machine works amazingly well after this easy modification. I am just guessing here but either the part inside wasn’t produced to spec or the end of the handle tube is just a little too long. Or the engineer/designer was stoned while working at the CAD.

I had a couple of dingy, high traffic areas on a multi-colored area rug. Not terrible but noticeable against the less trodden parts. I had it professionally cleaned and it looked great at first but those areas returned after a few days. I was able to make the dingy parts look brand new, to the point that now I have to clean some other areas because they look a bit faded in comparison! I see some reviews talking about poor suction– you just have to make sure you tilt the brush forward so you’re pushing the slot where the airflow is directly against the carpet, at which point it pulls up the water quite well. Also, the instructions caution not using water over 140F, (which they consider “warm”), but the hottest water my tap puts out is about 130F, by thermometer (which is pretty hot to the touch). So unless your hot water is scalding I don’t think you need to worry about “warm.” Hot water will clean better, if your particular rug or upholstery can tolerate it.Couple of caveats and why I docked it a point:– the “pro” formulation is heavily scented, filling my house with a sweet floral scent. I wish they offered something less overwhelming, but it’s just what was included so maybe they do, or maybe I can find something else. Going back over the areas with plain water fixed it, but it took a while, because no matter how much you work it with the soap solution, squeegeeing water back out with the suction, it will leave residue (recommend this in general since soap residue will encourage dirt to reaccumulate in the cleaned area).–It’s LOUD. I mean, you would do well to wear ear protection loud. I do shop work and this is far louder than my shop-vac or even table saw. Get some headphone type or in ear type noise protection. Seriously, if you are working for 15 minutes with this next to you you could literally damage your hearing.Other than that all good by me, I’m really pleased that I could remove those stubborn soiled areas. Time will tell if the machine is durable, will update if any problems.

I bought this to clean set in dirt in my car seats. Honestly, was not sure how good it would do as another product I was using barely did anything. This one put that one to shame! I created a mixture that was half way between the two recommended amounts. It almost immediately pulled the set in dirt out of my car seat – I could see it on the cleaning cloth. There was even something stuck to one of the seats that I don’t know how it got it there except that it wasn’t dirt. It took two cleanings, but I can’t even see where it was anymore. Car seats look practically brand new. Will be using this from now on and have already recommended it to others.

This is hands down the best carpet cleaner! We have a senior dog who is incontinent in our home which is mostly wall to wall carpet. I had purchased a Bissell steam cleaner than was almost $300 and it was terrible. After cleaning the carpets there would be maybe 4 ounces of water in the dirty water tank. I tried everything to get that steamer to work and ended up with wet carpets that made the urine smell worse. This Hoover cleaner is amazing. The dirty water tank shows this cleaner is picking up most of the water. And the water is filthy so I know this cleaner is working. I hope Hoover never stops making this model cleaner.

Love that it’s so easy to empty and clean when you’re done using.The only down fall is that the dirty water reservoir is not big enough. If you fill clean water to the line it won’t fit in dirty water reservoir. You have to empty it and re run to get all water.

I am exceedingly pleased with the job the Hoover deep cleaning carpet cleaner did on my 12 year old light colored carpets. I believe I will always use this product when I need to shampoo my carpets.I probably would give it 5 stars for deep cleaning – however in reality, my carpets are over q12 years old and light colored …. Hoover product did wonders to clean the carpets more than I ever expected.

I’ve been wanting to try products from chemical guys and I finally had a reason to. After 3 years of having my dinning chairs and my sectional it was time for a deep clean, between 2 toddlers and get togethers it needed some TLC. When I tell you that this product plus their Lightning Fast solution had my chairs and sectional looked like I just bought it. This was a nice size container which was the first plus but then I started using it and loved it more. The smell is light and nice and it cleaned my carpet better than the last cleaner I used. I was able to do 2 rooms and a hallway and I still have some left and my carpet looks amazing and smells well too.

We have a 14yo dachshund who is getting more incontinent as he gets older. I really wanted to love this product but there are better options out there. Pre treated soloed areas, multiple extraction steps… it took a lot more work to get a clean result than other similar products. It does work, just takes a lot of time and effort.

So I didn’t get this not for my pets, despite having 2. I got this because of my 88 year old dad who lives with us and has urine issues. I’m trying to keep my dad here as long as we can, and not being able to make to the bathroom and leaking is his biggest issue. And despite my ocd and cleaning it just wasn’t getting rid of the smell. Was tired of walking down the hall and smelling pee. So thought I’d give this a try, and it works! I clean his toilet now and spray after with this and it eliminates that lingering smell i couldn’t seem to get rid of. Can’t smell the urine, but the smell of this stuff isn’t great either….it has a very strong and not exactly great odor. Can’t describe the smell but kinda chemical and earthy and strong. It does dissipate but initially pretty overpowering. I spray my dad’s bed and carpet with it too. Have to wait a bit to let him come back in. But it really does kill the urine smell!

I have been using this product for months and just ordered another bottle. The smell is great and is a very clean carpet. I have an older dog who is prone to missing the training pads. This works great in my Bissell Pet Spot Pro full sized cleaner. I use the measuring guide on the machine and very hot water as well as the heat in the machine. Set-in stains are gone, smell of dog, urine etc. are gone too. I recommend this product. Check the oxiclean website at the bottom of the page for a list of ingredients if that is something you are concerned about as I have seen in other reviews here.

Wow! Here is what you need to know… Did a lot of research and read reviews on other products. Took a leap with the: Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Carpet Cleaner, 2987,Green/ BlackPros:Really does a great job!!! But, be sure to get the solution that has the effect you want. More about that later. The unit is light and easy to pull back and forth, just like a vacuum. This is also very easy to clean once the job is complete–especially like that you can truly deep clean this easily if you want or need. Nice suction and really like that you can go over the carpet again and again and that truly does speed up drying!Cons:The only reason I did not rate this five stars is that you do have to change the tank more frequently as other reviews mention. To be fair, I could have just purchased the larger tank machine but since I wanted a smaller overall machine to store I choose this one. I wish there was a way to spray the solution and agitate without suction. It feels like I am wasting product as when you have it in spray only mode there is still suction.About the Cleaning Solution:The unit comes with a free bottle of the “Bissell Deep Clean Pro 4x Deep Cleaning Concentrate”(1) solution.I did not use that at first as I choose to buy and use the “Bissell Professional Pet Urine Eliminator with Oxy and Febreze Carpet Cleaner Shampoo” because I like the smell of Febreze (2).Here is what I learned about the difference between solution 1 and 2:1) Pro 4x: did a better job on the wear stains from shoes and dog tracks; I ended up buying a large size of this solution!2) Oxy and Febreze: did a decent job cleaning and has a powerful Febreze smell which neutralizes any dog/cat smell! I like the smell of febreze smell but if you are sensitive to smells you may not like this as the odor is strong.
