This is not a bad product, but it is hard to cut. You can’t easily cut through it with a pair of shears. The length is fine, which is nice. You will have a few inches left over, so you can make a few practice cuts. I had to snip at all of the flat edges first with shears, then take a coping saw to finish the cut. I could bend the item to finish off the cut after making the first few snips too. I tried using a razor knife and snapped two blades.When you cut the item, try to round off the edge of the plastic that provides the drip strip (not the U portion, or the two rubber strips on the bottom of the U). My cut left a very sharp edge on the strip. Use sandpaper to smooth it, but do be sure to round off your cut.The drip rail fits snug on the shower door, but the double rubber strips at the bottom don’t fit snug on my shower door. As the door is closing, the last few inches keep the door from shutting. I may end up cutting a few inches off the outer strip.Overall: solid materials, hard to cut, cut edges produce sharp points on the drip strip, no sealant needed. Too bad the shipping costs more than the product!
First time I received the product in the mail it was tweaked at a 45 degree angle so I couldn’t use it (the wipe is merely placed in a plastic bag and shipped). The company’s customer service was top notch in addressing this. They sent a new piece for free without requiring me to pay shipping to return the old one, and I cannot speak highly enough about how great they were. Unfortunately, the new piece also arrived tweaked, though not as badly. With some cajoling I got the piece onto the shower and after a week it is working great. Given the price, the quality is great, just be aware that the piece will likely not arrive in pristine condition so may or may not be usable.
Shower door sweep arrived well-packaged and in excellent condition. It matches the description and is just what I need to replace the old sweep that is coming apart. There’s enough material for four replacements. I’m very happy with this purchase.
My clear glass shower door needed a new bottom wipe. My old one looked just like this one, but had lost one of its wipers, as well as just looking bad after 8 years. I purchased one of these to replace it and found that it is just great. The channel fit is nice and snug on my door – still installable, but does not slip. I did not find the material difficult to cut. I used an Xacto “razor saw”, which is a super narrow kerf hobby saw for use on plastic models. Just the thing that I happened to have around the house. If I had not had this, I think it would have still been easy enough if I used a sharp box cutter to score it and then break it. I sanded the sharp edge just a bit using 1100 grit sandpaper and now it’s perfect.”Why did you have to cut it?” you may ask. The reason is that the supplier gives you about an extra inch of material so you can custom fit it to your particular door. So, my 28″ piece was really closer to 29″ as delivered, which is just great for me. Many of these custom doors can be just a tiny bit off, which is a bad thing if you are attempting to block water spray. No chance of that now with my perfectly custom fit wipe.Finally, I got mine for three dollars SHIPPING INCLUDED!!!! There is NO better value than that, not to mention the excellent delivery and packaging. I liked it all so much, I bought a second one for the other shower/bath.
Works well on bottom of my shower door to keep water in. Have bought this twice in 6 years. So it lasts about 6 years before you need a new one. My old one cracked in half when someone opened the door inward. Shipped promptly. But USPS completely failed to scan the package anywhere between Las Vegas and San Antonio. I thought it never got shipped. Happily, the package arrived a few days after I ordered it. Love this vendor. Comes with adhesive covered by peel-off strips on both sides. These appeared to work well, but started coming loose after first shower. To be fair, I had some minimal residual mineral deposits on the door, but these could not be scrubbed off prior to attachment. I finally used silicone cement to attach . Now works well. The silicone construction of this door seal allows it to seal much better along the bottom than the clear plastic door seals of other manufacturers. I recommend this product if you are starting with a pristine glass door or are willing to use silicone cement to attach.
