April 2022 Update:After almost a year of using the pot, it became difficult to switch on. I immediately bought a duplicate; because, dang it! I love this pot! After I put in the order, I was demonstrating to my husband how it doesn’t turn on, and it turned on! My only explanation of what was happening was that something got wet and it hadn’t dried out yet. I do tend to shoot the water from the tap across the counter into the pot…just to make housework more fun. Maybe I should stop doing that, because water can get into the handle.If your pot suddenly stops working, my suggestion is to unplug it and briefly take a blow dryer to the electric base and the pot’s base. If you have time, forget the blow dryer, and just set it aside to dry naturally.Many of my appliances, when over heated or wet, will cut off and become unusable until it cools or dries out.At least I have another pot. If this gets wet again, I can replace it with the new pot until this one dries out. I’m thinking of buying another pot just for the purpose of boiling eggs. That way, I won’t have to worry about bacteria getting in the coffee.July 2021 update…so, yes, just like others have reported, about a month or so after using it, it suddenly wouldn’t turn on. No light, no heat. But I’m not one to sit idly by, and accept a setback as my new reality. No, Sirree! If I’m going to throw something out, I’m going to figure out the cause of the setback so I can repair it. In this case, the first ring around the protruding pin at the center of the bottom of the carafe became rusted. The rust blocks a current between the base and the carafe, preventing the unit from working effectively. If you place the pot at a different angle (place the pot with your alternate hand, for instance), it may work. At any rate, I simply used a fine-grade sand sponge and sanded off the rust. Steel wool may work, also; but it is a very precise and microscopic job, either way. After I sanded off the rust, I blew off the rust residue and added a thin coat of coconut oil to prevent further rusting. So far, so good. I added pictures to point out the rust. As for the white spots inside the pot, that’s going to happen if you have hard water. Hey, you didn’t hear about people in the 16th century complaining about spots in their water boiler, did you? Of course not! Those lucky people didn’t have to deal with water spots, because they carried their water in from the creek and poured it in an iron kettle. I’m sure you can find an iron kettle on Amazon. I’m not sure where your closest creek is. Maybe Google Maps can show you…OR…you can buy white vinegar or just pretend the spots aren’t there.Mild update: Since I’m correcting typos that I failed to catch earlier, I will say as of today, June 14, 2021 the coconut oil appears to be holding its own. I added a wee bit more, but the kettle hasn’t stopped or failed to start since I applied the first thin coat. 🙂Older review: I love it! My last water boiler almost caught my house on fire, leaked and the water sloshed out of the spout. This water boiler pours very smoothly and boils 1 liter of COLD water in four minutes. I haven’t timed warm water, but I will confirm it’s going to be less than four minutes.The blue light is ok; not as spectacular as I thought it would be. But I didn’t buy this for entertainment.The spout strainer pulls forward, covering the spout when you close the lid. When you open the lid, it has a spring that allows the strainer to be moved down for filling water. It doesn’t stay down, but it won’t snap off when you’re trying to fill the carafe, which was its intended purpose, I believe. It IS made of metal, so you don’t have to worry about poisoning your family with seeping plastic chemicals. In fact, nothing on or in this pot that comes in contact with liquid is made of plastic. The handle and outside of the lid are plastic for the purpose of insulating you from burns. I have on occasion been forced to use a silicone potholder to support the base while pouring, but I wouldn’t remove points for that.It does NOT have a temp control…but you CAN watch it boil and could probably judge from the water’s action and reaction when it’s the temperature for you. Over time, you be a pro and figuring the proper tea temp.I really do like this pot, and would recommend it for my own grandmother, if she was alive to use it.The price is good for the product. I’d buy it if I were you. You don’t know when the price will rise.I have a heat streak. So if something does go wrong with the pot after posting this review, I will be sure to return to post the issues. For now, it’s working great!

The water really boils hard in this and stays hot for my second cup. You can get a slight steaming if you don’t wait for the water to settle down keep your hand low on the handle. It’s no big deal to remember. I also like that it holds enough water for a couple of teapots at a time when the family comes.

I’m so sad about this kettle. Looks similar to the design of my SMEG kettle which is why I purchased it. Much lighter however which is a huge plus for me. Boils fast and efficiently.Here’s the big draw back and disappointment… the spout pours all over the place! No even distribution of water when pouring. one has to be really careful when pouring . You must hold the kettle at a very very specific angle so that the water doesn’t go everywhere. Such a shame because Westinghouse is usually such a solid company and I still have some of my Grandmothers Westinghouse appliances..

This is a beautiful electric kettle, it’s bubbling is a bit loud but not distracting and doesn’t do it for too long, it’s got a good size amount of water that it can boil….but cleaning the metal plate inside of mineral deposits due to hard water is difficult. 5 star aesthetic design and so far, 5 star speed, capacity and use but a 1 star practicality for cleaning the kettle from within.

I got this to replace an old Cuisinart electric kettle that died after several years of use. I really like the glass carafe on this kettle; unlike myold kettle it’s easy to check the water level to make sure you have enough for whatever you are brewing. The thermostat works well and reliably shuts off once the water has reached a full boil, though it may take a moment or two past boiling point to shut off.The blue light, though useful to know that it’s on and heating, is also kind of gimmicky but it can be hypnotic watching the blue bubbling water as it approaches boiling.The only downside is that this kettle seems to be a little slower than the old Cuisinart in terms of getting water up to boiling especially when it is completely full, though I have no way to know for sure.

Excellent hotpot that is smaller than average. Not sure why they can’t make smaller cost-effective hotpots to heat just 1 cup of water. This can heat between a minimum 0.3L (1.3 cups) to maximum 1L (4.2 cups). The 0.3L is slightly more than a large mug.Other pluses: the ring on the base lights up as a visual indicator it is heating and lets you see how much the water has boiled. Heats fairly quickly. The glass is strong and won’t easily break unless you drop it. There is a water filtering screen inside (I guess you could make tea in this but that would likely stain the metal base). There is an on-off switch in the handle. There is also an automatic shut-off which turns the unit off when the water has boiled, or you can turn it off when you want with the manual switch.The cord is shorter than normal so it must sit close to an outlet. Also it came in its original box unsealed making me wonder if it had been returned, although the unit was sparkling clean inside. Good for its price and gets the job done quickly!

Love the cute little pot for looks, but forgot to look for a gauge before purchasing. Wish it had one! Even my old cheapie had this feature. The lid has to be removed to see how much water is in the pot!🙁

I wish I could give a 10 star rating. I loved it so much that I bought another one. My husband keeps the black one with the blue light in his office and I keep the black with pink light in our room. The colors are so bright and beautiful. This kettle is powerful and heats up so quickly. I highly recommend.

I love this kettle. Everyone at my office loves this kettle (more than the “office kettle”, which is all plastic, super small, and difficult to clean).Mine, on the other hand, is a work of art. I love that it has minimal plastic; it’s sturdy, efficient, classy — and it takes up just the right amount of room on my table. When I boil water, I boil it in STYLE. Without BPAs. Like a boss.

Product is fantastic for getting water Hot ! Before you can say Hot water , I use mine everyday for coffee I use it to make my gallon jug of Tea I just put my 3 Tea bags in and when it’s done I poor it up no problem , THIS is one of those things you will say I want use that BUT trust me you will ! Everyday ! Over the past 15 years using every day this is NUMBER 3 and not only do I use it everyday but 2 and 3 times a day

I bought this product to use when I go to work. It only takes six minutes to boil a pot of water, and it will automatically shut off. It is very convenient to use. I use it to cook noodles and make tea. The price is cheap.very easy to clean.I really like it!

After boiling water for instant coffee, ramen etc in a,saucepan for years, I finally decided to try an electric kettle. I love it!! I can bpil water anywhere thete’s an outlet. It heats immediately and reaches a hard boil within a few minutes. The light is a great and attractive feature (blue while heating; turns off when done). Great grip. Hood weight balance. Stable on the basr disc. I’m extremely happy with the purchase and since electric kettles aren’t common in SoCal, I’ve recommended this to many people. It would be great desk item in an office that doesn’t provide hot water for food/drink.
