I purchased this magazine pouch to hold a spare mag for my Beretta PX4 Storm.over the past 20 years I’ve owned variety of pouches that have accommodated various magazines four different weapons. I’ve worked in the armored car industry and now we’re private security so the need to have a reliable, dependable magazine pouch is just as crucial as it is to have a good holster to keep your weapon safe and in the ready. After looking at the standard, weather and synthetic type patches that are available in the market I turn my attention to this one. this is rather unique in that it’s heavier and bulkier than most pouches and it’s far more involved than all of them. As evidenced by the photographs attached. You see that has many interesting features such as a rotatable holder that you can adjust so you’re magazine points in a direction that’s convenient for you 2/2. There’s also the fact that it has a unique mechanism that allows you to remove the pouch from the belt without having to remove all your gear. the process is as simple as depressing two opposing buttons and the entire assembly unfolds separates from your belt. It’s really a very unique and very handy mechanism because we all know what a pain it is to have to remove all your gear just to get that one item properly situated on your belt. once you find the position on your belt that you like your pouch to rest ensuring that it stays there is just a matter of simply tightening down a couple of Allen screws (which comes with a handy allen wrench included)… And you’re good to go!I’ve only had this a few days so I can’t give it a complete review as it hasn’t withstood the test of time, and use, but I can tell you that so far I really like what I see and feel. It’s got a unique style to it, it appears to be very durable yet it is priced very modestly. The only concern I have, and it’s of not great importance, is that the magazine pouch sets away from your body a bit. Over the years, I had become used to the idea of a magazine pouch sitting very close to my midsection, which for a fat guy like myself 😁 can be a real pain in the side (literally lol)…but that’s not the case here. There’s enough separation that you can comfortably sit down without having the butt of your magazine digging in do your spare tire. The aspect of comfort is great my only concern is that it may be easy for someone to grab ahold of if they so desire. The retention system is a friction lock type get up. And since it’s made for my specific weapon and who was the magazine’s rather firmly. It doesn’t impede my ability to draw the magazine however as I’ve begun practicing drawing my weapon and switching out the magazines in the simulated shooting situation. Of course time will tell and maybe I’ll fall this review up in 6 months or a year to see if things have changed but again, I like the look, the mechanics of it and the price point.I encourage you to read other reviews and then if you can find it at a retailer near you to go down and check it out before you actually buy it. I bought it on a whim and got lucky. I hope your luck is just as good.
First, the good:This magazine pouch securely holds my Glock 10mm “big stick” magazines from SGM and ETS. These pouches fit the Glock Large Frame magazines almost perfectly with only a little slop between the magazines’ walls and the walls of the pouches, these 30 round magazines fit with enough room that the top flaps securing them had ample hook/pile tape contact on the front, and the hook/pile tape securing the flaps seems sturdy enough to hold them regardless of orientation or activity according to my limited testing. I attached this pouch panel to the front of my plate carrier and shook the plate carrier in different orientations (simulating running, falling, tumbling as much as I could) with three fully-loaded 30 round 10mm magazines: they jostled around slightly inside the pouches but remained secure. Now the bad:I am knocking 1 star off for what I perceive to be a bit of false advertising: it can NOT securely hold a Glock magazine with a Kriss Vector Magazine Extension, as the extension makes the magazine too wide to slide fully down into the pouch: it stops where the extension starts. Maybe it will work with Glock Small Frame magazines that have extensions, but it definitely did not work for my one extended 10mm magazine. It’s not a deal breaker, as I still give it 5 stars for the price and its overall capabilities, I just think they should remove the word “Kriss” from the product page or, barring that, add a disclaimer about fitting magazines with extensions.Other thoughts:I understand many of you will likely want to be running different (ahem, “inferior”) cartridges in magazines out of these pouches, so here is what I think you can expect: other Glock Large Frame magazines (e.g. holding .45 ACP) will fit the same as I have described since they have the same or similar dimensions to my 10mm magazines (manufacturers differ sometimes), while Glock Small Frame magazines (e.g. holding 9mm or .40 S&W) will be held securely albeit with a bit more slop (and therefore movement) between the walls of the magazines and the insides of the pouches themselves. I cannot speak to what curved magazines (e.g. H&K MP5 or CZ Scorpion Evo) will be like in this pouch panel, just know it fits the straight, Glock Large Frame, “big stick” magazines very well. If you are looking for something to fit FNH P90 magazines, I am not sure this is your product: it will fit my FNH FiveseveN magazines, but the base-pad / beginning of the extension is too wide to fit without added force that warps the shape of the pouch; MAYBE it will fit P90 magazines but I doubt it, as I seem to recall them being noticeably “beefier” than the 5.7x28mm pistol magazines: I cannot say for sure because I do not own one. I think if you did manage to stuff a P90 magazine into one of these pouches, you might find the top flap has a hard time going over the feeding area (the large semicircular part) and will have very little (if any) hook/pile tape contact on the front to secure it. Or maybe I am just plain wrong on this matter, since I am going off my memory of the last time I held a P90 magazine.
I’ve had zero issues with this mag holder I use it daily for my job, fits Glock 19 mags perfectly, can adjust the tightness with the screw as well definitely recommend
Great bag for carrying mags for my Stribog when going to the range.
221105: I bought two of these to hold the 30+ round Glock 9mm magazines on a MOLLE LBV. It arrived today. Looking at the base of my magazines, I thought it best to use the hook-and-loop flaps because I figured the bungee/pull-tab arrangement would slide off the ends of the magazines. The theory behind setting up the flaps is a good one, but in practice it’s a bit off. There’s a patch of hook on one side of the flap end that gets inserted into the pouch, which is supposed to line up with a patch of loop on the inside rear of the pouch to hold it in place. The Glock mags are short enough that, if you want the flaps to secure the magazines snugly, the hook on the inside flap end goes past the loop in the inside rear of the pouch such that they do not connect. This is because the loop patch on the outside end of the flap and the hook patch on the outside of the pouch need to align also. Since the hook patch goes past the loop patch inside the pouch, the good news is that the flap is unlikely to slide all the way out with a magazine pressing it against the rear of the pouch because the hook patch would have to slide past the loop patch. The bad news is that this would still leave the flap discomfortingly loose over the magazines, and it would work looser with movement. If the manufacturer wants to fix this, the solution is simple: sew longer patches of hook-and-loop for where the inside end of the flap must connect with the inside rear of the pouch so that there is sufficient overlap. I dropped two stars because Glock 30+ round magazines are so common and these are billed as suitable for them (product photo shows a Glock magazine), plus this is such an easy thing to get right and it’s not right. The good news is that I tied the bungee/pull-tabs on according to the product video and, to my pleasant surprise, they work quite well to secure the Glock magazines in the pouches. If you go with the bungee/pull-tabs, you’ll want to attach them before attaching the unit to a MOLLE platform.Attaching these to my LBV using the MOLLE straps was simple and straightforward. The two snaps are large, robust, and secure. Just FYI, these units are four MOLLE strap columns wide, not three as I thought by looking at the product images.
The most tactile and reload ready mag holster period.
This mag pouch fit my SAR 109T mags (32 round 9×19) PERFECTLY!!! I ordered another.
I purchased these ammo pouches to carry my 10 round magazines. I did purchase several pouches and probably purchase more. It’s a good buy.
Good quality
Solid mag holsters. Love ’em.
