  1. UPDATED New Review: I originally gave this 5 stars at first, and it still remains 5 stars after a month of use. This has been the best purchase I’ve ever made. I’ve only used the heater once outside so far (was satisfied) but I can’t comment too well on that part until I use it more outdoors. But using it inside has been amazing.I live in a old house with tall ceilings (not insulated). I usually have my furnace running most of the time during winter and the heat doesn’t stay inside very long. Since I started using this space heater I have been toasty, and at times I’ve even had to turn it off because it got too warm. I’ve only used it at the lowest setting which is 500 Watts (good for one person) – I’m happy about this because I don’t have to worry about blowing a circuit (old house). I keep it about 3 to 4 feet feet from where I’m sitting. It might be different if you’re trying to heat several people at one time (maybe use higher setting). But it’s obvious to me how much warmer a room is when I have this on for awhile. It puts out good heat.Since I’ve been working at home, having heat next to me has been nice. I turn this heater towards my desk, towards the dining room, towards my chair in the living room. I am not cold at all!My utility bill (gas and electric) has not gone up at all this month. Usually my heating bill in the winter is considerably higher (last month is was even a bit lower). The space heater is saving me in many ways. The only downside of the space heater is when you have it turned off with the remote it blinks a red light nonstop at the top of the unit. If it was a solid red light that does not blink it would be less irritating. I realize the red light is there to indicate the unit is still powered, but the blinking is an irritant. I hope in the future they can re-design this unit with a solid red light. If and when that ever happens I’ll be buying an additional unit to put in my bedroom. It’s heating me right now while I write this. Can’t get over how a heater that does not have a fan can keep me so warm.

  2. The design of this product was EXACTLY what I was looking for.. especially the handle. When I got it I set the thermostat and let it do its job. I noticed it was a little off on the temp.. but not enough to really complain. It always varied slightly off. Well, here it is the night before Thanksgiving and I set it for 68 degrees and I wake at 3am sweating.. the thermostat read 74 degrees before it finally turned off, but then the temp gauge slowly kept rising to reach 84 degrees!!(which is what it felt like, if not higher!!) NOT OK!! I checked my settings and it was still set at 68.. Called amazon tech to address this immediately. Ended up getting a refund.

  3. This unit simply doesn’t produce the same amount of heat as the product that it’s replacing, even though both are rated at 1500 Watts. It is a little smaller, which may be important to some people, but I didn’t think the smaller size would impact it’s heat production. I thought the heat production would be determined by its wattage, which is 1500 Watts. I will tray another brand, It’s unfortunate. It looks good. ONE MORE THING: Be aware that most all oil-filled radiator heaters look identical though they can be very different in actual size. Be sure to compare dimensions before ordering. While this item was 1500 Watts, the same as my current one, it’s perhaps 25% smaller in size. My guess is that that is the reason it produces less heat with the same wattage.

  4. We got 2 of these, 1 for our rv bedroom and 1 for our rv living room. We loved the safety features, If you bumped into the heater and it rocked slightly it would shut off so I know if it knocked completely over it would shut off and be safe. The heat output was ok…we would notice that when we set it to 65 sometimes the temperature would drop down to 60 before it kicked on, or it would keep running until the room was 69, so it was very inconsistent. Our biggest complaint though is that within 4 months of receiving these, both have quit working. One refuses to turn on, and the other will turn on, run for 15 minutes or so, and then shut off…it’s not hot or anything. We ended up ordering two Pellonis brand ones like our rv neighbor, hopefully they work better than these!

  5. Safety feature went out within 6 months. Does not turn on unless propped up to allow the safety feature to extend and shut off if moved.

  6. Remote not really necessary, heat output good and well regulated, decent safety features. My 15 year old oil filled heater finally went bad due to open relay contacts. Price 3X the old unit…

  7. … six more to go (under the warranty) — so far, so good. This unit performed like a champ. Very quiet, both inside and out. Lots of cold air.I replaced a 12-year-old Fujitsu Halcyon. Over the last three years it began leaking some coolant oil from the connectors and my A/C guys had to keep topping off the coolant. This unit is for my home office (11′ X 15-1/2′) on the second story, containing five desktop computers. Usually only two are running most of the day, although it’s not uncommon for four to be on at the same time, along with three people present. 2022 wasn’t a crazy-heat summer like 2020 (which may have worn out my Fujitsu) but still offered a slew of 110-plus degree days. I set the unit to 72 degrees and the fan speed to high — meaning it never turns off until I manually do so before going to bed. The C&H unit didn’t skip a beat.My A/C guys had never heard of Cooper & Hunter but commented that it looked like a solid piece of equipment, and they are curious to know how it worked. I’ll let them know next spring when they come to tune up my A/C systems. If I had to say so today, I would definitely buy another C&H unit. The price is right — hundreds less than a Fujitsu. It actually cost more for the guys to remove the Fujitsu and install the C&H, than the C&H unit cost itself! (2022 was a bad year to hire contractors — my guys were booked five weeks out.)

  8. I can barely feel the heat from 3 feet away. It is just not warm enough. It looks really cheaply made. I returned it after trying it for an hour.

  9. Once installed the system so far works great. I hired a professional AC contractor that I have known for years. He is very knowledgeable and meticulous but was frustrated with the information not listed and minor design flaws. The systems frame design for attaching the base to the concrete pad needs to be corrected. The base feet are to close to the frame and leave no room for a drill. On the back side you can’t get a drill to the feet. The equipment details have the refrigerant lines listed as 1/4 & 1/2. I purchased the flair gasket packet based on this information. Turns out the lines are 1/4 & 3/8. I use only able to use the 1/4 gaskets. The ports are not standard size and do not list the information. We went to several hardware stores trying to get the right size fittings for my AC guys equipment. He said he’s never seen that as all equipment is standard. Not that is wrong. Just not expected. With that said. Once installed the equipment is working awesome for the price. My AC guy was very impressed with the system especially for the price.

  10. Inside unit almost silent usually can’t tell if it’s on. Front panel did rattle some then realized it wasn’t snapped tight. The drain line was finicky and absolutely must be the lowest line or the inside unit leaks ( this is stated clearly in the manual). The outside unit is quiet, but with it attached the the side of the house the vibration does resonate through the house some and you sense it. Very tolerable and not an issue. I would pad mount it on a stand next time though.Simple to use and very efficient so far.

  11. My other heater only worked three months. I ordered this one from a different company thinking it was made by a different manufacturer. When I opened the box it was exactly the same as the one that just broke. I’m going to give this one a try. I hope it lasts till spring.

  12. This outdoor heater is definitely not warm. I expected to be able to use the heater on my patio at 500w. Nope. I have to run it at 1500w and stand next to it.It includes a handle that one must assemble, in order to move it if it’s hot. It is impossible to attach the handle. The directions in the manual make no sense. The remote control does not work, but since this isn’t a very hot unit I can use my own hand to turn it on/off and set it to 1500w.If I hadn’t already thrown away the box I’d return it but there’s no point. This will be sufficient to go outside for a few minutes during fall/winter but I would not recommend this unit at all.

  13. I bought an older version of this previously and I liked it except how hard it is to set at a consistent temperature. I ended up buying the same thing again when I needed another for a different room because it’s the only one in this price range with the anti-knockover safety feature. I love the new oscillation feature they’ve added since I bought my first one, but it’s even worse at temperature control. It’s anyone’s guess whether it’ll heat to 68 or 85F, which is really an unreasonable range. I use it to keep my foster kitten rooms from getting too low at night, but when I have to wake up 5x in the night EVERY NIGHT to make sure I’m not cooking or freezing them, it’s really not doing me a lot of good.

  14. I have an office that is offset from the rest of my house and next to the garage. Living in Indiana, it gets pretty cold in my office so I wanted a way to stay warm during the day without having to run up a huge electric bill from heating my whole house. At first I really didn’t think this was a great product and contemplated sending it back. My office is 8×12 and it would get a little warmer, but no where near as warm as I had set the heater thermostat. I finally decided to see how it did if I shut the door to my office and it is night and day. My office is so warm and it’s so pleasant to work in here during the cold Indiana days. I would 10/10 recommend this as long as you aren’t trying to heat a bigger open space.

  15. This heater does an excellent job at heating our studio apartment. It can heat the air up to 85°F / 29.44~°C and distributes heat very well on the oscillation setting. The remote control is also very handy for if I need to adjust the heat whole in bed. Sometimes it can get a little too hot at the highest recommended setting! (I do not suggest you turn this heater to the “MAX” setting, as this will decrease the lifespan of the unit. It is not meant to run at MAX for extended periods of time. This is true for virtually any indoor space heater. 85°F is fine through the night.)Overall, this is an excellent unit; but there are some important flaws to know. This is our second unit. The first arrived damaged, and worked for merely 2 hours. As the second unit functions fine for the most part, I chalk this up to just a faulty unit, and was able to get a free replacement ordered the next day. The problems that this second unit has are pretty annoying though. This second unit appears to function fine out of the box, and is indeed new and in new condition. However, it automatically shuts off within 15 seconds on any of the low settings. Sometimes I just want it a little warm, and set it to 60°F/15.55~°C to 70°F/21.11~°C. [EDIT: it now ONLY functions on Maximum,, after just one night of running on 80°F. Will likely die off soon and need to be replaced once again. End EDIT] But the unit refuses to keep the heating element engaged at lower temperatures. While I prefer it to be very warm to the incredible cold our room was before getting this unit, having to choose between freezing and blistering is pretty irritating.I would return this unit again but I just can’t not have a heater for another 4-7 days while waiting on a second replacement [third unit.] Its too cold and our window does not close and my apartment management will not fix it, so we have no choice but to keep this second, faulty, albeit less so, unit.I have had such great experiences with Lasko products in the past, have had them around since we were quite little. So to get two faulty units in a row from a company we found to be reliable and trustworthy nearly all our life is quite troublesome. Is QC just not what it once was? Because this level of QC is unacceptable. One broken unit, followed up by a faulty one. Please, fix your QC, Lasko. I would like to be able to rely on your products without worrying about having to cycle through multiple faulty units.I only rated this 4 stars, because before this heater we had stellar experience with all previous Lasko products we’ve owned, and I really want to believe this is a mistake in QC and not Design. But idk. YMMV. If I didn’t have such great prior experience with Lasko, I would have given this 2 or 3 stars for my trouble. But the unit is indeed 4 star item as is, it WOULD be 5 if it weren’t faulty.

  16. Works great for the intended purpose, especially for the price. I bought it to use from room to room instead of heating a 4 bedroom MFG home with the central air. After leaving it on for a while I went to move it to another room and the cord and plug were warm, therefore I WOULD NOT leave this on unattended if you leave the home…..In my eyes they should have used heavier power wire and plug for the heater.Only other gripe is the smooth top where the handle is, impossible to grip with one hand. It needs an indention for your thumb.

  17. This heater is awesome!

  18. Great Heater! I got this heater for under my desk at work. I used it for 4 years and never had a problem with it. When I left the company, I had to leave the heater because the company paid for it. I have a new job and I bought the same heater because it worked so well. There is a safety feature in it so that if you kick it over or pick it up it will shut off, once you set it back up it will go on. I also like the handle for easy pick up and the knobs are easy to turn. The size and heat output are perfect. Honestly there isn’t anything I would change. I never really thought that much about a heater LOL but because I needed to purchase another one it was a no-brainer to purchase the same one.

  19. I have a large bedroom with a 12′ high trey ceiling and connected ensuite master bath. The entire area is always much cooler than the rest of my house and in fall/winter it gets really cold at night. So to avoid high heating costs and also not overheat the main living area, I decided to purchase a portable heater for my bed/bath suite. I wasn’t sure if this would be what I needed but with 26,000+ reviews at 4-5 stars so I purchased it. Now it has arrived and it works perfectly! Just as described, all functions of the unit – heat High or Low setting, timer, thermostat, oscillator – all work perfectly and I love having the versatility of the remote so I can control it from anywhere in my room. It’s also lightweight but feels sturdy and not likely to tip over. I don’t have small kids or pets and it’s unlikely I’ll ever knock it over. Another plus is the built-in handle at the top of the heater. It makes it so easy to pick it up and move it around. On first use in approx. 30 minutes my entire area was comfortably warm and the heater automatically shut off when my room reached ambient temperature of 70° that I had set the thermostat at. Overall I am highly pleased and would purchase another if I needed it. The only thing I take off one star for is because on the High heat setting you can adjust the temperature between 60°-65-70-75-80-85° in 5° increments, but on the Low heat setting you cannot adjust the temperature and it is locked at MAX on the unit. That’s the only reason I give 4 stars**** instead of 5.

  20. I have a combined living room, dining room, kitchen and family room style great room combo style home. I decided with the price of gas to run my fire place these days I would electrice instead this winter. I was doubtful of what and how many heaters it would take. When I read the information on these heaters I decided to order two and see. I am overjoyed with how much heat the two put out one at each end of the great room.

  21. I have had one of these heaters for more than 10 years. I love it. I set it to 60 degrees at night and it kicks on for a short while a few times. I purchased a new one when it was on sale. I set it for 60 degrees, and it was on almost all night. I have a thermometer in my room so tested it at different temperatures. It consistently stayed on well after the room reached the desired temperature. I don’t know if I got a lemon or if quality control has gone down over the years. It looks identical to my old one.

  22. It heats up my office pretty quickly. Not effective in large rooms but works good in mid sized bedrooms. Onboard thermostat looks to be fairly stable. This unit does not have a low setting like those cheap fans. It only works with a thermostat. When it measures the desired temperature, it cuts off the heat.My biggest albeit not very important disappointment was the remote control. It came with a different one than the one in pictures. This looks like a 30 year old tv remote with lots of wasted space. The one on the pictures looked way better and modern.

  23. I was reluctant about purchasing this heater because of the 1-star reviews. Luckily, I didn’t heed them. This wonderful little heater produces great heat without any strange odor. Any time an item is mass produced a stinker is going to get through. That is with everything, but I believe the majority of them are great to the point where I have ordered a second unit. The only con is not really a con at all. There is not a specific temperature control setting, you just turn the knob and readjust until you find the right setting. I have an older heater with digital settings. When you set if for 72 degrees and it reaches 72, it will start blowing cool air so that it doesn’t go above 72. Then when it cools for a few seconds, the temperature drops, and it starts blowing heat again. It seems to be a never-ending cycle. This unit does not have that problem. The pros are the price, makes great heat for a small unit and has a tip-over safety switch on the bottom of the unit. I don’t remember is this unit is energy efficient, but my old one is definitely not. For heating a medium size room, I recommend this product.

  24. This heater is not too bad. I would recommend it to those who need a cheap, no frills space heater. There are no numerically defined notches for the amount of heat that is output such as actual temperature- you have to guess and find out by trial and error to find out what kind of output is going to provided by the unit. It does, however, adjust to whatever setting you put it on so it does have some sort of primitive climate control. Luckily, I do have a thermometer in the room it’s used in so I’m not operating it completely blindly.I would recommend this to buyers who don’t want anything fancy, but if you do want to have well-defined temperature control, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Otherwise for the price and quality, it’s not a bad buy.

  25. I like the small compact size the fact that it is safe to use and has a temperature control and heats well

  26. My mom’s house has poor insulation and no central heat. I bought this for my room and have been so impressed with how well it keeps me warm. I set it up in the bathroom in the mornings for my shower. I even set it in the living room for my dogs when I leave for school and work. It’s a much bigger space but still keeps warm enough for my dogs to be comfortable. I don’t set to full temp in the living room or it will never shut off. With that being said, the safety feature is great for auto shut off when knocking it over. I am not sure about over heating so I don’t set full temp when I am gone. I keep a camera on my dogs though so I keep that extra peace of mind. Very pleased.

  27. I put the heater on a power monitor. It uses 1500 W when on the high setting, and 750W in the normal mode. In ECO mode, it will start at the highest setting and drop to the lowest as it reaches temperature. The heat output is super, and the screen cover at a gap and the tilt sensor keep it safe enough to use in a tent.I wanted it to always work at 750W or less so it wouldn’t’ draw too much power from our RV battery. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a way to do that. Even in ECO mode, it starts high.

  28. The product works fine but I received NO WHEELS! Purchased for my dad. It’s a major safety issue without wheels!

  29. This heater is ok. I like that it comes with a remote control and has good safety features but this is not the heater you want for an open space. I think it would be fine for a smaller space or smaller bedroom.

  30. This heater puts out the heat. Warms room up quickly. The only downside to this unit are 1. The tip sensor is made of plastic, if you catch it on something sticking up it will break. 2. The power light is very dim, hard to tell if it is still plugged in or not.
