EDIT: Couple years after I wrote the original review the seller reached out and said theyd read my comments and had revised the chin strap + buckle assembly to be hassle free. They wrote probably the kindest email I’ve ever received from an Amazon seller and sympathized w the headaches w small kids. Then they offered 2 brand new helmets w the new design as a replacement. Pretty neat deal.So here’s what changed! They took my suggestion to cap off the end of the nylon strap with a rigid piece (where I’d just used duck tape) so it won’t slip out of the adjustable part. Also the strap feels a little less flimsy than before. My main issue had been a overly thin strap that just threaded right out of the red plastic adjuster when kids were just being kids. Problem no more! Be sure to check out my latest pics (3rd – 5th ones) where I tried to compare the two in hand.Also on the original helmets, I’ve been impressed by the build quality. Our kids tend to drop them in the garage rather than gently place them on handlebars when they’re done. Never had a crack or piece just snap off so really these are built to last.Major kudos to the seller for leveling up their R&D and coming up with an even better product!OLD REVIEW BELOW:Hey there! I’m guessing you’re a parent or grandparent who wants to keep your kid safe, not break the bank, and find a helmet that will last longer than 6 months! This item checks a couple of those boxes but not all of them. Fit is great on our 7 yr old and decent on our 5.5 yr old… But he’ll grow into it just fine. Older kid is very careful with things so the helmet will outlast her in terms of sizing. It’s nice that it’ll adjust and really get snug so it sits properly on their head. A helmet that’s flopping around does no good when a kid bails on their bike or falls over.This could easily be a 5 star item if theyd just spend a little more on the strap assembly. See, the strap is too thin for the red 3 toothed piece that clicks it into place. The problem is that piece can slide around at will and it’ll come off almost every time your kid wears this. It’s been less problematic with our more careful child, but a physical and boisterous kid? They’ll yank the thing off every time and you get to Jimmy rig it back together. No fun. The manufacturer just flat went cheap here and didn’t put a stop mechanism or glue or anything to hold it on the strap. Their solution is another cheap piece.. The chin strip with a marginal amount of velcro. I suppose it the chin strap was fatter and had more grip to it, then it would hold the strap in order. But both of those could be remedied if they wanted to.See my solution in the pics. I duck taped where the ear hole should form (midway up the strap), then duck taped the very end of the strap to itself so that there’s an end piece that the red clip cant slide over. If you wanted to go further you could duck tape the entire strap “shut” so that the clip won’t move at all. Measure to your kids face and then lock it all in place.

Didn’t think these were going to fit but I was positively surprised. Excellent fit, much better than Schwinn or Bell brand helmets. Would absolutely buy again.

Awesome helmet and pads, got it for a gift for my little sister she loves them keeps her safe when she falls. She now comfortable with falling 😌.

My grandson is only one years old and he loves his helmet when he rides his little bicycle

My granddaughter got a new bike for her birthday, so I asked my daughter what I should get her for a present. She said she saw a helmet and pads that she liked, so I said I would get the helmet. Teal is the color she wanted, so I’m really glad I was able to find that. I also thought it was really cool that she could write or draw her own messages and designs on it…. that was a plus! My daughter got the pads to match. We were pleased with the purchase, and my granddaughter loved them both!

Perfect for a 3 year old

The helmet is cool. My kid lived that they could draw on it. The markers are dull on the black, we are going to try wet erase chalk markers, but it probably will not wash off.Most importantly: The large size is way to big for my 8 year old. I should have gone with the small. I also do not like that the size isn’t adjustable.Will keep in hopes they will grow into it.

My younger sibling was too excited for this helmet. He loves the color and design which I agree is pretty cool. The best thing is the light up feature! Super neat ⚡️

Things that are important to a 5 year old. Great blue color, nice design, and the cool BMX visor which makes him feel like one of the older kids.Things that are important to me: good quality, snug fit, comfortable straps so that he doesn’t mind wearing it to keep him safe. It’s comfy enough that he doesn’t realize he has it on when he gets off his bike and plays on the playground. two thumbs up!

Helmet is worth the money. The lights work great! Design is fun

Cute color. I needed this for a bike ride that requires all riders to wear a helmet. I have a big adult head this helmet fit was a little snug, but I wore it anyway. Excellent customer service.

I got this for my 9y/o grand daughter who has a big head (in more ways than one) and it fit perfectly. It is also well made and seems quite solid and safe. The only small complaint I had (and would have given it five stars) was that the color in the picture looked darker and gave me the impression it was purple. I also bought her a set of pads for knees, wrists and elbows which were purple…her favorite color. She was delighted when she saw the helmet but, of course, asked me with some slight indignation why had I gotten her a hot pink helmet. I replied that I thought it was purple, but safety is number one, not color – and that she shouldn’t get a big head about it. Well, you know where that went, right?She looked great in her “hot pink” helmet while riding on her new electric scooter that has pink(!) glowing lights…AND the one she picked out. She sure is cute and so maybe I’m a bit over indulgent at times, but I sure pity any would be future mate. Well made and sturdy helmet and well worth the purchase if “safety is number one”. Recommended.

My son loved it

I picked out a few options and let my girl look at them on the phone and pick out which one she liked since she was getting a bike for her birthday. She picked this adorable cat helmet. Her favorite show is Pete the Cat and she says “I’ll put my helmet on to look like Pete the cat!” She loves the helmet and puts it on with ease, and asks to keep wearing it even after done riding her bike. She has fallen a couple of times and it has done its job protecting her head.

My daughter loves the helmet especially the design on it. Perfect birthday gift
