Top 7 best kitchenaid refrigerator 2022 passed our test

I’ve had this refrigerator for about 3 months and it has performed well so far. I was looking for a counter-depth model with two freezer drawers and this model looks identical to the Bosch B21CL80SNS36, which is $2,500 on Amazon. If you haven’t had a counter-depth refrigerator, you lose about 25% interior space so that takes getting used to, but on the positive side my wife likes being able to more easily reach to the back. The only disappointment is the ice maker. It only makes about a quart or a bit more of ice per day (by weight). The user manual says the capacity is 1.1 – 1.2 Kg per day, (2.2-2.4 lbs) so it makes what it says it will make, but if you use much ice this won’t cut it. The ice maker capacity is not listed with the product description on the web page.Oct 15, 2018 update. After six months the refrigerator continues to perform well but the left had door “flap” that forms the seal with the right had door would not engage the slot at the top to close the flap to seal the doors. I had to put a spacer (included with refrigerator) on the bottom left hand door hinge to raise the door enough so the pin on the top of the flap would engage the slot and close. Not a big deal once I figured out what to do but I hope the door doesn’t sag any more since there doesn’t appear to be room for another spacer.Update August 2020: Have now had this Thor counter-depth refrigerator almost 2 1/2 years with no problems other than the door described in the Oct 2018 update above. As noted in the original review, my only complaint remains the low-volume ice-maker.

Bought based on the measurement, it fit with 1/4” to spare just as expected. Had the features wanted and did not have features specifically NOT wanted. The bottom freezer drawer is a bit on the small size, but everything else is outstanding.

A generic Frigidaire refrigerator. No name tag on door and digital panel doesn’t light up until the buttons are pressed. Stainless steel is grayish and plastic covering is extremely hard to remove. Otherwise it works so far very well.Same model number seen at Nebraska Furniture has a different panel and Frigidaire is displayed on the door.Although the price difference was approximately a $600 savings.

I’m very happy with my purchase of this refrigerator on July 15, 2022. It was over $500 less here on Amazon than HD/Lowes and was in stock as well (was not at the others). I’m unsure if their appliances come with free installation though.PROS:- The interior lighting is vibrant and adjustable (via the app). LED wall is attractive and useful.- I’m finding the convertible drawer more and more useful. Initially I was wondering why I had opted for this feature, but I’m glad I did. Perfect location for cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, drinks etc. Far more convenient than opening the doors. The drawer offers multiple temperature options depending on your needs. Just wonderful.- Ice cubes are smaller than my old GE Profile. Cubes are crescent shaped and approximately 1 inch in length. The smaller size fits easier in smaller cocktail glasses etc.- Freezer offers a lot of space. Far more than expected.- Door-In-Door feature is great for frequently accessed items like coffee creamers and the like. I use it 3 times as often as opening the main doors.- The downloadable app is a nice feature that allows modifying the settings and lighting. Also provides pertinent notifications.- The auto-fill water feature is a really nice touch. I have RO filters in the house so doubt I will use this often but I’m impressed by the tech :)- I understand that the water filter will mandate replacement after 6 months on avg. Since I have a whole-house filter I called and ordered the “WR17X33825 filter bypass plug” from GE. They shipped it free of charge and took less than a week to arrive by mail.CONS:- Although there is a lot of interior refrigerator space, it feels as if there is less door shelf space than my previous GE. The fixed shelves on the left door are smaller and narrower as well.- The Door-In-Door shelves are running about 5 degrees (Farenheit) warmer than the interior of the fridge so plan accordingly. I have my interior temperature set to 35 F and my DID shelves run 39-40 F.- The ice bin is half the size of my previous side-by-side GE. Seems to fill rapidly though so aside from bulk ice for parties, etc., doubt this will impact me at all.Be advised that “Some Assembly Is Required” applies here. The delivery folks brought the unit into my kitchen (thank you fellas), but I tackled the rest. A lot of packing tape and protective film to remove. That was the lion-share of the efforts. A razor blade works best to remove the film without hanging pieces at the seams. Interior shelves and door handles after that. Finally one needs to properly level the unit, then level the doors so they are even. That was a bit of a project for me as my doors were WAY off. After adjusting both doors fully in opposite directions to get close, I needed to loosen the mounting screws to get the rest of the way there. Overall it took about a day and a half to finish the installation. Your mileage will vary.I’m giving this refrigerator 4.5 stars. Since there’s no option for a half star on Amazon I’ll round up to 5. My only complaint was with the doors. Took a lot of effort to get them level at the top and I have a uneven gap between the doors and the convertible drawer due to the maximum adjustment needed. I also have no info on longevity. Hoping for 10 years. I’ll repost if I experience issues with reliability.

Received the fridge/freezer combo with a dent in the front of the fridge door, missing shelves, trim kit that doesn’t fit. Received on Friday paid professional installers only to find multiple issues. Very disappointing after waiting for weeks for delivery, only to find out it sat in a warehouse less than 10 miles from my house forever! Very frustrating experience.

I purchased the same brand of water filter on Oct 19, 2022, and the water is slowly leaking from the filter’s connection to the refrigerator. I tried to tighten it up a few times, but it is still leaking.today Nov 10 2022 I just received a new filter (the same brand) and installed it immediately. the new one stopped the water from leaking after the installation. thank you!!

I feel like when I first started buying these they were $25, lol. But that was about six years ago. I do find these very hard to remove from my refrigerator and I’m always worried I’m gonna break the component on my fridge that it screws into. But knock on wood it hasn’t happened yet. Once the filter is actually installed, it works well. Like other reviewer say it is a slow stream, that is true the water does not come out very strongly. But it tastes good!

Did a lot of research and this one was the best choice. Has great compartments to help you organize your food.
