  1. The Oster 76 Clipper is easily the best pair of hair clippers I have ever used. I use it to buzz my head. It cuts in one pass, unlike cheap clippers that take 3 – 4 passes to make sure you get all the scraggly hairs. I now cut my hair in 1/3 the time it used to take me. You can feel the quality of these clippers as soon as you handle them. The 000 blade is perfect for that clean buzz cut length and the size 1 blade is perfect for beard trim length. I think the silver casing is a better look than the classic maroon casing. Unfortunately it does not come in a carrying case which I think is necessary if you wish to keep them in pristine condition. It took me about four or five pairs of cheap store bought hair clippers to finally realize that I need to invest in a quality pair. I always notice the barber shops I used to go to growing up had always used the old school Oster 76 clippers. I guess there are some products that will forever keep their integrity such as Technic 1200 turntables, Webber grills and Oster 76 hair clippers…

  2. I was truly surprised when I opened this package. The electric knife and carving fork were impressively good looking, and of very high quality. The storage case was sturdy and shiny. I purchased this to slice home made bread mostly, and for that it is terrific! The blades are super sharp and they slice through the bread quickly and easily. even when the loaves are still warm. What a great change from my formerly mangled fresh loaves cut with the “manual” knife.. The blades are so tightly close together that I can cut ultra thin slices. The best thing is that the knife slices so quickly that I can go straight down to the cutting board and get nicely formed slices instead of those off-kilter, thin-thick slices I used to get. Tiny learning curve to get used to the fact that you do not have to push the knife back and forth, just gently guide the knife where you want it to go.As you can probably tell, this is my first electric knife. I was so impressed with bread slicing that I tried using it on a roast chicken. It glided through the process with ease. Let’s just say, I will never go back to trying to cut with a regular knife again. Frankly, I considered the more expensive electric knife choices, but noticed from the reviews that higher prices didn’t necessarily mean better knives. To get a case and carving fork included, makes this a real bargain. I am so glad I got this!

  3. I have been a loyal Andis BGR+ User for the past three of four years…great clipper with one big problem the battery….I had to routinely buy a new one at least twice a year at 60$ per.I received my new octane today and have been using it all day and it meets or exceeds my expectations in every area. The power is great and steady there is no “winding down” of power as the clipper is used throughout the day. Once it is out of power it turns off although I’ve never come close to running it out.The charging station has a slot for an optional extra battery but again I haven’t come close to needing an extra and I cut all day long. The station charges one at a time…not a big deal once the clipper is fully charged your optional extra battery will be charged up and ready.A few things that are noteworthy about the clipper that I feel customer service is lacking in knowledge on after talking with them.It uses titan and classic 76 blades and Andis Ceramic and ultra edge blades…they are all interchangeable and work perfectly. When you receive the clipper you turn it on and run it WITHOUT A BLADE ON THE CLIPPER until it dies and then Place it on the charger for your first charge… doing so maximizes your batteries long term health. This only needs to be performed one time. And it will take at least 5 complete charges to get the maximum battery life out of the ion battery.Detachable basics: Turn the clipper OFF before depressing the blade release button and removing a blade.Conversely place a blade on the hinge and turn the clipper ON before snapping the blade into cutting position. It comes with 1 ion battery, a 000 and 1 blade, blade oil, and the standard cheesy cleaning brush that no barber ever uses anyway. One thing of note about any new blades they are usually coated with a residue to resist rust and moisture in warehouses until sold. They perform best if you clean them thoroughly with cool care, allow to dry completely and then oiled. This clipper does not require grease or to be opened to be maintained. Just make sure the blades are brushed cleaned and oiled. The clipper itself is sealed just brush excess hair at the end of each haircut and you’re ready cut.The Octane is lighter, more comfortable, more powerful, and lasts conservatively twice as long as the BGR+It comes with a 3 year warranty not 5 like the Oster motorcycle rep says in his vids.****July 4 2018 UPDATE*****I purchased the octane in 2015…It still runs on the ORIGINAL battery as well as the first day I bought it. It is my favorite clipper and I have accidentally dropped it three or four times and suffered no ill effects. It is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on amazon. Thanks Sam.It’s ******2021****** still going strong on the original two batteries. Same run time same cutting power….see you in a few more years. It’s *******2022****** still going strong with the original two batteries and charger…..same run time, still same awesome power. Ive dropped it several times now since owning and its as good as the day I bought it. See you in a few more years.

  4. This is a fantastic item. The water boils quickly. You can easily see how much water in the kettle. This lets you know if you have enough water to make a cup of coffee. It to tell how much water is in it when you are filling it so you only have to boil the amount of water you need. If you don’t need to boil more than a cup of water, you don’t need to add more than a cup of water to it. You can see the water boil as soon as it starts boiling. There is a ring of blue LED lights that illuminate the water, the circular “on” indicators at the front of the unit, and the one/off switch below the handle. Many people are enthralled by the boiling blue bubbles. I think it is a nice touch. This is one of my best purchases ever. You will notice a lot of reviewers raving about this item for good reason. Some reviewers claim that this product doesn’t boil water as fast as other hot water kettles, and that it doesn’t have the features of other hot water kettles. If prefer Android phones over the iPhone, you may want to buy another kettle. On the other hand, this kettle blows all the other kettles away in terms of quality materials, quality construction, design and functionality. The other kettles look cheaper, use cheaper materials and are not nearly so well constructed. This kettle looks expensive. The other kettles look cheap by comparison. This kettle is a work of art. It belong in the museum of modern art. It boils water very fast. And since you can easily see the inside of the container, you can easily add the right amount of water. This enables you to boil water faster since you just have to boil the amount of hot water you need. One reviewer said, according to the directions, you should not turn the machine on more than once in any 30 minute period. I did not read the directions so I take his word for it.The cord has three prongs. If your outlets have two prongs, then you will need to buy a .99 cent 3-prong to 2-prong adapter. They are sold here on Amazon and at every hardware store. The unit does have one issue. The cord is very short. It is the shortest cord I have ever seen on any appliance of this nature. It is less than three feet. Unless you are able to place it very close to an outlet, you will need a “3-foot appliance extension cord.” You can buy one from Amazon.com for $3, The cord is called, “GoGreen Power GG-25603 14/3 3′ SPT A/C Extension Cord – Beige”Some people claim the on/off switch is flimsy. I don’t notice this to be so. It looks to be over engineered. Still it is made of Lucite, however I can’t think of a circumstanced where it may break since it takes so little pressure to press down on the switch and activate the unit.I don’t see where water inside the unit can comes in contact with any plastic.I have seen any white powder forming at the bottom of my unit. I never let the kettle boil dry. I always leave 1/2″ to 1” of water at the bottom of the kettle to prevent minerals from participating out of solution and baking onto the stainless steel plate.I think this covers all the bases. My only real complaint is that it doesn’t make me breakfast every morning and see me off to work.

  5. I am a non-professional and have been cutting my own hair for about 4 months now. Previously I have been going to a barber a buzz cut (#2 usually or one higher) for about 5 years now & figured I could save some money doing it myself. I started out using the “Wahl Elite Pro High Performance Haircut Kit” which I purchased at a local store. Then I purchased the “Oster Classic 76” on Amazon. This will be a lengthy review but I will give you my in depth personal experience with both and why I switched to the Oster 76.Wahl Elite Pro High Performance Haircut Kit review:This is a pretty good kit & I was satisfied for my first couple hair cuts but then I started to notice that it was missing hairs. I thoroughly go over all sections of my head but for some reason it seemed to miss some hairs. Not all that many but it started to get pretty annoying. I would notice them on the sides of my head looking in the mirror for example and would end up getting some scissors to snip them as they were noticeably longer. There really weren’t that many so I wasn’t too concerned at first. For the life of me, even as a non-professional, I’m not sure why it seemed to miss some after so many passes. This kit was decent as I got it for sub $50 and it came with an entire set of plastic attachable combs. I also have a cowlick that seemed to get left a little longer than the rest of my hair too! I tried cutting it from all directions, using a comb to try to pull back the hair with the clippers following, etc. As I mentioned I am no professional, but I don’t think a buzz cut is rocket science either. In addition I found these clippers hard to get close around my ears. I think it’s due to the fact that it uses plastic attachable blades (aka combs). They are somewhat bulky attachments and the plastic comb sticks out to the sides of the actual razor because it’s a clip on attachment. I think this extra width that’s added to the razor by using an attachable plastic comb makes it just that much more difficult to get around the ears closely. I was having to (carefully) go back later and cut around my ears without any guard (comb) on because I wasn’t able to get hair closely around my ears with this razor. Which although I have a steady hand, as a non-professional, I prefer to avoid having to cut without any guard on, for obvious reasons. Seeing as this is a kit it also came with some blade oil…but the small blade oil plastic bottle always leaks! This comes with a carrying case to hold everything (which is nice) and if the bottle isn’t standing upright it will leak (if on it’s side for example) even though it has a screw on cap. At the end of the day these clippers gave me a decent cut but it just wasn’t quite as nice as what I received from a barber. However, through using these I decided that I really enjoyed giving myself my own hair cuts and decided to invest in a more quality pair of clippers.Oster Classic 76 review:After my experience with the Wahl kit I decided to try investing in a more professional grade pair of clippers and did a decent amount of research on different clipper options before opting for this. I ordered the Oster 76 and a #2 blade (this only comes with a couple really short blades). This clipper by far (personally) gave me a far better hair cut on the first time that I ever got while using the Wahl kit. I didn’t notice any of the longer hairs that seemed to get missed with my Wahl razor. In addition, the cowlick that I have on the front of my head that seemed to not get cut well previously cut nicely just like every other portion of my hair with this razor! As I mentioned in my Wahl review, the plastic comb attachments in that kit are what I believe made it more difficult to get around my ears since they are a bulky attachment. To be fair, and as a disclaimer, I did not try metal blade attachments with the Wahl razor (would have to purchase seperate) so they might be more comparable to the Oster blades. I used the #2 replacement blade and I believe having no bulky comb attachment on top of the razor lets me get real close to my ears. I did not even have to go back later and trim around my ears! As I mentioned, I think this is more of the difference between using a metal replacement blade compared to a bulky plastic comb attachment. Like the Wahl kit this comes with some included blade oil. Thankfully, the included blade oil container does not leak! These clippers do not come with a case to store them in though which will be another added expense when I find one, it was nice that the Wahl set had that, but that was more of a “kit” compared to this. A downside to this razor is it’s a little expensive, especially if you’re purchasing addition blades! The razor itself was over twice as much as the Wahl kit I tried. Then I purchased an additional blade, and plan to purchase one more, plus some extra blade oil, and some wash. It will probably end up running me $200 after tax and everything to get a couple extra blades and accessories, and that’s not including a case. So seeing as I paid about $20 for a haircut (once a month) I could see this paying itself off in less than a year. But now that I cut my own hair, I do it every two weeks, so I guess it’s definitely getting it’s moneys worth. Conclusion:Although I’ve had these clippers for less than a month and have only used them a couple of times I hope that they last a really long time as I have heard many people say they do, but I cannot speak personally for their longevity. Oster has some videos on YouTube which describe maintenance which were helpful. In addition some tips they suggest like attaching the blades while the razor is running(which I wouldn’t have thought of). So if you’re a non-professional I would suggest looking up a few of their videos. My conclusion would be this: The Wahl clippers gave me a hair cut that was pretty good and for about $40 it’s a pretty good bargain for everything it comes with. But the Oster clippers have allowed me to give myself a more satisfying hair cut, and I currently do not have any complaints about the razor whatsoever besides the cost, but I do not mind paying for quality, especially since I plan to continue cutting my own hair in the future. I looked myself over in the mirror after giving myself a cut (as a non-professional) and feel like I just went to the barber. I am very satisfied with these clippers and have already recommended them to many of my friends who also cut their own hair too. 5 stars.

  6. They get hot but it’s never that bad besides that great great quality, but the 000 it comes with gets stuck the first few weeks but gets easier with time

  7. The artwork on them is very blurry especially on the front and back but that’s my only issue and it’s a small one. The most important thing is that these clippers are better than great! They might be pricey but totally worth it. I bought them for my bf cuz he has thick hair and goes thru cheap clippers like crazy and these will last him a very long time. The best quality, they cut amazingly, feel better holding them and easier to use than other brands we’ve had. These will now forever be the only brand we buy!

  8. These clippers are the exact workhorse you’re expecting. Heavy, loud, effective, and indestructible. I put a LOT of miles on my clippers (12-15 cuts per day) and so far these are keeping pace. Blades don’t get hot so fast, but the handle will. I also really like the angle of the blade, it’s a lot easier to fade with these puppies. The green finish is starting to come off a bit, but overall they’re a great staple tool. Which, if you’re here, that’s what you’re looking for. Can confirm. 👍🏻

  9. Tiene fuerza para cortar mucho pelo. a diferencia de una maquina normal, esta es mas fuerte y facilita el corte donde hay mucho pelaje. Muy buena maquina

  10. I already have the corded version and absolutely love it. I wanted to get the cordless one for ease of use and quick touch ups here and there. I’ve had this clipper for 12 days and haven’t even been able to use it yet. There is extremely powerful plastic odor that permeates my entire house. Just touching the clippers leaves the odor on your fingers that won’t go away with up to two scrubbings with a scented soap. I’ve had this airing out for almost two weeks and the odor is still god awful. After only about an hour inside I had to move it onto an enclosed patio because the smell was making me physically ill.Besides the odor the clipper came with a sticky wrap that help the power button in the off position, when removing the sticky it leaves a ring of sticky residue around the clipper. And finally there is no light on the charging cradle to let you know it’s seated correctly and charging. If or when the odor is completely gone I will try to use them but it’s been a full 12 days and this odor has not gone away. I want to reiterate how bad the smell is. When I said it permeates through the entire house I mean it literally made every room in my downstairs reek. 2 Bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and an office. I had to open all my windows for hours with fans running to get the scent out. After that I still had to close the door to my office where I had it airing out and run an air purifier for 24 hours to get rid of the smell. I literally have to wash my hands at least twice with Dawn dish detergent before the smell even starts to dissipate from my fingers. The one and only reason I am going to try and keep this is because all of my guard attachments already fit this unit which cost me around $50.As of November of 2022 I highly recommend avoiding this product.Edit: I was going to keep this but after a month of owning it the plastic odor is still just too strong. Whatever plastic they used on this is horrible. I finally threw in the towel and put in for the return today. The corded version is made with a different material and is great. Look at the pictures and see the difference yourself. Do yourself a favor and look for something else.

  11. I purchased this as a gift for my son dad for Father’s Day and he loves it.

  12. I love these clippers, I don’t have any complaints. The battery lasts all day even with doing 20+ cuts. They are quiet compared to others, and very light weight. I definitely recommend them!

  13. I have another old Oster fondue pot that is nice, but not as nice as this one. The non-stick coating of this one makes it a piece of cake to use and clean. While my all stainless one looks nicer, this one is far easier to clean. Works well, heats quickly, and cleans beautifully. No complaints, will buy again eventually to replace my stainless Oster pot.

  14. I’ve been using these for over 12+years. I’m a bald guy and wanted some great clippers to shave my head. I bought these and my wife was a little skeptical because of the price. You can find some a lot cheaper, but these are totally worth it. Now she loves them too. She been using them to cut our boy’s hair for years. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

  15. I already had a juicer but it was a pain in the @$$ by the time you sliced and cleaned all fruit then assembled all the parts, juiced, then cleaned all the parts it took like an hr to make a juice. And I was never convinced the filter was clean cuz ut was so small and hard to get cleaned. The self clean feature really gets the filter which was what I was concerned with. The chute was much bigger so I didnt have to spend so much time prepping fruit and veggies. There is still some cleaning involved but it’s much faster. Also alot easier to assemble

  16. It does the job for Juices and Dough mixing. But coming to cleaning, Jar is so delicate, It may break if accidentally drops on hard floor. And you need to careful while cleaning or putting blades/scissors back, they are so super sharp.Overall, It’s OK but daily usage will be different considering delicate Jar. Need something sturdy and strong.

  17. This is our second Oster wine opener just like this one. Our first one died after the charging base lost its battery life. I wish it would last forever, but like most things has to be replaced eventually. There are lots of choices out there but this one takes up a minimal amount of space and is all we need. It has a foil cutter in a slot on the back of the base. We don’t need an aerator or vacuum sealer, etc. So this serves our needs. We keep it on the base and have never run out of power until after a few years when the base no longer charges the opener. Cut foil, push button down until cork is out. Push button up until cork falls off corkscrew. Voila!

  19. Oster clipper light and quiet reason I’m returning. Because I was looking for detachable blade clipper. Since I already got all the blades I need..I can’t rate this clipper because I didn’t cut hair with this clipper..
