How To Buy The Best Portable Washing Machines For Apartments In 2022
If you live in a small space such as an apartment, doing laundry can be tricky. Many apartment units don’t have their own washer and dryers and some only have a couple of old machines in the communal laundry room. If you want to avoid using those or heading to the neighborhood laundromat, a portable washing machines for apartments is an excellent option.
This type of washing machine is much smaller than the typical washers, and is easily portable so you can keep it in a closet while not in use. When it’s time to do laundry, simply roll it out and hook it up to the sink and an electrical outlet so that you can get your clothes clean with ease. A portable washing machine for apartments works pretty much just like a regular washer, except that it is smaller and not permanently hooked up to water and electricity.
When looking for a portable washing machine for your apartment, be sure to consider weight and maneuverability. The machine should be light enough so it is easy to move from the closet to the sink without being bulky and difficult to steer. Also ensure that the washer comes with a faucet adapter so it is easy to connect it to the kitchen or bathroom sink. Without this, the washer will not be able to use the water from the sink. Another factor to consider is spin speed, as this affects the cleanliness of your clothes, how much water it removes from the clothes and the amount of wrinkles the clothes get. Higher spin speeds result in dryer clothes but can also cause additional wrinkles. Having control over the spin speeds is best.
The Portable Washing Machines For Apartments Tips and Advice
Size is an important factor when getting a portable washing machine for apartments because space is at a premium. You have to have enough space to store the washing machine when not in use but also have space to maneuver it out of storage and hook it up to the sink when you want to do laundry. Be sure to take a look at the outer measurements of the washer and compare against your storage space and your space near the sink you plan to use to ensure it will fit.
In addition to the size of the washing machine, be sure to check the internal capacity – the amount of clothes you can wash at one time. If you have just one person you’re doing laundry for, then a smaller capacity may work for you. If you’re doing laundry for three or four or more people, then you will need a machine with a larger capacity.
Noise can be a factor for some people, especially in apartments where noise complaints are common. Some portable washing machines for apartments can rumble and roar quite a bit, while others are more whisper quiet. Be sure to check out reviews to see how loud the machine is if you require something that is on the quieter side.
Do you have a plan for drying your clothes? Some portable washing machines for apartments come with a dryer function as well, but others do not. if that’s the case, consider where you have room in your apartment or balcony to dry your clothes.

First, delivery was awesome – within 3 days of ordering. Delivery was directly from Amazon and 2 gentleman brought this washer up two flights of stairs and placed it inside the doorway of my apartment home – this was a Sunday delivery as well -so much appreciated that service! Unpacking was super easy- I chose to cut the side of the box open as opposed to pulling the machine up and out of the box ( too heavy for that ). From delivery at my door, including set up to actually washing the first load of clothes was less than 30 minutes! Again, super easy! There were NO dents, NO damage, NO errors and NO issues. The machine was in perfect brand new condition and very well packaged! I did laundry this day from 12 noon to 10 p.m. that evening, many, many loads truly testing it out! Now, to the questions —1. Does it hook up to kitchen sink? YES it does. ( see photos )2. Does it have all the attachments you need including a sink adapter? YES it does. There is a small silver connector you attach to the faucet first, then a simple push and pop secure connector placed over the silver connector ( see photos )3. Does it have both hot and cold water hoses included? YES it does. ( see photos )4. Is it easy to read and work the control panel? YES it is. ( see photos )5. Could you use it at your bathroom sink as well? YES you can.6. Does it leak? NO it does not leak – simply ensure your hoses are securely connected.7. Is it loud? NO it is not loud at all and will NOT disturb your neighbors.8. Does is spin well? YES it spins exceptionally well, so well you could simply hang your clothes on hangers to dry overnight if you do not have a dryer!9. How long does it take to do a full load of laundry? Start to finish is 44 minutes for a full large load and approx. 14 to 25 minutes for the quick smaller loads.10. How much does the washer weigh? The washer weighs 75 pounds.11. Are there handles to move it? YES there are grip handles on both sides of the washer. My unit did not have wheels but, it is not difficult to move on linoleum, wood or otherwise- carpet might be a little more challenging but, with an extra hand no problem! ( see photos )12. How big is the washer? This is a large kitchen counter height washer – for a good depiction of height and width ( see photos )13. What is the inside drum like? The inside drum is stainless steal with no center agitator ( see photos ).14. What is the washer’s lid like? The lid is soft close and is “see through” but, it does have a darker cast to it even after you remove the protective covering from shipping – you cannot truly “see” your clothes washing if using hot water as it will steam the lid – with the cold water option you are able to see them slightly better.15. Can I open the lid and add more clothes anytime I want? YES you can.16. If I don’t have hot and cold water hook ups can I still use both? YES you can, simply connect both hoses as you normally would to the back of the washer and switch them out as needed during the cycle. The machine will stop and beep an error if the correct temperature hose is not hooked up ( example would be washing hot and rinsing cold ) – when paused – simply switch out the hose and press start and the cycle will finish. ( see photos ).17. Is there a warranty from the manufacturer? YES there is.18. Is there an instruction manual included? YES there is.19. How does the washer drain and is there a drain hose included? YES there is a drain hose included. This is a long white plastic hose connected to the bottom left when facing the washer – this hose runs up and over and into the sink, it is more than long enough for a kitchen counter and/or a bathroom counter ( see photos ).20. What electrical outlet do I need? A standard home three-pronged outlet is perfect. ( See photos )21. Is the power cord included? YES it is.22. How much can I wash in this washer? This is a generous size washer drum for sure! I would NOT overload but it is more than adequate for a single or small family. ( see photos )23. Can I wash sheets and blankets? YES you can. A full size or twin blanket, a Sherpa style blanket or thin larger blanket would be fine but, not a king, queen or full comforter, however sheets and pillow cases of all sizes are fine!24. Can I wash full size towels in this washer? YES you can. I have fit all sizes of towels in this washer!25. Can I wash rugs in this washer? YES you can but, it would depend on the size of the rugs. I was able to wash bathroom rugs ( large size ) runners from my hallway as well as toilet lid covering and small step out rugs from bathtub area. All my rugs have rubber backing and are nice quality thick ones from Bed, Bath and Beyond.26. Can I use liquid detergent? YES you can.27. Can I use powdered detergent? YES you can.28. Can I use fabric softener? YES you can.29. Is there a separate compartment for the detergent? YES there is however, I have used the compartment and also added detergent directly to the wash with no problems.30. Will I love this washer? YES YOU WILL! I am exceptionally happy with this washer and after reading and reviewing quite literally every price point and every portable washer from Amazon to Home Depot to Lowes – I am confident I made the right choice and I’m certain you will be too! Hope this review helped and if so give it a thumbs up!UPDATE 06-16-21 — STILL LOVE IT!! STILL WORKING PERFECT!!! Best washer!!UPDATE 10-22-21 — STILL LOVIN’ IT! STILL NO ISSUES AND STILL WORKS GREAT! Highly Recommend!!UPDATE 01-02-22 — STILL LOVIN’ IT! STILL GOING STRONG!! Terrific Purchase!!UPDATE 04-17-22 — STILL GOING STRONG! No Issues, Just finished up four loads!! BLESSING ON EASTER!
I purchased this because my washing machine is broken and the needed repair or replacement was not feasible at the moment and the laundromat in my area is a little scary. I planned on needing it for just a few weeks, but it’s so easy to use I haven’t bothered with the washer repair yet (It’s been about 4 months now). I use it on the kitchen counter next to the sink. It barely fits with the cabinets, but it works. The hose to fill the washer fits on the sink faucet with a dishwasher faucet adapter which makes it easy to fill, and I haven’t had any problems draining it into the sink. I do have to use my kitchen step ladder with it up on the counter, but it works and is easy to use.I feel it cleans the clothes as well as the regular washer does. I filled an empty hand soap bottle with my laundry detergent and just use one pump to wash the clothes which works perfectly. My regular washer is an XL capacity and it usually takes me 3-4 loads in this washer to equal 1 usual load in my regular washer. In this washer I usually use the normal setting and wash for 9 minutes, then transfer and spin for 1 minute. After that I do a rinse for 3 minutes and then a final spin, just for 1 minute again as that removes the water to a comparable dryness as the spin cycle on my regular washer. Now that I’m used to using it it’s much easier to tell how much you can put in it, but every once in a while I get one article of clothing too many and it has a hard time agitating so I have to remove something. But it really fits more than I expected which I am happy about. The cons:The spinner side much smaller than the washer side. For each one load you wash, you have to divide it in half and do two spin cycles which is a real pain. That’s the biggest issue I have with the washer. It’s very easy to make the load not quite balanced, especially in the spin cycle which causes the machine to rock back and forth so you have to watch it closely while spinning. That might not be as big of an issue if you are using it in the tub or shower, but when it’s on the counter it’s a problem. There’s no fill line for the water in the washer even though the instruction manual says to fill to the fill line. I’ve seen several comments mentioning filling the water to the little cut out hole at the top back of the washer, but if you fill it that high it spills into the other side, Also, The manual refers to a lint trap, but there isn’t one.The last thing is that every time when done using there’s a very small amount of black rubbery stuff on the counter underneath. I can only presume it comes from the belts on the washer or spinner which makes me worried they will break and I don’t know if they can be replaced or if that will be the end of the washer. It has happened since the very first load I washed which only had two shirts to test it, so I know it’s not from overloading it.Overall, I really love the washer and would definitely recommend it. I’m happy I bought it and would buy it again.
That’s what I call it bt, my Ninja Beast. I love it!! I was very skeptical buying a compact mini washer like this. I spent months in searching, reading reviews and specs. I didn’t know anyone who had one like this. My neighbor has one that has the dual tub and I didn’t understand the concept of those and felt as if those were more work in the long run. I needed a washer, I was tired of having to go to the laundry mats with the virus. I was tired of tip toeing around my other neighbors laundry room late at night (she said I was always welcome to use, not a problem, but I didn’t want to inconvenience the other neighbors in case they weren’t keen on the idea, a respect thing). But it would eat my quarters and late at night just felt uncomfortable at times, not to mention sleepy. So I eventually gave in to the idea and after months of my research, even months of sitting on this exact model, I caved.Delivery was on time and prompt. The delivery guys had to bring it up stairs, I felt bad, but I also knew that this wasn’t too heavy, roughly 50lbs, 2 men, they got this. They even offered to bring it through my door for me but my balcony was the perfect place for it to be to unbox unwrap and dispose of it all right away. I struggled at first with the maneuverability, but I got a hang of it and although it still isn’t that easy to move, it is easy enough (about to buy a portable washer dolly with legs, problem easily solved). The exterior of the machine was a surprise to me. I didn’t expect it to be so sleek and sexy like lol. Good job Comfee on the colors and design of the exterior.Next up was the installation and im not joking here when I say a 2 year old could install it (Although, their strength isn’t up to par with making sure those hoses are secured tight lol). I was so gidee to use this that I didn’t even hesitate. Read the manual ✔ ran rapid load to clean out and check to see if it works ✔now for the real test, my fiances work clothes. So this is where some will have a problem. The tub is small, yes. But that is to be expected with a mini compact anything, right? I have played around with the combination of his work clothes. He’s 6’2 and does sheet rock for a living so you can imagine he’s not a tiny guy and his clothes aren’t so clean at the end of the day. While I find myself having to do less amount of his clothes, including work pants, I don’t mind because I am in the comfort of my own home and right now I have time. So I have found that doing his jeans and socks are a better combination vs mixing all if it because of the balance. Which is another amazing thumbs up to Comfee. If it goes crazy, and which it will if you do not load properly and not over load it, it shuts right off and beeps to warn you “hey, I need adjusting over here”. Just adjust and press start. However, and this is why it’s crucial to load correct capacity and properly because it starts over at the rinse cycle (which living in california is considered wasteful). But I pay attention, and if I hear it start to go off center during the restabilizing process (spin slowly, speed up, slow down, spin faster longer, speed up, slow down. It does this a few times to help stabilize the load in the tub on its own) I will simply press pause and adjust the clothes and press start and I do not have to worry about the water wasting. I have been able to clean queen sized bedding. A quilt, fitted sheets, top sheet and 4 pillow cases without issues. I just would recommend letting the water fill a bit first before putting the blanket in as it will help to bring the bulk of the quilt down, which helped me to not have to stabilize again. I can’t wash the bigger fluffier blankets and items but that’s okay. It cleans everything just fine and does it quietly. Sometimes I have to check to see if its spinning that’s how quiet it is. I can hear my ac unit, which is outside obviously, more from the furthest room in the house vs the washer. Clothes come out pretty dry, damp of course, but not sloppy damp or soaked still. I hang dry, always have, as it preserves the fabrics as well conserves energy. I know, im a total Californian. All in all I love it!!!This washer is definitely energy efficient. I wanted to see a few bills first before I determined that it was or wasn’t energy efficient for me and my living quarters etc etc. I consider myself a decent energy conserver as I was brought up to be mindful of my use as a child as well as, Hey California! So I don’t do laundry during peak hours, especially during summer. I use cold water, and I try to pay attention to the weather report and outside temp. If it’s going to be a 100 or higher that means my ac is getting full priority that day and is not a laundry day. Honestly, this machine has hardly affected my bill. So keep in mind that being energy efficient doesn’t mean you don’t have to be mindful of all the other things that use power. It means that with the proper knowledge and steps, it can, will, and is energy efficient.Would I recommend??? Absolutely!!! 100 times over I’d recommend. It’s a ninja, and a beast in one™️. It’s Comfee
Takes a long time to dry, but gives us more room.
This product works very well. Fit perfect in the space I needed it too. My friend had a more expensive one and this magic chef is way easier to use, has more functionality than that one and does a better job.
I absolutely LOVE this machine but I have some tips/warnings.First off, why I love it: It cleans super well, it’s easy to use, it has many washing options, and it’s pretty quiet. I’m obviously over the moon to have a w/d in-unit now. It’s also pretty in person. When you tap on it it’s an aluminum sound, it doesn’t feel cheap. It’s bigger than I expected, which was a plus for me — it can fit a surprisingly large amount, basically a normal sized load.Little Surprise #1: You can only use it with high efficiency detergent powder. The manual says it needs HE powder since it has anti-suds agents in it or something to combat an extremely fast spin? Turns out I really like HE powder though, I got one called Charlie’s, it’s great.Big Surprise #2: Installation was tricky. Many of my water sources were incompatible (bathroom sink faucet, bathtub spout). The kitchen sink worked with the included “Quick Connector” for a bit, but then it randomly broke. I had to teach myself basic plumbing (I started knowing ZERO) to hook it up, and I’m certainly no expert but I hope this helps someone else:The tube that connects to the back of the washer is a 3/4″ FHT on both sides. Any piping starting with M = “Male” = threading is on the outside; F = “Female” with the threading on the inside. So where the water enters the washer is a 3/4″ MHT (M’s and F’s join together). The HT stands for Hose Thread, it’s the same as garden hose threading.I wanted to divert water from under my bathroom sink, but I didn’t want to have to leave the washer in there 100% of the time, so I wanted a splitter that can independently shut off the water sources. The Y valve I found was in Home Depot’s garden hose section. It has a 3/4″ FHT inlet and two 3/4″ MHT for water flow out. The bathroom sink cold water line I interfered with was a 1/2″ MIP out of the wall and 1/2″ FIP tube (which seems standard for bathrooms but I don’t know). So it was 1/2″ MIP out of the wall, I connected that to the splitter with a 1/2″ FIP to 3/4″ MHT adapter. The splitter branches into two 3/4″ MHT openings. I connected it to the 1/2″ FIP bathroom sink cold water line via a 3/4″ FHT to 1/2″ MIP adapter. The 3/4″ FHT washer tube connected perfectly to the splitter.I got these parts from Home Depot:”Everbilt 3/4 in. FHT x 1/2 in. MIP Brass Adapter Fitting””Everbilt 3/4 in. MHT x 1/2 in. FIP Brass Adapter Fitting””Melnor 2.76 in. Metal Y Connector””Everbilt 3/4 in FHT x 3/4 in FHT Rubber Washing Machine Hose 6 Ft”I also used pipe tape, pipe dope (to really make sure it didn’t leak), and needed a wrench/pliers.Big Surprise #3: When I was struggling to install it, I learned there seemingly is no customer service support. The manual includes a “how to solve your own problem” section (“Before calling customer service, try troubleshooting”) but it doesn’t provide any contact information. It’s as if the company Helohome doesn’t exist online either. So when something went wrong, I was on my own. I’m glad I got the warranty (it’s cheap) in case it didn’t work. But yeah, I literally didn’t even know that pipe tape goes on the threads when I bought this machine. All of my plumbing advice comes with a huge disclaimer that I’m not a plumber. If you’re going to go for it like I did, obviously turn off the water source and put a bucket underneath when you’re messing with your pipes. It was fairly intimidating but now I have the machine of my dreams!Little Surprise #4: I had to buy a dolly to move it since it’s very heavy. So my added expenses have been HE powder, dolly, and the plumbing parts (a longer 3/4″ FHT hose, a garden hose splitter, a 1/2″ MIP to 3/4″ FHT, and a 1/2″ FIP to 3/4″ MHT). Still cheaper than a laundromat!Anyways, so I love it but it was my little Everest for a minute there. I still really suggest buying it! Hope you’re able to just happily use the Quick Connector piece they include! If so, the water hookup is pretty easy! And it’s a good call to read the manual too — stuff like not to fill it over 2/3, don’t put stuff on top of it, etc.
Now that I have had the machine a bit longer, I just wanted to update my review and I STILL LOVE IT!!! The only minor thing that I would like to have on this machine is a beep to indicate when it goes from wash to rinse. Since I don’t dry my clothes in a tumble dryer, I like to add a bit of fabric softener to the rinse. I have watched it through enough cycles that I can fairly accurately set a timer that comes within a couple of minutes of being accurate for the start of the rinse cycle. This just a minor thing and truly at this point the only thing I can think of to improve on it.True, I have only had it for 2 weeks but after hesitating for a while because it’s a little bit of money there and if I had to send it back it would be pretty bulky. But I have moved into this condo that does not have an end unit washer and dryer from a home where I’ve had a washer and dryer for 30 years or more. The complex does have a six unit washer and dryer room but it’s coin operated machines and just a hassle of having to go over there and see if anybody else is using the machines and then sit there and wait to set a timer so that I don’t forget to get the clothes in and out of the washer and dryer because someone else might be waiting to use it. I am single if that makes a difference to anyone reading this. I do normally about two loads of laundry a week and neither one of them is particularly big. My laundry items do not tend to be particularly soiled either. But as a trial I did use some towels to wash and dry my car and then I used some cleaning cloths around the house and some pretty dirty surfaces like in the tracks of windows and things like that. I wanted to test the cleaning capacity. I’m this little machine using warm water I believe got those really dirty things cleaner than my big agitator washer ever did. Maybe it’s just the honeymoon phase lol but it did get them clean with no problem. There is just something soothing to me about watching and listening to this little powerhouse. As far as getting it set up that was just a little bit of a challenge for me because I don’t have good hand eye coordination and putting things together and setting them up no matter what the item is always puts me on edge a little bit because it can turn out to be very frustrating. Other than learning to get the angle right to screw the hose connection onto my sink faucet, I didn’t have any issues getting this set up and once I got the fuel for that it’s no problem either. As far as the drain hose I just flip it over into the sink and put a piece of masking tape to hold it and haven’t had any problems with it coming loose or leaking. I haven’t tried to use it in my bathroom because the sink faucet there doesn’t have the appropriate type connector on the end and again I’m not handy for changing things like that. If I ever have someone come over or a plumber coming for some other reason who can change that end of the faucet for me I’m quite sure it would work fine in the bathroom too. But even though I have a very small kitchen, I just make sure I’m doing the laundry when I don’t have anything else to do in the kitchen. I like this machine so well that I am going to research and see if they make a big model on the off chance that I ever live in a house again or a place where I would have room for a bigger one. No it doesn’t heat dry the items but heat actually damages fabric and I’ve just always used it because that’s what dryers in the United States have. But this spin dry does a very very good job and I have a clothes rack that I already had and I just hang towels and things over it and point a fan at it and I would say it takes less than 2 hours to dry a regular size heavy bath towel. Now it is summer time in the South where I live so the air conditioner is running and that probably contributes to the quick drying time. In the winter of course I would have the heat on and the added humidity of The damp clothes would just be a plus. And for the couple of months out of the Year where I don’t need air conditioning or heat, I still think putting a fan on it would do just as well. I could put the clothes outside on my balcony and let them air and sun-dry but I choose not to do that. I did find that if I used the machine and let it rinse with no fabric softener that the clothing was rough, for lack of a better term, just like line dried clothes would be. So I just have figured out the timing on it and set my timer to let me know to step in there and add just a little bit of fabric softener and the clothes dry perfectly. As far as permanent press items and jeans, I just take them out and put them on the hangers that I would put them in the closet on but then hang the hangers on the shower curtain or something until the clothes are dry. They don’t feel rough, they’re not wrinkled. I am just fascinated that this little machine existed and I never knew it until I needed to go searching for an option that didn’t require me to have someone to put in washer and dryer connections and then the washer and dryer would have taken up a good bit of space and my one bedroom condo. So now, I’m saving myself the stress of going to a laundry room, I’m being kinder and gentler to my fabrics by not drawing them with heat, and I am positive I am saving on utilities by not drying with heat and my own place. The only negative that I have to mention is that the user manual that comes with it is not thorough and giving an explanation for all the settings such as water recycle and such. And apparently several companies put their brand name on these so searching for the brand name of this one specifically didn’t help a whole lot except that once I went through the videos I found other machines that had the exact same control panels on them and people did reviews of them that explained it all very well. As far as noise level, it makes less noise than the dishwasher does. That was another concern because I live upstairs and if I had a machine up here that made a lot of noise, it might bother the neighbors. But that’s a non-issue. So long-term durability will just be the test of using it and seeing how long it is trouble free. I do make sure to not overload it but I also do tend to run it especially with the towels at the maximum capacity that it lists and it cleans them and rinse them and spins them out very well. As far as how much laundry detergent and fabric softener, that’s just like with any machine that I’ve ever purchased new. I just always had to test it out through various loads and see what worked the best as far as I’m out. I do not like a lot of suds and my laundry and never have so I’m pretty skimpy with the laundry soap. I could go on and on, LOL but I’m out of time. I would just say to anyone who is wondering if it is good as all the hype says, that I am a real person who lives in the United States and is purchased from Amazon for years and I am getting no compensation for this review, lol.
Edit 9-22-22 I am wrong about item #5. The long time on normal, cold, large (69+ minutes) is correct according to p24 of instr manual below the table. They spin for 44, that’s right 44!!!, minutes. The one time I did that cycle it appeared to me that it didn’t rinse but I could be wrong. I don’t need or want something like that so it will force me to buy a 2 to one adapter so I can choose a normal 37 minute time cycle. Another $12 to fit my situation. But I have had 4 loads through it and on heavy it has worked fine.Great machine with a couple of exceptions. 1. The manufacturer could package the sides better. Mine arrived and it looked like it survived with no dents but I notice one slight dent in one corner. Like a lot of people say it will probably arrive with a dent or 2 because it is heavy and the sides are not as well protected as the top and bottom. 2. Mine arrived with 1 hand hold on the left side but none on the right side. That didn’t make sense to me, what good is one hand hold. 3. You probably need a dolly to move it around. The included wheels are very small. 4. I had to purchase another $80 of plumbing to get the water to the machine, none of my faucets were setup for the included quick connect. 5. It appears that it loses it’s mind. I had done 2 loads on the heavy setting and then changed to the normal setting. The estimated time was 67 minutes and should have been 37 (see page 24 of the book) and it didn’t rinse and had a spin cycle of like 37 minutes instead of 12 minutes. Shut it off and when I went through to find out what the times were supposed to be (didn’t realize the times were on page 24) it showed 37 for normal. So if the machine doesn’t show the proper time to run as per page 24, turn it off and back on again. 6. The lid doesn’t like high power flashlights left on, on the lid, it will kind of melt. Other than that it seems to work just fine.
I’ve been using this Giantex portable washing machine for seven months and couldn’t be happier. I use it in my bathtub for small loads – will easily wash 4 bathtowels and a few washcloths in one load, 3 scrub pants and tops in one load. I’ve washed a pair of jeans with sweatpants and sweatshirts, etc. Even though it’s not as convenient as a full size washer, all of my clothes come out nice and clean. I also purchased the Mosa bamboo bath mat (28″ X 20″) to set the washing machine on in the tub to give it a flat surface. I use the TubShroom to catch the hair and lint that drains after washing. I’m a 65 year old woman and I’m able to lift it in and out of the tub. Highly recommend!
This dryer is a life saver! I live in an apartment and lugging my laundry up and down stairs is not how I like to spend my time. I got this little wonder and it has been my favorite purchase this year! Obviously it’s meant for small loads so don’t expect your clothes to come out dry if you overfill this guy (from personal experience) It fits wonderfully in my one bedroom apartment and it’s conveniently quiet! I have not noticed any increase in my electric bill which is a big plus! If you are debating whether or not you want to get this machine. Just do it!! No complains here! It also comes with a venting system for the dryer! I just stick the hose near my open window and let it go to work!
We don’t have a lot of space to work with, so can’t have a full size washer and dryer. We have a mini washing machine we carry into the kitchen to do our clothes and with cold weather approaching we won’t be able to dry the clothes on the clothesline, so we ordered this unit, hoping it could do the job.Even though I knew the dimensions of the dryer, it still made us smile at how very small it is, yet it has impressive capacity for such a little unit. We can dry half a load from our washing machine at a time, and the clothes come out toasty and dry.I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to read directions, but I did in this case and was glad I did. Pay attention to the drying instructions or you might think it isn’t working like it should. It only uses full power and heat if you turn the dial past an hour. Then under an hour it uses half the heat. So I recommend that even if you have just a couple items to dry, always just turn the dial to the maximum time then after a bit check the items, if they are dry, just turn the dial back to the off position for a toasty warm and dry small load. For big loads, you’ll turn it to the maximum anyway so the above only applies for tiny loads. The unit is quiet and balanced, no shimmying or vibration, and constructed impressively for the price.
This is very easy to use and move. Works great in small spaces, is not noisy, and drys faster than expected per the info listed. Handles on each side for grip, and the top mounted controls are great. To more easily access the filter in the rear, wall mount or pedestal mount is recommended. The door is a bit flimsy, but we don’t have young folks to worry about being rough with it. We bought the extended service plan based on customer reviews as a back up, but hope this little guy will work a long time. It is very very hard to find something to use with the old house we have, that doesn’t cost a ton of money! Will report back if anything changes
No more sorting, bagging, loading into the trunk to drive, walk or catch a bus to a secondary location ( laundromat, friend’s house ), unload the bags of laundry, sit, wait, wash, dry, then have to re-bag, re-load into trunk, drive, walk, catch a bus back home to AGAIN unload, un-bag, to iron, fold, and/or hang, nd put away.Oh my Goodness!! The freedom of doing your laundry in your own space using your own machines is a TREMENDOUS BLESSING!!I live in a 1BR, 1BA apartment with no hookups. This compact washer fits perfectly in my small kitchen with the drain hose in the kitchen sink.Moving it into place was a bit of a workout but it has wheels on the bottom, In The Back Only and not he front, and inverted handles on the side which made it a little easier. And it doesn’t roll well on my low pile, Berber carpet, so, I found it easier to “walk” it.I stood behind the machine, tilting it back toward me onto it’s wheels, and just kinda walked it into position. It IS a bit noisy but not so much that it bothers me or my neighbors. To me, it’s no more noisy than a full size washer.DO NOT make the mistake I made and simply sit the drain hose inside a bucket because the hose was too short to reach the sink, thinking that A BUCKET🤨 will be enough to hold all the water as it drains at the end of the cycle. DUH!!Fortunately, I ran the suggested Test Run and sat nearby monitoring. I was able to catch the over pour and remedy the situation preventing a flooding problem. For the time being, I have to scoot the washer closer to the sink every time I do a wash, so that the drain hose reaches.Ive, ordered an extension hose to so that I won’t have to much longer.Great washer. Works great. Instructions were easy to follow. In excellent condition.JUST ONE ISSUE: it came without the bottom cover. It was supposed to be packaged in the box along with the machine itself and the hoses but it was not. So, if you tilt it back and look underneath the machine you can see all of it’s guts & parts.I was concerned that this might be an issue but upon Googling it, learned that back in the day ALL washers came without a bottom cover, with their guts exposed.I’ve washed 3 loads, so far, with this not being an issue. No drips, no leaks, nothing.Plus I ordered a drain pan that I have it sitting in that gives me a level of security. One of the best purchases I’ve made, so far. No regrets.
Value proposition:- I’m a single guy in a 1br apartment in a historical building, so this guy has been a game changer. The alternative was paying $5 in quarters for a small wash and dry at the laundromat across the street. No thanks. Return on Investment (ROI) is strong here. If you’re a sporty person like I am and do say two loads per week – one light, one dark, it pays for itself in six months. In my case, it’ll be sooner.Setup:- I have this setup semi-permanently in my kitchen near the sink and use the adaptor to hook it up and then detach it after use. I have to take off the aerator on my sink to use the adaptor, so sometimes I just leave the adaptor on the sink for a few days but this makes doing dishes a bit messier. It’s not difficult taking the adaptor on and off; if you’re busy it’s just another thing to have to do. If using the kitchen sink, make sure you don’t have a “shower head” style head only because it won’t work with that I wouldn’t think.- My only real complaint with the setup is that the drain hose is a little too short to comfortably reach the sink so I ended up using a mini bungee cord to make it reach, hooking the bungee cord around the faucet. You could also get an extra PVC hose to extend the drain hose, it appears to be about 1″ in diameter. For drying, I got a simple metal drying rack from Amazon, whatever the top choice was, and it works well.Functionality:- This gal works beautifully and cleans my stuff every bit as well as my parents’ $1.5k+ machine. It is a top loader but agitates gently like a front loader, so it doesn’t damage your stuff like one of those older machines. I use the Kirland Signature pods that come in the orange conatiner with this machine and they work well. I do hope that isn’t too much detergent for the machine, which is the .9 version, but so far no side effects.-On settings, it’s curious that the “heavy” load cycle is shorter than the “normal” load cycle. Not sure how that happened. I use “heavy” because it’s already 63 minutes. There are also “gentle” and “rapid” cycles that are shorter so you have flexibility.- Basically, the way clean water works is that you turn on the sink after hooking up the intake hose, and the machine only lets water in when it’s needed. To get warm water you just turn both taps on all the way and for cold, you use the cold, just like you normally would with a sink. The manual says to use cold water only but I’ve used warm water for whites with no side effects. I have yet to try hot only. Just proceed at your discretion realizing if there is damage to the machine it could void the warranty. Honestly, it seems unlikely it would cause damage, it’s probably just some legal thing.Wrap-up: That’s really it, I’m a happy camper and could not think of a single $250 purchase that I’ve made that has been a better investment and improvement to quality of life than this beauty. I end up using it pretty much every day because I’m a sporty guy and the load size is small-ish. That said, I can wash everything except for like a duvet in there so it’s perfect for one person.
The first dryer would not turn on. It did for a few seconds then stopped. I kept unplugging it like one review said but it finally just wouldn’t turn on. I contacted Amazon and they sent a replacement right away. The replacement works just fine. It’s just loud but does the job.Heavy so I had planned on moving it to the door to vent when I dry but it is too heavy to move without a cart under it so I will have to figure that out.
I posted before right after I had received and done several loads and all was good but now a month later it still cleans clothes very well and is so convenient but it is squicky as it washes and I’m afraid making noise this soon only a month in that I maybe in for trouble.
I am currently living in my RV for a short period. I needed something easy to move around so I could still wash my clothes. This product really works great. The dryer spins so fast it gets clothes just about dry. So you only have to hang them up for a little while after. Very happy with this purchase!
I can’t say enough about this cute little washer! We are full-time RV’ers and bought this for our fifth wheel. It fits in the designated spot in our closet. It is a small tub but if you stay on top of your laundry it is fine. I currently have a load with a pair of sweat pants and a sweat shirt along with a few small pieces of under clothes and maybe a t-shirt and they all fit fine. The spin cycle really spins the laundry well, it is not a dryer. I’ve seen other reviews (not sure if they were reviews for this specific model) that complain that it doesn’t dry clothes well. It’s a washer, not a washer/dryer combo, I’m not sure why the descriptions on portable washers claim that they are dryers. 🤷♀️ Even the twin tub portables claim to be dryers, they are spinners, not dryers. 🤦♀️ There is a huge time difference between the medium/normal load, 30 minutes and large/normal load, 81 minutes. I had it set for medium/normal and today’s clothes didn’t all get wet so I shut the machine off as it won’t let you change the size in the middle of the cycle, changed it to medium/heavy (61 minutes) and the water covered the above mentioned items. My clothes come out clean and damp. It is cold water wash only, I failed to notice this though it was right there in the video. I wish it had been in the description. But really not a big deal. Can I talk about the quietness? It is so quiet I don’t even know it’s running! It doesn’t shake the camper at all. For those of you familiar with RV’s, they shake. You can hardly stop them from shaking, but this little thing doesn’t make it shake one bit! I did buy vibration feet to put under it but I really don’t know if they were necessary. I was really worried that it would leak so we did a test cycle outside prior to install, which was fine. It came packaged really well, lots of Styrofoam molded around the top, bottom & sides. It is really lightweight but I couldn’t have gotten it up the steps alone.
I will never buy a full size washer again. Laundry was my most hated household chore. I don’t even have Laundry anymore. I bought this as a cheap fast temporary stand in until I got my huge, Heavy, never-level, banging, non-spinning nightmare Cabrio fixed or bought another full size washer. & $ was no object. Not excited about any of it. When this Comfee arrived, I thought, What a joke/pc of junk. The outside is Plastic! I didn’t even know it could be hooked up to a reg (high pressure) washer connection. (it does). It looked like, if it even worked, I could wash socks in it. Wow was I wrong. u just can’t wash lg heavy blankets in it. I don’t have any so no problem. It’s absolutely perfect. 2 ppl & a dog who creates more dirty laundry than anyone. This would work for a 10 person or dog household (with no heavy blankets). It’s so fun and simple, a child can use it. My 1st impression when I saw it was an Easy Bake Oven. As soon as I saw how well it worked, I had hubby roll our nightmare Cabrio out to the rd. I think he strained his back. Good Riddance. Gone in 2 min. Good Luck. If this breaks, I’ll save for parts & buy another one. Well worth it. I Love It.
Great little washer! We bought it for our newborns clothes in our motorhome travels (fits in class A shower) but we decided to try it out at home 1st…. First use I washed 2 L Long sleeve men’s shirts, 2nd wash was a pair of wrangler cargo pants and 3rd was 3 pairs of women’s L leggings. Every wash I had plenty of room to spare. It’s an easy washer to use and it’s already setup for you. I didn’t use the fill hose because it’s faster to just put the sink hose into the washer and fill. You have to use liquid detergent. Cleaned construction work clothes just fine! The “dryer” like everyone said is just a spin cycle. There is no actual heat, but it’s spins it enough where it takes maybe 15-20min to hang dry completely. When you drain obviously make sure the hose is lower than the machine. This machine spins hard so make sure it’s in a safe place. Pretty quiet for how hard it spins. My ONLY COMPLAINT, the rinse cycle sucks… when I go from “washing” to “drying” there’s still soap, so I end up just rinsing the clothes out in the sink or shower in between. Entire process takes 25min a load if you use the max time, that’s including my 5min sink rinse. Shiooung was fast, had it within 2 days. Would definitely recommend.
