It’s awesome! I just got it, and very pleased. ***Have not shot yet, but plan to ASAP. This is my first crossbow, and I’m impressed with the quality of it. I got the wood one, and this is a question I had that I’m sure others did too:I’m not sure if it’s real wood. HOWEVER It is VERY convincing! If you take the butt plate off the back, it looks like real wood, and it’s heavy like real wood. The middle grip, however, I’m pretty sure is not real wood. Just as happy with it as if it had been real wood, maybe more so because I don’t have to worry about putting the butt down into wet mud. If you wanted wood to make sure you have a classy look, this is definitely a good way to go, whether it’s real wood or not.If you’re looking for a crossbow that is cheap but still high quality for the price, I would go with this one. I was torn between this one and the 80-90$ one that is also wood on here that is a 150lb. I’m glad I went with this one. It feels solid and does not in the least feel cheaply made.Also! It comes with more than it says it does on here! At least mine did. If you look on the Big 5 website at the SAME 175lb jaguar kit they sell (they only have the camo, that’s why I bought mine on here -also was 20$ cheaper) It comes with everything that kit has IE Safety glasses, Strap, small pod of rail lube, as well as the red dot scope, arrows, etc. ALSO the quiver is easily detachable with a little lever that you flip to lock or unlock it. I was very pleased with it.A couple things for those like me just getting into it:GET A ROPE COCKING DEVICE ASAP. While shopping I was under the impression “Oh 175lb isn’t really THAT much, I can do that no problem.”Nope. It is STRONG. I am a 20 year old relatively in shape male. I can cock it, but it is not to the point where I would consider doing it in any case other than I injured an animal on the first shot and need a second shot to be humane. (Or a bear coming at me, tomatO tomAto.)It can be cocked. But it is difficult. Why hurt your back?I got a standard rope cocker, they’re +- 10$ on here, 15$ at Big5. ABSOLUTELY worth it.I also noticed that on the box that comes with it, there are check mark-able boxes designating the style, as well as some designating the weight of the limb. There are boxes for 95, 150, and 175 lb. So I assume that this means the xbow can take either size! So I went ahead and ordered a replacement 150 lb SAS brand limb. I got the one that did NOT come with a 150lb string, as the strings all look alike and you do not want to mix up and put a 150 lb string on a 175 lb limb… If i’m hunting wabbits, fowl, or target shooting, I plan to use the lesser limb since the extra power may not be necessary, and maybe the 150lb limb will be light enough to make the quick manual cocking worth it.Next, WAX YOUR STRING *and* YOUR RAIL.I’ve been rather obsessed and researching the bejesus out of crossbows, and this is essential.Also, it comes with the 16″ bolts, which stick out about half the length of the foot stirrup. It would fit 20” I think, but they would stick out at least a couple inches past the foot stirrup.Finally, when putting on the string, look up a video of how to do it properly; I followed the (admittedly vague) instructions and ended up with one of the string loops only half on the endcap. This may be due to the strings being rather thick for the endcap size, but either way look it up so you don’t have to dry fire it 4 extra times like I did.

The media could not be loaded.  On arrival the box looked more like a cheap toy but thankfully the contents were much better than the box led me to believe. Inside is everything you need except line wax, you’ll need that if you don’t already have any. As to how to put it together use this along with the information that comes with.First take one of the rubber pads and a couple drops of superglue and place it center of the rear side of the bow facing you. Next do the same on the other side with the other pad. Next if you do not have anyone to help bend the bow you can do it yourself. First unscrew the nut in front at least half way so there is plenty of room to push the bow through the hole. Next push the bow, without string, through that hole. Do not tighten the screw down or put the metal plate in yet.Next once the metal bow is in remember to put the two plastic tip caps on at each end tip. Then put on loop of the line on one end. Next put the end of the bow on the ground/floor. Then use both hands and all your weight to push, bend, compress the bow so you can get the other end of the line loop onto the top of the bow. It took me about three tries to get it but it wasn’t too hard. Just takes a bit of patience. Once done then put the metal plate inside against the rubber pad. there is a small divot on one side of the plate. that faces out so the screw pushes into that. line it up best you can then start to tighten the screw down using the included tool. once the bow is flat against the plates and fully tightened your work is done.Having gotten past that part what is not shown is how to use it? I know how a crossbow works but this one is a little different. First above the handle or above this round ‘snake emblem’ is a small black plastic piece. You need to press down on it to pull the string back and cock it. I have to push the bottom tip into the floor and then push that tab and pull the handle back to pull the string tight. Once you’ve done that it is ready to use. Above the grip, below the sight is the scored copper color ‘safety bar.’ Once cocked you need to push the right side forward with your thumb to release it and fire. i included a short video to show that part out.The three arrows that come with are nice little metal arrows. The extra couple dozen that are included too are a little different. those are all plastic in construction and about an inch longer. Regardless just put the arrows in the groove, slide/push them back until they click under and behind the metal clip that’s directly above the trigger. Just slide into place, click in place and ready to use.Overall when compared to others sold here I think this is a good choice. It is reasonably priced for what it is. The materials are very good for the most part. Being able to put it together by yourself without needing someone else like most others is great. The inclusion of the extra mini arrows is nice. It is light and well balanced in the hand. That makes it not only easy to hold but easy to aim as well. The biggest negative is the absolutely terrible instructions to get started. It is as if they didn’t even try? that’s the reason for four not five stars, it all comes down to those horrible instructions.All said I would purchase this again and would recommend this to anyone looking for a small handheld crossbow.

I use this crossbow for target practice, deer hunting, and turkey hunting so far. I know I’m being nit-picky but I’ll give you the bad first: The safety: The safety makes a loud click whenever it’s put back from FIRE to SAFE. It IS quieter going from SAFE to FIRE, so if I had to make a preference, the way it is IS the way I would want it, because if I’m not going to shoot, I can theoretically wait until the animal leaves the area before I put the crossbow bad on SAFE. Also, make sure the safety is COMPLETELY on SAFE after you cock the crossbow–either by hand or by using the cocking rope. Sometimes the safety doesn’t go all the way back to SAFE. Let’s not have any dry fires. The quiver quick attach “button”/release: This button also makes a loud click when the spring activates, and I don’t much care for it. So much, in fact, that I got a different quiver, and I put a loop of string thru the quiver and now I hang the quiver from the tree. I took the quiver mounting bracket completely off the bottom rail. The trigger: $200 trigger my @ss. If that’s the case, I want about a $199 refund on this trigger. It’s sloppy. I have NOT put a trigger scale on it, even though I do have one. I would have to strap this crossbow down in my Lead Sled and then I would want to shoot it 3x to get an average trigger pull, and I’m not going through all of that right now. Cocking and re-strapping and standing off to the side trying to get 3 accurate trigger pulls on a loaded crossbow would require a lot more effort than using snap caps on a shotgun or rifle. Suffice to say, this trigger is NOT a precision trigger no matter how they advertise it. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I doubt it… I would guess this is about a 10 to 12# trigger pull. It is definitely NOT a light pull. The mounting bolt: The mounting bolt that mounts the bow limbs to the forearm needs to have some sort of THREAD LOCKER put on it. I used SOLUTION 34 (it’s red), and it’s comparable to LOCKTITE medium removeable with tools thread locker (I think it’s blue). There is a lot of tension on those bow limbs and the forearm. So, my recommendation is to put thread locker on the bolt and thread it into the forearm about as tightly as you can by hand–I don’t know how many inch pounds / foot pounds–and let it sit per the thread locker specs until the thread locker is cured out. If there is even a little bit of wiggle between the forearm and the bow limbs, it WILL throw your shots off. Now the good. Love the camo. Love the compactness of this crossbow. I have the buttstock fully extended, and it’s about 31 inches for me. I like the metal boot loop. I like the width as it’s probably a good 12 inches more narrow than my old Barnett Quad 400. I love the fact that I can re-cock this crossbow BY HAND in the stand if I can get my boot firmly thru the metal boot loop. Regardless of how it sounds on my hunting videos, this crossbow is way quieter than my old Barnett Quad 400. I really wish the safety didn’t click when the crossbow is re-cocked, but I’m betting the manufacturers didn’t figure on someone like me taking multiple shots in one hunting outing. Up until this year, I don’t think I ever took more than 1 shot in the same hunting outing. When everything is set up properly, this crossbow is pretty accurate. Please keep in mind that this is a $500 crossbow–not a $2000+ crossbow, and generally we get what we pay for. I do NOT use the optical crossbow scopes. I believe they cover up too much of the target, no matter what the distance. I use a zero magnification scope with a very tiny red dot and it has about 11 brightness settings. It’s a SIGHTRON or something like that, and I paid a small fortune for it about 20 years ago when I bought it to put on my compound bow. I think it was something like $300 back then which was a lot, but with the trophy buck I just got on Christmas and the 7 does I’ve shot already this season, I think it’s earned its keep now. I love, love, love having the quick attach / detach sling swivels on this crossbow. I use my sling going to and from the stand every time. If you haven’t tried it before, a crossbow is a huge pain in the @ss to carry without a sling or a case with a sling, and if you use a case then you have to deal with the bulk of the case in the tree and the weight and unzipping or unsnapping the case. I love having the picatinny rail under the forearm. It is soooooo much handier to mount my ATN camera off that rail than the way I had 3 rails jumbled together on my old Quad 400. So much better. Compared to my old Quad 400, this crossbow is about 1.5# lighter +/-. You might not think that makes a difference, but it does to me. When I have this crossbow hanging on a tree and a deer is coming, I can assure you 6.5# feels like lifting an anvil. 8.0# makes it feel even heavier, but I had to start somewhere, ya know? I might buy a more expensive crossbow in the future, but this one is really pretty good for a lower-medium end crossbow. So, overall, I have to deduct 1 star because of the things I mentioned at the beginning. Are those things deal breakers? NO. They are irritating but not deal breakers. The buyer just needs to be aware. Well worth the money for my purposes. 4 STARS.

,and it hits hard even with field points..So far I’ve been using 7.5″ carbon arrows with 100gn. Field tips and it’s accurate, fast, and smooth cocking . Very happy.

Nice bow,, limbs was a little harder to install than should be pressure must be applied to the limbs to hand thread the limb bolt do not force read direction before assembly. Hole in limbs and boss on rail should be a little better toleranced my opinion but I am a engineer.I have sighted in the bow dead on at 20 and 30 yards shooting about two inches high at 40 yards. Going to put in a vise to take out human error next time out to sight. But first impression shooting high at 40 yards May end up shooting 30 yard dot at 40 arrow May not be dropping 30 to 40 yards anyone else seen this ? May need scope with speed ring if so tenpoint should have supplied a different scope. I have a 4 year old Titan M1 its been a good bow I’ve tagged out each year using it.Likes bow seems Quality for the most part. Accu draw works well. Quiet. Bow shoots hard. Dislike bow May need a better scope with speed adjustment. Accu Draw a little Slow use to drawing my old bow with both hands. I will up date the review after using a vise and shooting table. If anyone else has this problem of shooting high at 40 yards please post. Shipping was fast and on time.

The best cross bow I’ve ever owned it worth every dollar you will not be disappointed

So because of where I live and my proximity to other homes I wanted somthing that didn’t sound like I was shooting my rifle 600yrd away from my neighbors and kinda give them that piece of mind that I wasn’t shooting towards their home. I had never done archery before so I wanted to wet my toe and try a crossbow. I also didn’t want to spend a fortune considering I already have deer rifles. Im am so glad I bought this. I have harvested 4 deer from my property with it. All I had to buy was a string cocker, a few carbon express bolts and a pack of G5 montecs. The closest I shot one was 10 yards and my furthest shot was 34 yards. I found all my deer within 50 yards because this thing is a tack driver and they were all heart shots. I definitely recommend this crossbow. I dont know how long it will last but I feel like I’ve gotten my monies worth from it already.

Fast shipping. The first one arrived, and I was immediately happy with the quality of the bow. The assembly process was very frustrating because the trifold instructions did not match the product, looked like instructions for a different model. Still, I fumbled through it. Upon final assembly, literally the very last screw that needed to be screwed on was the WRONG size, too small. Without the correct size screw the bow is useless. I immediately contacted customer service and the seller again, to report the problem and requested they send the CORRECT size screw to me ASAP. They both informed me they could not do this. My options, return the product and order another bow or get a full refund. TERRIBLE business solution, this is a very pricey bow! I decided to return the bow and order another one but only if Amazon can ensure me the new bow will come with the CORRECT size screw. They assured me and noted this in their system. My new bow arrived and again final assembly, INCORRECT SCREW SIZE. I am very impressed with the size and quality of this bow, I decided I’ll keep it and go to the hardware store to purchase the correct screw size. I shouldn’t have to, but I did. If I had to do this all over again, I would not buy this bow because of the lack of customer service and failure to fulfill the order properly. Side note: my card was charged for both bows. I have to wait two weeks after they receive the returned bow to get my refund. And the return process was a nightmare. It’s pick up ONLY. UPS driver will call before picking up the return, a week later still no call no pick-up. I take the box to a UPS sure to drop off and they can’t take it because it’s pick up ONLY. I call Amazon explain noone has called and package hasn’t been picked up. Long story short, I brought the package (large box) back home. Waited two more days, still no call no pick-up. The next day, UPS drops package of at my door then walks to his truck, ready to leave. I run after him and tell him I have a return package he was supposed to call and pick up a week ago. I asked why he didn’t call, he said because of my dogs. Makes no sense. I physically handed him the return package.Like I said, The most frustrating process ever. TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE AND RETURN PROCESS.For quality and aesthetics, I give this bow 5 stars!For customer service, fulfillment and return, I give it zero stars!Would I buy this again or recommend NO!

It’s worth the price as it is very accurate and very powerful. Also still remained light weight and compact. I highly recommend to young and old alike …no need to carry rifle that is usually way to much for the job and more dangerous to shoot in suburban sprawl.

The R10 is one hell of a tool for hunting. The sighting in process was easy thanks to the YouTube videos from Ravin. Have not gotten a chance to harvest anything yet however I still have time and just practicing with this has been fun. Not to mention how lightweight and easy to use it is.
